right. so i still cannot use the ramp start training mission and its now B3. i get an error that has not been illustrated before (that i have been able to find in the forums) i am running as admin, i am using full screen, i can play instant missions. i have uninstalled, re installed multiple times now, deleting residual files after uninstall, everything is done as admin. every time i use the ramp start i get past the small splash screen (compiling) to a point that is 95% done and then the program stops responding and i have to 3 finger it out. it is a fatal error message = unable to allocate vertices(bunch of numbers). Node i am able to replicate this every time (oh joy) since B2 and have been looking for a solution but am still empty handed and still have yet to see anyone with the same problem/error. i am wondering if perhaps a did not get a clean DL for this to be happening. Has anyone else heard of this? i will get a screenshot of the message up asap when i'm not at work. i've been looking for an answer for a while, so now i will ask for help. i am using vista 32, core 2 quad 9505 stock 2.8, 4 gig ram, ati 5870 (10.10 ccc) anyone got ANY ideas?

X52 and X52 pro Profile for DCS A-10C
ilikepie replied to Ragtag's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
you need to place the file in your Saitek SD6 profiles folder -
i had 4 that met an untimely end and could only get a 5. worth the upgrade? depends how much more you have to pay. if you want to improve the 4 you could get the clip pro emitter, and not just the reflector clip. i have found performance is marginally better but it could be due to the 5 version software and/or the clip pro. if it anit broke dont fix it. Beta2 patch incompatible withe training missions?
ilikepie replied to SCRAMJETZ's topic in Mission and Campaigns
i'm hearing ya.....same thing for me........just lots of random failures...hangs and general all round crap-sandwich's. (not that i'm complaining, as i am sure ED are working their balls off) i found rolling back a driver set (ATI) help a bit, didnt stop crashes but i could play a bit. Training missions for me are a total right off, same as you, not a happy camper about it, but, it what it is, and its just WIP. i went back to B1 to get some training time as some is better than none and its still very satisfying. it will improve, i have no doubt. its just the joys of being a lab rat..... i keep trawling through the forum and try various things,if i find something that works for me i will let you know;) -

New to Trackir need some tips
ilikepie replied to Rocky49's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
have you adjusted the light filter threshold? if you open the TIR software and look at the camera box is there any red showing? the camera could be too close to another surface and its picking it up. it could also be your head set that is reflecting light back and confusing it or the hat you may wear, it could have a shiny surface, mine has been confused by sweat in the summer time and i'm in knife fight with a 109 and its a little stressful. hope this gives you something to work with -
check out this thread for info. you may find your answer http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=55681 there are some handy links in there too.

Anyone dismantled a Saitek X52 pro throttle?
ilikepie replied to MadTommy's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
have disassembled my x52 noob. it can be done but just be particular with it, the hardest thing was getting a couple of screws out of the throttle handle because of the angle. you need to go in the bottom and then look for the 4 screws that hold the handle to the base and undo that to make the job a bit easier. try not to let the mfd screen/glass come out. it should not need to. the handle part of the throttle is the "busiest" with all the cabling jammed in quite tight but it should be ok. it is fairly simple to understand once you see it and if you have the patience/time for the job its a piece o p1ss to do. i did it coz my rotaries went all twitchy/drifty and it was a freebie with no warranty so i ripped in to it and found some other interesting things in regards to build quality (nuff said). should be sweet az. good luck -
also check to see if there is a background light source that is wrecking the tracking of the reflector/clip and maybe adjust the the light filter threshold. does the Tir work correctly in other titles?

i'm the same, time poor. try a reinstall of the drivers, it may refresh the centering. i have found that the x52 can be a little pernickety, if i go to a lan i have to make sure that it goes back into the same usb slot or its not recognized. hope it helps

the stick auto centres, you need to disconnect it from the throttle and then reconnect. it "should" go back to centre. As mikoyan said.Or you could try moving the stick through its entire axis range as sometimes it "remembers" a point if it is held there too long and centres on that. if none of that has any effect then it could be a case of dust in the sensors and needs a deconstruct and clean good luck

say you had to send it back because it was faulty and the replacement that was sent was a "free" upgrade for having sent out faulty stock in the first place. you will have to get pedals as well though, if you do that......:smilewink:

Where to buy HOTAS Warthog in Australia?
ilikepie replied to deltatango's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
got some TM MFD's from gadgetbliss on ebay.au and they said they were trying to source them. coulda been blowin smoke up my arse though. might be worth following up. i would be keen to know if any of yall find a source over there, coz we aint got a sh!t show of getting it over here and i'm keen for 1. -
yes. it is worth it, the clip is helpful in "bright light" conditions when used with the light filter threshold slider. it takes a little while to find the best settings for yourself but its kool once you have it sussed and can track targets by looking at them. fun.

any Aussie geezers know who will be stocking this stick over there? it will give me a good excuse for a trip over the creek.

Project 10 - DCS: A-10C Warthog Promo!
ilikepie replied to Glowing_Amraam's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
soooo worth the wait.......superlative! -
you could spend the money before she does and then tell her to earn some more. or do what she does, "it was on sale, and there are no returns" or let them buy the 500 dollar boots etc, and just remind them of it when you get something, and say " honey, how are those hot looking boots that cost the same as a NASA space program?" at the close of play, everyone likes to spend cash on "guff" on themselves.

it could feel a bit "patch work quiltish" things all cobbled together, but it could satisfy people with A2A hankerings.

nice find.
