  1. Main problem is not paying for the DLC. I personally would pay whatever they asked. The worries about this issue are from another nature. When a module like the harrier is released it's also available in the core game. If you have it you can fly it. But if you don't have it people can still join your game. A plane module can always be added to the mission as playable, static or AI. And only the people that want to fly it pay for it. The problem comes when AI assets are being added as DLC's. You can not put these assets in the core game. Cause if you do then the DLC becomes obsolete. But if you don't put them in your core game, all other people need to buy those extra assets so people playing online can actually play together. Otherwise you are stuck with a harrier on the default Kuznetsov or the default US counter part. Not all people will buy the harrier that comes automatically with those AI units. And especially not on release date. On day one when i bought the A-10C/Mirage etc etc i could play with everybody that had vanilla DCS. On day on when the harrier releases all the players that don't buy the harrier can still fly with their buddy's and other randoms that have the harrier. Until a mission maker decides to put in one of those ship assets. And why not. It's cool he paid for it and it and you make fully use of the immersion all these goodies bring. And you payed extra for those units so you would not want those units to be used by people that did not buy the harrier (harrier=assets). Same as you don't want the harrier to be flown by people that did not buy it. And there is alway's that some in the group you want to fly with that does not have the harrier = no extra assets. And there is where community fracturing starts. MP is already not a crowded place. All these new modules and maps will certainly make online more popular. But you defeat that right away with the above structure of distributing extra units. But there are solutions. Some very crude some less crude. 1. Make the extra AI assets you get with the harrier low quality models for the people that only have the core game. > A very crude solution that i personally not like at all. 2. Make so that other people that don't have the harrier can't land on it. Basically you can't already cause it has no catapult or cables. But people will try and succeed anyway with any plane. > Useless solution. 3. Make a message pop up every 10 minutes in the middle of your screen asking if you want to buy the assets you don't have that are used in that mission. > Now this would be plain disrespectful. And extremely annoying. But very effective. Made me buy all DLC's for ARMA 3 and i don't even use half of them. 4. Give those extra assets special functions only the people that have the harrier+Assets can use. Like ship interieurs for the carriers, ability to use some ship defenses or the ability to use the carrier as a war room so you can plan your flight there. (directly controlling the ship would fall under CA anyway) > This would be a very elegant solution. But requires a lot of extra work and coding i guess. And moneyzz that you need from us. I would say hell yes to that. I hope this clears it up a bit. ***The GPS device DLC is a non issue in this matter. You can have it and others that don't have it can still fly with you. I think that is a very good way to bring something special and still make money out of it.***
  2. Hmm weird. I checked your screen shots and i can read the HUD perfectly. My defaulth view is like that as well.
  3. Callsign: AGRS_WinchesterDelta1 Plane: F-15C Eagle Side: Blue Squad: AGRS (more might join later)
  4. Why is that on some servers the skin feature is disabled? Has it something to do with cheating? Cause i do not see a performance drop at all, or any other bugs associated with this function. (I know it's not just personal server choice)
  5. For a long time now i have stutters in DCS multiplayer in 1.5. As far as i can tell they are not because of graphics settings or low system specs. It mostly happens when scripts kick in, server messages and mission messages pop up. And when people choose a plane in the MP lobby that was not loaded yet. I can ignore it. Because i can just ignore about everything lol. But this becomes more and more frustrating. Especially because it happens on trivial things like server and mission messages. Planes spawning i can somehow understand a little bit better that it can cause a slight stutter. These stutters are also seen on high end systems. When i upgraded my 660GT nvidea card to a 970 and added 8GB RAM the stutters in 1.5 decreased in severity to a very playable level. But they where still there. But when i bought Nevada it was exactly the same again. Apart from the stutters the game looks great and fly's great. But it seems the graphics settings only becomes a factor when one of the above situations arise. If the player pool is stable and no scripts pop up i will have minimal stutters. i7 2.8 Quad core. 16GB RAM Dual Channel 970GTX SSD Most settings on high and about 40 to 70FPS I can probably decrease the stutters by putting everything on medium. But i will not get rid of the stutters due to the above suspected reasons. Maybe the loading of these kind of events/scripts can be handelend differently so this can be prevented?
  6. Ask Vshooter or Diamond Viper... Those $^%&^% would merge with a F-22 or a 12 shot advanced F-15 and still come out victorious. :D :D
  7. Haha i was thinking exactly the same. Very nice update on the SU-33. I think i will fly this mainly when i have to choose 33 or 27. After SU-27 and F-15 PFM i totally ditched the SU-33 and MIG-29. The most interesting to me are the "over power" feature with engine limitations and the terrain avoidance system for nap of the earth flying.
  8. Even without CM you can defeat all missiles very easy. Mostly i expend my CM's in the first or second engagement. Only ET's become a bit more dangerous at close range and it's a bit harder to defeat R-73. ER and R-77's are very easy to defeat without CM. At least that is my experience.
  9. Oww the guide is not available anymore :( Why was it deleted?
  10. I want big as maps where it that takes weeks to weaken infrastructure and has theater defense weapons you have to take out or destroy. So basically all maps as long as they are big and have immersive combat. I want maps where you make a mistake and die, and you have to fly another two hours. I want maps where if you fail to punch a hole int he enemy defenses your entire flight has to abort and fly back for another hour without any result.
  11. You need more experience. And test all the options to the fullest. But the most important things i noticed is: 1. Bad SA. They don't know what's going on, they don't know the capability's and tactics of other planes. They don't expect the worst.. Always expect the worst. Always expect the guy you are fighting is a ACE. Learn how to anticipate moves. 2. Launch speed. If you can launch from Mach 1.1 or above. 3. React immediately to any threat. 4. Wait for pitbull and run. Don't look if your target is going to be hit. i love to watch my target explode adn confirm the kill visually. But this is what gets me killed a lot. 5. Prepare your attack. Start already cranking. Get good speed. Get proper altitude. 6. Use your radar to the fullest. Keep scanning up, down, left, right, far, close. Work your radar and remember that information and try to anticipate what their next move will be. But not everything is black and white... So they might do something totally different then you expect. 7. Always check speed of target and what plane you are fighting, so you can anticipate what weapons he is going to launch. 8. When fighting SU-27 or MIG-29 always expect ET shot. 9. Grind your tactics so you know what go's wrong when and why. Tacview will help with that. If you don't use tacview you might be practicing for 8 years like me. The only advantage of that is that you will be able to stand your ground in many planes at the end (somewhat). Even when you fight your F-5, A-10, SU-25T or any other old plane against Flankers or F-15. 10. Never give up. And always try to fight better opponents. 11. If you master these things you can make people fool into thinking you are a noob and they will be careless. But even that they start to figure out now because i'll blab all my tactics. EDIT: What gets me killed is my cockiness and not knowing the exact numbers and a shitty computer. I fly on experience. I don't fly on exact knowledge of the plane. Some people now all the limits and advantages ( they are hard to kill but they stop thinking out of the box at one point so still defeatable). I don't fly on procedures and i will fight a 5 ship. Not really smart.. But aggressive smart and intimidating helps when you et the experience. Also i know how to break SA and how to disrupt people's thought process.
  12. Somebody forgot to take the password of the server. Or is it on purpose?
  13. I can't help you with that i'm afraid. I just started to land consistently on the carrier. I first tried to use the instruments and avionics to guide me in. But that always failed me (i'm doing things wrong here). Then i started to ignore the instruments and avionics and use my gut feelings and eye's and now i can 99% of the time. Maybe i should just try this approach with AAR as well cause i can't refuel for sh***t using all the indicators.
  14. Refuel the tanker with another tanker :)
  15. Isn't it a rule to be on 104th Team speak if you are in the GCI slot? Why isn't this enforced? Yesterday the guy (not saying names) in the CGI slot was on another team speak... And i mentioned this. But nothing was done. http://community.104thphoenix.com/topic/666-what-is-gci-for-teamspeak/?do=findComment&comment=3171
  16. You incorrectly embedded the video. Can't see it.
  17. Generated wind?? How should i see that? Is there like a big fan on the deck?
