In another game side of my life, I used to update like three or four days. I think it was good that I was able to sustain it, but one user requested I do it once a week, and thought that was reasonable really, and doing so if I got updates for my mods. In any case for DCS it's good given the complexity, where you can get the update, then work on to see what's fixed/broken, and get a reasonable turnaround at least in reporting and so on. I've been away so I'm getting back into the sim, so this is good to know.

Well I'm not sure if Dave will come back, he seems pretty busy. As for more skins? I may, may not, depending on how I feel. I have some other skins in mind, so we'll see. Tom Weiss die? Or just Lockonfiles.com is no more?

Thanks and you too man

Looking better now that I figured things out. Now I need Kurnass's stuff and apply it to the texture:

Thanks, I just found what I was looking for after supper, so I should be good to go now with the decals and such. I thought it would be harder, but it's not that bad actually. Here's the one I'm shooting for:

Had to delete the previous topic as I was confused at the number. Anyway here are progress pics of the jet. I need to know how to do the numbers and such for the bird, as I'm not familiar with that stuff, just know the basics of skinning (it's been a few years):

Here's the initial paint on the center fuselage. I'm sure it's working out great. Managed to figure out how to get ModelViewer working and so on:

Yeah I found a color scheme for the early, not late color scheme, so now since I moved to the new laptop (got DCS installed and all) now, I can within a day or so start working on the early colors, and not the late. Thanks I appreciate it!
-
Yeah I was panning on getting the full terrain (even though I served in the Eastern portion), because that's what seems the best option for me.
-
x I need it actually if you can, as I need it for the inside emblem on the tails, but for other things too if you don't mind... I have the early camo so I can apply it whenever I can.
-
I might do some of these, they're pretty easy, though I'd have to dig for the colors for the camo, unless you want the "new" camo instead. I still have to wait for my G key to die so I don't know when I can get to it, but maybe within a month if I predict it'll go out. I don't do Eagles normally, but I can get the colors and make a C look like an A I guess.

I mean for shutdown it would be good, like after a few minutes they appear. Personally I don't really worry about such things, but it is a nice touch.
-
Ahh I guess when I get my new laptop up and running I can see what you mean. But good luck though...

Fair enough, but back in Flanker 2.51 I did road ops with an Su-33, but then again I don't fly the Harrier so I don't know how much you really need, but it'll take some time to find some roads though. Granted DCS isn't F2.51, the roads should be fairly similar. And any mission designer should be able to make some stuff happen anyway, so it's just a matter of finding a good stretch for you.
-
I mean the AV-8B can land vertically. You can do ops on the roads and such, no need for an airport per se.
-
I would too, that's what inspired me as while it's a MIG, it still is a good little jet, and you can do carrier ops of course, and not just on the Supercarrier.

I've been interested in this plane for a long time, and it would nice to see something more modern (I think India is the only operator, unless I'm mistaken), and been wondering if it was doable since most of the modeling would be done at least externally. Anyway that's my only real request.

NineLine just posted that they'll update as it goes along, so nobody knows and probably they're just starting it, or at a point where they're not going to push out information about stores just yet, which he said that they'll update us. Dev work takes time, so be patient. Hell they may not know themselves, so just wait until they update the FAQ, which was told that they will update over time.

Thanks, just what I'm looking for

I've been out of the loop for a few years, so bear with me. Anyway, I went to the site and got the 2017 templates. Thanks!
-
So to confirm, they're using the external FC3 model, but entirely new cockpit? I can go with the external model as it really isn't that bad and if I want to skin I can use my old templates.

Oh that... I don't know any F-35 pilots (I was US Army, not USAF), but I'm sure somewhere down the road some actual pilots may have complaints and so on. And I'm sure ED is doing the best they can to not use classified stuff to ensure we get a quality product. So the future remains to be seen how accurate the pit is though, as that's the main contention point for the module. And I'm sure that they may have some issues and the USAF may interject (if they want them to make a module strictly for military use) and so on. Like the Eurofighter and such. Normally ED gets in touch with people who are subject matter experts on the module and so on, so I'm sure they're looking for somebody to help them out without breaking any laws. So hopefully they are.

I think my time with ED is pretty much over (though I'm really not doing anything right now), and frankly I have no interest in the F-35 (unless they do a Super Hornet or an F-35C). I know a guy who's doing F-35 skins for Strike Fighters 2, and would recommend him, but I don't know if ED needs a skinning group when I'm sure that they have enough people. But if something comes along that I think will feel useful I'm pretty sure I'd share it.
