  1. No, I don't. Cause at the moment there is no final answer to the question what a video game is. There are some definitions, every one of them with it's own problems. My questions were a tool to show you the problems of the definition you offered. And I already told you that.
  2. If that fits for you, fine. But that doesn't define it has to fit for me too when I have arguments why it doesn't. You can label it trolling then, but what you do in fact is avoiding to answer the questions cause you don't want to think about it. And that's fine as well. But if you don't have to add something to the questions, then maybe just leave the discussion.
  3. Small sidepoint: Everything has rules. A rule doesn't need to be man-made to exist.
  4. So, PS5 has no video games? A podcast is a video game? Cause I listen via computer and start it via mouse and keyboard? I don't mean to troll you. I want to show the problems when you try to define things in a way it will be: 1. widely accepted 2. useful as a definition cause it tells you something about the nature of the subject.
  5. Sorry for that, but I think the reason why this becomes a rabbit-hole everytime is the fact that the terms doesn't tell what many people think they tell. So people can put into what they want and start arguing about the nature of DCS using this terms.
  6. Great link, but: All it does is outsourcing the question, cause: "A video game[a] or computer game[b] is an electronic game that involves interaction with a user interface or input device (...) "
  7. That's exactly the point. A pretty chart that doesn't tell you anything relevant. What does "video game" mean? How do you define it? What fits into this definition and why? And what not?
  8. To be honest, I don't know how helpful the terms "game" and "simulation" really are to explain what DCS is, what it's not and what it aims for. Cause, what IS a game? How do you define it? Doesn't DCS fit into thhis definition? And if it does, what does that really tells you?
  9. Yesterday they've announced an incomping update. Maybe look into the map after that and decide if it suits your needs.
  10. If there is one game or 1000 with this problem doesn't matter. The Windows Defender has the false positive, that thing is build by Microsoft. So yelling at ED is just choosing the easier target.
  11. The software not working as intended is the Windows-Defender. Cause that's the one triggering the false positive. So if you search for a tree to bark on, call Redmond.
  12. No, most missions are build by us and the servers are our own.
  13. I fly in a squadron and we use SRS, DCS-DTC and a hand full of mods. Would we stop flying without them? No. But they make things easier and more interesting.
  14. Would be nice for Carrier Ops as well. So: +1
  15. Probably it isn't, cause that's not the scope of the map.
  16. Depends on what Interview/Q&A you listen to. In some they say so, in others they say they looking into it. So at the end: We know pretty much nothing about this.
  17. You can save the mission just as a mission. It doesn't need to be saved as a template. You just use it as one. Build it like a mission, save it like a mission, load it into briefing room like a mission. Look at it like a basement you always use to build different houses on.
  18. The only way would be to build your zones, triggers ect. and save this as a basic mission to go from. Afaik there is no way to copy/paste zones or triggers.
  19. Jepp, same here. At least I'm not that sure at all it will come with the main patch. It could. But it could come in a "content-patch" later this month too.
  20. I'm not sure if it's really forgotten. I had a little mixed feelings regarding the F-35 as well. And I asked myself why. It was my dream to become a fighter pilot. But the little curve in my spine said "nope!". Ejection seats are off limits for me. So now I use DCS to come as close as I can to being a fighter pilot without being a fighter pilot. That's why a high level of authenticity really matters to me. And here I have a real basic problem. I can't check on what degree this or that system is like in the real jet. I have to trust that ED's policy regarding realism matches with what I want. And the F-35 can make you doubt a little. For myself, I've decided to trust ED here. In the first place I trust Wags here, cause I know from his own words that his motivation is very close to mine. So he will do all he can to ensure it will be as authentic as it can be. Sorry for the off-topic.
  21. Just to add the source of the answers others has given already:
  22. Yepp, it is. Maybe they wait for DTC-functions to use in the data pads planned for the ready room.
  23. 80% of the economy all the time. Such delays in payment are the norm, not the exception.
