Yeah I messed up in doing the occlusion layers. It's not bad so far. But, I might remove it based on your advice. I don't like baked in shadows myself (I think that's a bit much, and in some cases it works, so hit or miss), but it's my first F-15, so I'll take it and work on it.

Just something I thought of out of the blue. This being the second of my F-15C journey, I decided to do this one and maybe move on to other things, like actually playing DCS than just starting to skin again. But it will take some time anyway, but I have this fictional skin in mind for the Eagle. I'm keeping the 65th stuff of course, so that stuff (along with the patches) are still there, just need to do the body and wings and stuff.

I managed to finish it, I tried @streakeagle (now it works lol) on the topic, but it didn't go through there, but it's uploaded and waiting approval.

Well I managed to figure out the patch file, so that's done. I uploaded it as a version 1.0 or so, maybe some user feedback will improve it. Anyway @streakeagle, I'll post the update when it's active

If there was something clearer on the first image then I could use it, the stuff gets in the way though. I have one from SOLIDKREATE but I don't know what period it's in. I can see what I can work with though. The bottom photo is better for the tail eagle/bird though, that helps a lot. And apparently my Flikr-Fu isn't that good either...

Where did you find the side emblems though? That's all I need (and maybe the patches for the pilot) to do, and having a hell of a time finding it.

I enjoy it too. If I was young enough I'd go back to a gaming group, but for now I'll go back to plinking targets and stuff. I may fly Afghanistan with it, but with the pitching up issues near airports (I'm planning on taking off from Jbad if I can) I may fly something else, haven't decided yet.

I agree, or a revamped one at best. I'm sure the current version handles well, but an update wouldn't hurt.

I've been using the NVIDIA Texture tools that had the DDS plugin, so I save as the default setting, and works fine with the sim and such.

Yeah it's good to be seen actually (and good to see you as well). I mean it's been a few years, but I have enough space on my new laptop to fully install DCS, so I can get back into flying (eventually) and skinning again.

Right now I'm trying to find reference photos for the intake sides, both left and right. I figured out the decol image and how to use it (obviously), so all I need to know what to put on the sides of the intakes, and should be done. I did request to join an F-15 group on Facebook, so if that goes through, then I can wrap this one up. A Flickr search didn't help either, but did show that the shield is mimicked on each side, so that makes it easier, now just have to find a good image of it, and I'll be set.

Inside tail area, on both sides (right tail shown) as finding decals for this squadron is well... not working as apparently my Google Fu isn't going well. Anyway:

In another game side of my life, I used to update like three or four days. I think it was good that I was able to sustain it, but one user requested I do it once a week, and thought that was reasonable really, and doing so if I got updates for my mods. In any case for DCS it's good given the complexity, where you can get the update, then work on to see what's fixed/broken, and get a reasonable turnaround at least in reporting and so on. I've been away so I'm getting back into the sim, so this is good to know.

Well I'm not sure if Dave will come back, he seems pretty busy. As for more skins? I may, may not, depending on how I feel. I have some other skins in mind, so we'll see. Tom Weiss die? Or just Lockonfiles.com is no more?
