  1. Astonishing job!
  2. In my humble opinion, ED should take a look at this guys for an alternative to their current terrain engine: http://outerra.com/wgallery.html They are already working on outsourcing the terrain engine to development companies. EDIT - And while I'm at it, look at this for weather rendering: http://www.simul.co.uk/weather /offtopic
  3. Myth. All flight simulators since its inception battled against graphics performance problems. Crysis is just a hype-packed holywood-action game that built a false sense of "graphic heaviness" through their marketing skills. You can't compare a constrained Crysis map and its limited visibility with the challenges confronted by flight simulators. What impedes flight sims to achieve the next level of graphics performance is the fact that given the amount of data (mostly terrain) they need to handle, ALL computer parts ending up working synchronously (hard disk loads terrain chunk into memory, CPU transforms data into triangles, GPU renders triangles etc). Only when someone build a truly parallel-processed simulator engine, the hardware will be better utilized than today's. But rocketry science is in certain aspects easier than achieving that.
  4. Its not assigned as a shift button in the SST profile. That way you can use it as a regular button.
  5. Also if you have the bandwidth dont forget to take a look at http://skyvector.com. Amazing site, shame its only US and Canada I think. Nellis there: http://skyvector.com/airport/LSV/Nellis-AFB-Airport
  6. EF-2000 is on my memories too. Amazingly immersive sim, the persistent campaign, where your previous missions results persisted into the following ones, the radio comms, the ALARMs with parachutes... To be honest I don't think there is another sim out there yet with this kind of feel, that you were part of something bigger. I'm still waiting...
  7. Indeed, I have to give a small offset to the aimpoint so the markpoints are accurate. Video:
  8. Let's not forget the G breathing sounds! :music_whistling:
  9. Interesting, I've never used names so long that couldn't fit on MFD, maybe that's a hidden saitek bug.
  10. Yeah damn you Saitek :( Forcing us to either buy a 300$ X65 monster or a 400$ TM juggernaut! My slider pot is still working, but my rotaries are kaput. In the next beta update there is a chance the control mappings will get some modifications, so I will revisit the profile and move the brakes off there. Thanks for your suggestion, much appreciated
  11. Accordingly to the internets, the Paveway III has been designed for the USAF precisely for being more efficient at low altitudes, since it uses a proportional guidance instead of bang-bang. I'd think the bang-bang guidance expends the munitions potential energy faster when dropped from low altitude (= higher drag), but if that's any close to reality I can't really say.
  12. Settings here: Water and Shadows seems surprisingly cheap FPS wise given how good they look (remember the bad looking self-shadowing from LO days? :)) The real meat seems to be in Scenes and Visibility.
  13. Set the JTAC radio freq on VHF 1 and then press MIC switch to VHF 1 Transmit.
  14. You sir have the eyes of a falcon! :P Now that's something I HAVE to try out! :smilewink:
  15. That sucks. I use W7 64 too, and my drivers/software versions are 6.0.4.1 and 6.6.6.9.
  16. Don't expect A-10C to automatically recognize the pinky switch as a modifier when you press it. You have to select the modifier manually from the drop-down list. Pic accompanying:
  17. It WORKS, just don't expect the switch to change position, but pressing the key extinguishes the warning light about the EAC being off.
  18. Then reset your control mappings and try again, because that's the only thing that can prevent the trim from working. Even with auto-pilot on, you can still roll trim. Does the trim not even work with the original keyboard mappings? Fire up the first Instant Action mission, unpause and hold RCtrl+comma. This should make the AC bank to the left. Regarding auto-pilot, engage EAC by mapping it to a key in options, this is required for AP to work.
  19. Check my sig.
  20. I guess its called Dive-Toss bombing. Not much more accurate than other techniques, only allows you to deliver from farther and stay low before and after the delivery.
  21. What about a video?
  22. Not really a detail per se, but the AIM-9 seeker tracks flares before you launch :)
  23. Check my X-52 thread to get some ideas. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=58484 In particular this post: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=993555&postcount=9
  24. Hmm then we need someone who successfully converted it to X52 Pro to upload it... any volunteer?
