Iron Sights

So far so good for me on the flight model. I flew a bit more aggressively today and still found no surprises. I will take a deep dive this weekend but enjoying so far. Yet to take it out on a mission. Still learning the systems.

While I haven’t had as much time on the Kiowa, I have enjoyed what I have seen so far. In regard to the completeness of the module, I was impressed as well. Nice job getting it out despite all of challenges and delivering the product.

Ok, then that makes sense. I figured it was supposed to be that way, but I also want to help knock out any bugs. Thanks, that’s good to know.

This is on the ground. Place the switch in the middle position for slats and the indicator shows flaps down and slats out, before I place the switch in the flaps position. I’ll check it again, but I did visually check to make sure that wasn’t the error. It is just the indicator, the position is correct, so it’s not a deal breaker.

I don’t know if this is a bug, but I thought I would call it out. When you go just slats out, you also see on your indicator that flaps are down even though they are not.

Jester seems to not always be accurate on his calls with dive toss. You get can’t do that then suddenly he is locked. May need an update. Also noticed that if you have the pave spike he just won’t do dive toss if you use and then put it to standby. Seems like it is still active to him.

Great job once again HeatBlur on an excellent module. I am enjoying it and I especially like the depth this module brings with so many features modeled. You have raised the bar for others to try to follow. It will surely make DCS better.

Keep us updated on how the map is, I’m currently out of pocket. Would to hear about experiences with the map. Will try to grab it tomorrow or next weekend.

Just hold the button if you have selected them and they will launch. Might take a few seconds.

So the guarded button is to be used once you select the stations to be jettisoned. There is a switch next to it and up is outer pylons middle is inner and down is the belly. However, the outer pylons do not include the wingtips, but rather their pylon closest to the wing tips. There is not much weight or drag with the wingtip missiles. You can fire them off pretty quick if you wanted to get rid of them. There is also an emergency jettison button, that drops all stores, but still not the tips.

Getting back to the JF-17 in the last couple weeks. It is a joy to fly and is well done. Would love to them keep the updates coming. Great little all around jet.

We want to have a good flight sim, we need to support ED it if we can. This is what helps them grow. It is a choice, but early access is just that. I have three preorders going right now, just show my support. This is knowing that they will be EA. Overtime they improve and it just makes your hangar better. It is just an option, so no one has to preorder, but some people want to have that option to get a discount. Waiting is also a way some people go to avoid any bugs, but everyone can make their own choices here.

Nice ED, as soon as I get off, I’ll make the purchase. Really starting to look like a busy year and I’m loving it. Keep making the dreams come true!

Thanks for the update. I’m sure it is going to be spectacular when it does release. Best to take the time to make sure it is right, then to release it in a bad state.

Get it right and call me when it’s ready. From what I’ve seen, it will be worth the wait.

The F-4E will be fine and yes there will be those that complain. My advice would be go fly the F-1 or the MiG-21 and that will give you some idea of how much more limited it is. However, it’s not the plane, it’s the pilot right?

I would live to be able to hop into the cockpit of one of these AI planes see the performance values. However, I don’t think the limitations the player has applies to the AI aircraft. While I do think it’s getting better, it still has a ways to go, especially on the WWII aircraft.

The manual looks really good so far. Keep up the great work!

I think you should also consider the challenge that flying certain helicopters bring. I fly the Hip quite a bit but it is more a troop transport compared to something like the Apache. I do agree with your analysis on what where you would factor in on a MP battlefield. For me, I’ll still take something like the Gazelle out just to challenge myself. The Kiowa is a niche type helicopter designed for an observation role, working with other helicopters or doing scouting of the battlefield. I think it will shine more on a campaign based around its uses, but you can still have fun on a server. This is not an isolated case, there are many DCS modules that can do just about anything and others that have a more specific role that doesn’t always fit in on a MP server, but then that’s a challenge too.

Perhaps it will be more defined one day. I think it’s just one of those things that will have to deal with right now as they work the modeling of the sim. All in all, I’m satisfied with all we have so far, but I will say most bombs fins I find do not have a twist. Now I do believe that CBU and most canisters should spin. Snake eyes pop out fins are for braking more than anything. But, I’ll take a deeper dive on this, not sure on LGB bombs.

I thought it was an excellent representation of the aircraft and from what I could see, well modeled. I am really looking forward to when it does release. A job well done by those putting it through it’s paces. Thank you for the demo and keep up the great work Heatblur. Been back flying the Tomcat and realizing how well it is done. So I’m sure this will be spectacular.
