Basic Fighter Maneuvers (BFM) and Air Combat Maneuvering (ACM) is as much an art as it is a science. There is no move counter move, only basic fundamentals. After that it's up to your experience, skill and ability. It always helps to have a friend. I recommend Robert Shaw's Fighter Combat Tactics and Maneuvering. The book is very thorough, but it can be hard to read as is it very technical.

Actually a turn can be held. Keep your speed up guys. Don't just try and pull the bandit into your gunsite. Watch your G, and keep your speed up. Also, you start a severe disadvantage in energy the way that Stock 1v1 dogfight mission is set up.

Nope I was to busy grinning from ear to ear. I thought I'd add the tid bit about the paint scheme, because I asked the same question. That brought back to many memories to not share.

I flew that very plane in the video. It is a P-51C. The "B" label on the fuselage is actually just part of the Paint Scheme they're using. Off of the foundations website: "One of the most famous of these modified two seat fighters was used by Dwight Eisenhower and was named “The Stars Look Down”. Ike rode in the back seat of that Mustang over the beaches of Normandy to direct the invasion during D-Day" The Collings Foundation is a great group of pilots and staff. The P-51 flight is highly recommended :thumbup:. We pulled 6.5gs and did a bunch of aerobatic maneuvers, even logged the time in my actual log book. :pilotfly:

I apologize if this has been asked and answered. What about altimeter setting? I noticed 29.92 put us close to airport elevation. Are we leaving it 29.92 or are we receiving the proper setting when checking in with the range officer/ATC?

Nevermind, not fixed. Reinstalled game. I'm now playing at lower settings, will post those in a few minutes. At the lower settings I didn't have a crash, but definitely some stutters and hiccups that got progressively worse. Attached is the latest error log. Error.txt

I figured it out. I updated directx using the directx_aug2009_redist.exe No crashes so far. Will update if the problems reuturn. Zooker

Sound files were modified and still crashed. I flew the second mission of the F-15 Spring Campaign and crashed shortly after take off. I received nVidia OpenGL Driver error. I was unable to get a screenshot of the message, if it happens again I will. The error file and crash file are attached. Error.txt crash.txt

In ...Sounds\sdef there were three files that were lower case: menusounds.sdef modern.sdef track.sdef All now start with an uppercase letter. I will not have time to test this out until tonight. However, could the other errors in the log be caused by the same thing? The following are lowercase: .../Aircrafts/_Common/birds.lua .../Aircrafts/F-15C/Cockpit/device_init.lua .../Aircrafts/a-10a/Cockpit/device_init.lua Also, what do the following errors tell you? DXDefTexture: failed to load .\FUI\Common\knopka-main.tga, D3DXERR_INVALIDDATA. DXDefTexture: failed to load ./Temp\~mi3A3F.tmp, E_OUTOFMEMORY. DXDefTexture: failed to load F-15-cockpit-reflection.tga, D3DXERR_INVALIDDATA Again, thanks for the help...I'll report back when I have had the chance to test out the changes.

I'm experiencing the same issue. It seems there is a memory leak. Crashing occurs more quickly with missions that have a lot going on. I copied a couple error files (attached). Attempted changing the size of the page file like Mustang did here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=53874 That did not work.
