Hello, first up big thanks to all who made this campaign happen, it's super immersive, and while it feels realistic at the same time it's very entertaining! I know it's very nitpicky, but I may have found a little bug in Mission 7: While providing air support over the LZ some radio messages pop up (I think there is even voice acting for them). Out of nowhere Chalk 3 suddenly reports RPM loss after being hit (I think the dialog window says the pilot callsign is KELLY, who was my co-pilot when flying slicks in the missions before). Thing is: There is no Chalk 3 in this mission, there is only one other gunship and that's Chalk 2. No mention of Chalk 3 anywhere in the briefing and during the flight home nobody talks about the loss of a gunship (quite the opposite they're joking around as usual). Sorry if I made a wrong observation here, but in case I'm correct I guess it's an easy fix and maybe just a trigger that does not belong in this mission. Edit: Sorry for posting this in the wrong general forum, can you please move it into the correct subforum? Otherwise I'm happy to repost

Quick campaign request UH-1H UN campaign
Screenchecker replied to Hammer1-1's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Thanks a lot for the very helpful insights! Would be very much interested in those parameters and I think those exports are very interesting in general. I look forward to your properly converted campaign! Edit: Ah just remembered there was something I forgot to ask you: So the triggers are firing as soon as I enter the UHF Frequency, but I dont have to select the frequency with my RTS Rocker Switch. I think it would be more realstic if I also had to do that, because just setting the frequency without selecting it wouldn't let me talk over it (that's how far my very little understanding for the Apache Radio systems go). -

Some missions might require you to set your radio to a certain (UHF) frequency. I learned today how to edit the triggers so you'll hear the correct radio transmissions. (I don't know how critical those are for the mission to progress). Just find the triggers with the condition (COCKPIT PARAMETER EQUAL TO) and replace the PARAM value UHF_FREQ with COMM1_FREQ Props to this guy for figuring out the correct param: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/190597-trigger-when-player-tuned-to-a-specific-frequency/?do=findComment&comment=3716494 Don't know how to work the radio on the Apache? makes sense, also from a story perspective. Mission 11 is another perfect fit for the AH-64D (2x UH-1, 2x AH-64, 4x UH-60), even the voice samples fit perfectly since there is no mention of Miniguns etc. and the mission is all about CAS. -

i see what you mean, it can kill the immersion to fly troup transport missions in an AH-64, but in that regard you'd have to cut a lot of missions at least 30% if I had to guess. I personally wouldn't mind if the one where you have to fly the general around would be removed, it took me like 30 times before I got the landing on the third checkpoint right since there is a slope and I always crashed while landing downhill Had to learn it the hard way that it's better to either land on a flat spot or at least uphill if you really have to. -

I was wondering why I was unable to fire my hellfire missiles, guess that contact with the palm tree left more than a scratch -

Just went to the forum to suggest just that Had some great fun today flying the modified Misison 7. (on a side-note I learned that the Apache is not bigger than the Huey, for some reason I imagined that the Apache would dwarf the Hueys, but it fits in just nicely into the squadron and onto the heli pads). In case you own the Huey module you can just jump into the Mission editor and swap the player model from UH-1 to AH-64, you might have to change the task from "transport" to "escort" (I think it just has to be a compatible task). The triggers work just the same, so you will deploy soldiers during the mission nevertheless. Ofc. if someone would go ahead and add fitting liveries and optimize the missions, that would be even better But in the meantime I'm very happy that DCS gives us the flexibility to enjoy the AH-64 in existing campaings practically out of the box. -
cannot reproduce AH-64D training mission bug.
Screenchecker replied to KermitOG's topic in Bugs and Problems
@NineLinejust rechecked in case it only doesn't work if you bind the key during the session, but it also does not work for me if the binding is in place right from the start. It's set for the pilot and the cp/gunner using the TMS on my Warthog Hotas. Thanks for making this awesome module happen, I enjoy it very much! -
fixed in 2.7.11.21408.1 thanks to the devs that fixed it, this was sometimes killing the immersion in VR

great to hear, thanks!

thanks for the hint! should probably be fixed since a lot of people will have keybind for the WAS -
2.7.0.4625 Open Beta crash at second mission load
Screenchecker replied to XPACT's topic in Game Crash
Can confirm that I experience the issue in role selection on multiplayer servers (in VR) and that Windows 7 compatibility mode seems to fix it so far. Can't say if it has a performance hit since I have no data to compare, just in-game frame time overlays, but since the numbers generally fluctuate a lot, it's hard to compare. At least the hit is not super obvious. Also had a look into my logs, nothing out of the ordinary in there after the crashes (sorry, I know that is no great help to reproduce the issue). It also never occurred instantly in my case. Usually within the first 30 minutes of a session. Even though you guys have to take a lot of flak from angry players I gotta tell you that this game brings me a lot of joy. In VR it's a dream come true for flight enthusiasts. -
[REPORTED]Broken damage model in 2.5.6.50726 ?
Screenchecker replied to Raven (Elysian Angel)'s topic in General Bugs
Fixed in 2.5.6.50979 The damage model seems to be back to normal after the currently undocumented update to 2.5.6.50979. The first screenshot shows an AI-controlled SU-27 after a short-range missile hit, notice the burning engine and the missing flight surfaces. Furthermore, the pilot appears to have been killed on impact (which never happened in the broken state). The second screenshot shows a heavily damaged SU-27 also missing some flight surfaces which could not be shot off before. I'm not a real pilot or very familiar with flight physics to evaluate if it would be possible to remain flying in a state like this, but the damage model behavior is back to how it used to be I'd say. Thanks for fixing! :) -
[REPORTED]Broken damage model in 2.5.6.50726 ?
Screenchecker replied to Raven (Elysian Angel)'s topic in General Bugs
I'm seeing the same issue with various jets. In this case, I'm fighting the SU-27 AI with guns. Here are some example stats: So these are over 50 hits from a DEFA 554 (M-2000C). 5 rounds well-placed rounds used to be enough to down a plane (usually by ripping off some flight control surfaces or the whole wing). Here's another one: This time over 250 30mm hits. Still, the SU-27 keeps flying. It usually goes into "wounded retreat mode" after the first couple of hits and remains flying until the pilot ejects shorty before initiating landing or even more often crashes at the beginning of the runway. What I found strange is that the enemy pilot seems to be killed by one of my rounds according to the stats when he ejects, although I ran out of ammo minutes ago. Here are some short video clips where I keep hitting the enemy plane with a lot of rounds which seem to have no effect, except for the damaged jet to leave large trails of smoke and fuel. F-16 vs. AI SU-27 M-2000C vs. AI SU-27 As you can see at the end of the second clip the visual damage model is somewhat still there, but the frame of the SU-27 should not be as intact as it appears and in previous versions the jet would not be able to keep flying after a similar attack. I'll happily provide more information about the issue if needed. I can also provide the simple mission I used to gather this material in case the problem is hard to reproduce.
