  1. normal mapping fail! haha j/k Luckybob, good work on the city!
  2. Same issue for me.. I can't get the game to run now.
  3. I have multiple models (structures) I built in game that cast shadows just fine, but one of them does not. I have not been able to figure out what causes 3d models to not cast shadows. Is there some setting in the max file that needs to be set?
  4. Yea, I was closely watching the triangle count at Nellis trying to pinpoint frame rate killers. I noticed looking to the north side of the field made my count jump about 250k polys! haha That's how I found it. :)
  5. If you're really curious about what changed, just take a look through the numerous textures folders. While the game looks very similar, the number of new 2048x2048 and higher res texture files is concerning. Just a quick note on what has helped me. Lowering my GPU overclock seemed to fix most of my problems. It seems that the same overclock I used for FC2 causes DCS A-10 to heat up my card and then kick it off. The temps go from high 70s to low 50s and my frames drop from 30 to 10. When I lowered my GPU O/C, this problem seems to have gone away and frames are much more stable. I haven't tried lowering CPU O/C, yet.
  6. No fuel in wings, clean, no air brakes, 300 knots test: SL: 80 deg/s 10,000 ft: 77 deg/s 20,000 ft: 67 deg/s I'd be happy with 130 deg/s with no brakes used, but unfortunately 80 =! 130 I'm also not seeing an increase in roll rate at higher altitudes, only slightly faster at speeds over 300 knots.
  7. I'll have to agree, even if it is just a beta. With a clean jet, the first thing I noticed was the slow roll rate. Comparing to numerous A-10 demonstration videos, the roll rate in DCS doesn't look or feel right. Real A-10 Demo (Watch 3:07-3:13) Looks like he completes the roll in about 2.2 seconds. (50% fuel, clean jet) The beta version A-10C completes a full 360 degree roll in: 3.79 seconds and sustained 360 degree rate is: 4.21 seconds
  8. Thanks! I am like you and have had the same feeling about the view point. It may be realistic, but I'm not a fan of looking like an idiot trying to see my gauges.
  9. Agreed. I couldn't care less about ED spending any time working on SFM aircraft for DCS, nor would I want them to. But, I really hope the ability to manually unlock them for personal use in the new engine is still there. Will be a sad day if that is removed.
  10. I would love to see 3 things: 1) Smoke state output via export lua (like you have with gear/flaps/brakes etc) 2) Smoke On and Smoke Off inputs instead of just a toggle switch 3) Smooth jiggle cam when padlocked onto an aircraft from either cockpit or an external/tower view. Currently you can use jiggle cam when padlocked, but even when you change parameters, the view snaps back to the object so quickly it's pointless.
  11. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=980060&postcount=44
  12. Or better yet, an F4 view haha. Edit: I was able to get a F4 alike camera using the bug mentioned, but of course it uses the mirrors! The right side is my second monitor. Is there any way to get the original color output of the mirrors? What color overlay would that need? I've also noticed that attempting to alt-tab while running this will result in a game freeze/black screen and won't let you alt-tab back into the game!
  13. So it has to be asked. Is it possible to export an External F2 view onto an external monitor while the first monitor is in the F1 view? Yea this isn't realistic/useful for combat situations, but would be awesome otherwise.
  14. Well if you lose interest, we'll take over! :) :) :) This has amazing potential and while you may see it as severely limited, it is still has many times more functionality than anyone else has been able to achieve.
  15. Get it at http://www.lockonfiles.com/index.php?/files/file/1650-deeper-blue-sky-v11/ or Get it at http://files.lockon.ru/upload/iblock/518/DeeperBlueSkyV1.1.zip Also Attached DeeperBlueSkyV1.1.zip
  16. Blaze and I came up with a slightly less gray and purple sky and horizon. Original: V1.0: V1.1:
  17. Well if this is Hot Shots, then that A-10 should have no problem landing in that condition. ;)
  18. http://simmod.pbworks.com/LOFC%3B-Editing-scenery-files It doesn't work on the FC2 .scn files for me though.
  19. Yes, but not in a lua file. It's in the .scn files and requires decompiling the files, makes the changes (tedious) and recompiling it!
  20. ok here's some before/after: Default: DeeperBlueSkyV1.0: Default: DeeperBlueSkyV1.0: Default: DeeperBlueSkyV1.0:
  21. I think I used that reference to learn how to make our signs lol
  22. Attached is what Blaze and I have come up with. It seems very realistic, but in some directions, the horizon at the sky and ground don't match very well. DeeperBlueSkyV1.0.zip
  23. Not exactly what I wanted, but an interesting result... I see a little purple in the sky What I'm aiming for is the deep blueish grey fading to a light blue on the horizon, like the first post of this thread, but like I said, I'm just making this up as I go. I have a feeling that everyone else before me has done the same.
