  1. I posted a sample mission of something similar to this in the past, but the link is dead. So, I whipped up a quick sample (attached) to do what you want. Details are in the brief. Check the following link to see more info and lists in addition to the mainpanel_init.lua as EB has suggested. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=76289&highlight=cockpit+arguments Radio_Tune_Template.miz
  2. Sir, the thanks goes to you for leading the way. We are in your debt (Rep+).
  3. Thanks Morkva. Nice Work. Consequently, I've discovered you can add gain control by using a slightly different method. Instead of modifying the default file in your Mods/aircrafts folder, try this: Add the following lines to your User/Saved Games/DCS/Config/Input/a-10a/keyboard/keyboard.lua file. Backup the file After opening in Notepad++, Scroll down to the last "combos" entry and paste the following lines in after the last entry: {combos = {{key = "H", reformers = {"RWin", "RAlt", }}, }, pressed = iCommandPlane_Helmet_Brightess_Down, name = "Gain goggles down", category = "Sensors"}, {combos = {{key = "H", reformers = {"RWin", "RCtrl", }}, }, pressed = iCommandPlane_Helmet_Brightess_Up, name = "Gain goggles up", category = "Sensors"}, {combos = {{key = "H", reformers = {"RWin", }}, }, down = iCommandViewNightVisionGogglesOn, name = "Toggle goggles", category = "Sensors"}, You don't have to use this code exactly if you prefer different keys, or reformers, but this one works well for me. Method works for the A-10A, Su-25T, Su-25, and the P-51D.
  4. Is it correct that auto thrust no longer functions in the Su-27 and MiG-29s? Moderators: Perhaps this question should be moved to the FC3 - bugs and problems thread? Thanks.
  5. Yes it was. Now that I think about it, it may have even been demonstrated in one of Ironhands old Flanker Training videos.
  6. Thanks for replying Guys. Your explanations makes a lot of sense. I prefaced my question with the statement that I realize the pipers are in different positions for exactly the reason you state. And .... I don't think you're wrong. I'm just glad that you've confirmed that I'm not crazy. As a long time Lock On supporter (don't let the post count fool you), I enjoy flying the T-Frog almost as much as the A-10C, due to the Semi-AFM. You may remember a few of our encounters in MP as well, which is why I trust your proficiency on this issue. I seem to recall that you've put in quite a few hours in the Frogfoot too. I've also had an opportunity to test your assertion that in the ALL position, the gunfire from the pods automatically switch back to the centerline cannon once the pods are empty. You do have to release the trigger, however, for the reversion to onboard (fixed) cannon to take place. This is something I didn't know. It still begs the question, when and why did this change? Was it a correction in FC2, or perhaps one of the patches? Waiting for GG to weigh in on this one. Although, he may not recall, since he spent so much time in the F-15C :D :smilewink:. GreyGhost? Anyone? Edit: Thanks Viper for confirming the correction.
  7. This may be a dumb question, but ....... Back in the Flaming Cliffs 1 days, I distinctly remember the ability to fire the onboard cannon in conjunction with SPPU-22 pods on the T-Frog. The default setting would fire the centerline cannon, the 2 setting fired one set of pods, the 4 setting fired two sets of pods (if 4 were carried) and the ALL setting would fire the centerline cannon and all 4 gun pods at the same time. As of now, I can only get the 4 pods to fire in the ALL setting, which has the same behavior as if on the 4 setting. I do realize that the pods and the onboard cannon's targeting piper are offset even when the pods are in the full up position. Question - was this ability originally implemented incorrectly and fixed in subsequent patches from Flaming Cliffs 2 on, or, am I getting so old that I just can't remember how to fire ALL guns at once? If this ability still does exist, how the heck do you do it?
  8. Various monitor configurations located in the DCS World\Config\MonitorSetup folder. Try using a different one by selecting it from the in game options menu, or edit one of the defaults to suit your needs (backup just in case), although next auto-update may restore if you screw up. If, you're going from 2 screens to single screen, you may also need to select a different aspect ratio (or not) to get the view you want. Give it a try.
  9. Turning AWACS On/Off Tested turning the AI AWACS on and off. It works quite effectively through flags by using condition-stop condition in the AWA (advanced waypoint action). Flying an A-10C, I set a cockpit argument to manipulate a given flag on and off. I then used the flag to control the AWACS AWA. Under "Start enroute task" - "AWACS", he can be ordered to turn on and off in this way. This suggests that anyone flying an A-10C, Ka-50, P-51D, or future clickable pit(s) can manipulate the AWACS radar if the mission designer sets it up in this way. I realize that ideally, the pilot of the AWACS would want to be in control of this action as well. However, since the Su-25T cockpit is unclickable, the only way it can be done consistanly, is through the use of Slmod or (F10) options command in single player. If needed, I can attach a couple of simple missions later to illustrate its use.
  10. Wondering if it's possible to turn the AI radar on/off using flags in conjunction with the silence option in the advanced waypoint settings via F10 menu or Slmod. Would be nice if it can be manipulated in this way. I'll have to test it eventually. Another clever mod. Thanks.
  11. Manual modification of this app may be easier if you're having problems. Once you take a look at it, you'll see how simple it is to customize. Instructions on how are here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1550811&postcount=1136
  12. TH, Thanks for taking the time out to look into this. Haven't tried it yet, but I'm confident and a happy camper nonetheless. I'm glad to know the solution didn't take you away from the important things for too long.:smartass: Your good rep should get even better. Darnit, "You must spread some more rep around before giving it to TurboHog, blah, blah . . . . Will someone please give this young Man some rep for me. Thanks!
  13. np. Although, I can't take the credit. I got the idea from Sorcer3r's new Green Shkval Mod.;)
  14. Rename the file "Interleave.bmp" to "shkval_mask.bmp" and put it in the DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\Ka-50\Cockpit\Resources\IndicationTextures\ folder.
  15. Sure, paths changed. That doesn't mean Modman doesn't function. You'll need to edit your skin paths accordingly. You can do it by selecting the Edit pack button and changing it, or by selecting the Mods maker button at the GUI screen and putting your modded files together from scratch. As it is, you still have to follow the readme file accompanying the Mod and put the files where they need to go. Even if ModMan is updated by the author, you're still going to have to do this for many of the old wonderful Mods from the past. The question is, do you want to overwrite the original game and/or keep adding directories and files that weren't in the original install everytime you add something, in which case you try to keep track of what you changed everytime World gets updated? Or, do you want to uninstall all and restore everything back to original with one button click? I currently have (57) mods installed into DCS World that can be added or subtracted at will. My personal preference is to do the work upfront and not have to worry about it.
  16. Actually, it is easy. Only (2) files need to be edited (before doing this backup the originals just in case there's an error). Take a closer look at Modman.ini and Registry.ini in the main directory. Open the modman.ini file (in Notepad++), copy one of the existing entries, add it to the end, make the necessary directory edits, and renumber the game# to correspond to the next sequential number. Open registry.ini, copy the Path, CIDcount and Date lines of one of the existing entries, paste it to the end and make the corresponding directory changes. No need to be specific about the date and time of the Date line (I don't think it really matters). Once ModMan is started, select your new entry from the "select game management" window. Modman will ask you to show the way to the root directory of DCS World (or whatever game you're trying to manage) for the new entries as if it was a new normal game installation. There you go! In addition, you can edit the Cat_(yournewgame).txt to expand catalogue entries, or you can also modify the (yournewgame).jpg image in the Modman\required\ directory for your fancy new gui image if you'd like (not necessary though). **Disclaimer: I got tired of waiting for an update, so I tinkered with this myself and found it to work flawlessly. However, without the author's permission, I can not release my edited version to the public, i.e. do this at your own risk and for personal use only.** :music_whistling:
  17. OK. But as the OP inquires, what does F8, or RCtrl-F8 do? Is it even functional? Controls option only lists these two commands for the Ka-50 and the Su-25T as Targets view and Player Targets / All targets filter. When pressed, views don't change and nothing seemingly happens.
  18. TH, Check, check, check and check. I had things set up properly, it just wouldn't work with the mission I was attempting to use it on. Made a scenerio from scratch and it works as advertised. Brilliant addition. Thanks again.
  19. Thank you for this initiative TurboHog. It is a great addition for Shark Pilots. However, I can't get JTAC to respond. I noted that originally, in the first post you wrote that the virtual Pilot could not be heard (something similar is stated in the documentation under current problems and limitations), but that comment has been removed from the the first post and replaced with the video demonstrating its use where the pilot can be heard. Am I confused about the limitation? I also noticed that in the video, you comment that the radio is tuned to channel 3 VHF FM 32.000 Mhz, but the documentation states that the frequencies should be tuned on the VHF AM (page 4 under R-828 frequencies and setup). Incidentally, I can get the JTAC menu dialogue to appear in AM or FM frequency, but can't get a response in either.:helpsmilie:
  20. Sully, I just re-read your post and see that UDP was not your issue. I should refrain from posting before falling off to bed.:D I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure you need not worry about Upnp. Try checking windows firewall (assuming you're running Windows OS) and confirm that dcs.exe is listed as an allowed program.
  21. Hi Sully, welcome to the forums. Open the UDP port the same way you set the TCP port. The radio button for UDP should be right next to the TCP button (at least its this way in my version of the software). Just repeat the process, selecting UDP instead of TCP. No need to set the protocol timeout, or the map to host port. Default should work fine for these two settings. Once you've done this, you should see both the TCP and UDP port settings in the Definition List at the bottom of the page. Hopefully helpful.
  22. Yeah, weird right. I assumed the game was at halftime or almost over. Speed, don't hate ND. We did nothing to Earl Campbell. You should be mad at Alabama.:D
  23. Awwwww Grimes. I like you, but I think your perspective of ND is the real downside. Go Irish!
  24. Here's a video showing the effective use of hack during a flyover. Skip to 2:00 if you're in a hurry. Incidentally, I see Virginia's Gov. is about to enjoy the game at 4:33.
  25. You didn't mention the logbook. If you've only (1) PC, the simplest alternative would be to use different pilots in the logbook where you can select the aircraft you each want to fly. This will at least keep your stats separate until you get that second PC. I would be more concerned about whether or not you can have each account on a different PC now that they have been semi-combined.
