Thank you guys - You've given me some terms I didn't know to look up on google! Another thing..And this is a very very nooby question but I'll give a scenario.. I was flying a mission online with a friend and was at 12k agl about 10 miles out from the target which I spot at my 2 o clock...So, target is spotted...What's the best way to quickly get that target up on my TGP? I find it often takes me a long while to take something from the game world and place it on my TGP, much less get a good Mav lock. What I've been doing is.. *See target, place aircraft so that the target is at roughly my 12 o Clock and enable hud pipper (though sometimes the hud pipper has an X through it and jumps across scenery..Anyway) place pipper over target zone and set SPI *Open TGP and Slave to SPI *turn craft so target is at a relative 2 o clock and set AP to alt hold and orbit.. Problem is, I know this in theory but it never goes to plan! I find I'm too close to the enemy... So anyway, say it all goes to plan and I begin an attach run with the GAU-8, I often find there is too much "hud clutter" (target SPI, WP etc etc) to clearly see the target...Is this normal? I just find it very hard to pick up a black spec on the ground through all the glowing HUD info! Thanks :)

Hey all, Just spent ages on Sunset Sierra and couldnt find things. The NVG is so bright thateven with the hud in night mode I can't see anything! I searched google and online but cant find anything, though I remember BS had this option! Thanks

True, but sometimes A10 totally kills my FPS, granted it's not entirely optimised though. I think my PC would cry if I combined Crysis graphics with DCS physics, lol

Henchman as I've said before, it'd be fantastic to play this game in a world with the graphics of Crysis BUT...We have 2 options...ED can spend their resources making a beautiful graphics engine which nobody can run, and which the military don't care about (meaning we'd probably never get the sim at all), or we can have a brilliant sim with lesser graphics... Look how long it's taken Beta 5 to get sorted...They're adjusting things like velocities of missiles through the air and extremely complex systems through a multiple layered sim..Their target market (i.e most of us here) simply don't care about how good the graphics are. Yes it's great we have HDR now, sometimes flying through the clouds is really quite beautiful, however I'd take well represented and realistic systems and avionics over Crysis style graphics. I also think that statement probably represents most people heres views - Look at the community playing IL-2 still (hell, even Falcon 4.0!), versus the community behind Crysis..The communities speak for themselves, and graphics definitely didn't win that battle! The fact is, Crysis will disappear as soon as a new graphics engine surpasses it...DCS-A10 will be around considerably longer. If we wanted graphics over realism we'd all be playing Wings of Prey. I am not willing to accept second rate systems so I can have shiny graphics. Neither are most of us here!

A bear sim? I'd buy it in a second... DCS: Bear Simulator...Excellent I'd like to find out in a realistic simulation whether or not bears do actually **** in the woods..

thanks all - that works, but now I have another issue! The pibl marker latching itself to the right of the hud! Heres what I do.. 1: setup GBU 38 (min release alt 2000ft, CCRP mode) 2: Targets at WP 2..select wp2 3: SOI TGP and hold china hat fwd to auto slew target 4: slew round and find target, china hat up to zoom, tms fwd and switch to point track.. 5: hold tms fwd to set to SPI Hit Master mode button to select GBU-38 CCRP Now, usually, this results in the target having the PIBL line come up out of it, i turn, manoeuvre into position and pickle at 5 seconds... Problem being, for some reason, the pidl line is latched and solid on the right side of the HUD...Is this a bug or do one of you know where I'm going wrong? Thanks for your help :)

I make SoP by holding TMS up right? did that, no luck...Very strange because I can usually hit targets every time...Possibly a bug?

I was flying straight and level toward the target, 250knots and CCRP set in the profile..hmm

Hey guys, practising online with a friend and we're both locking up targets with TGP, flying at varying altitudes and whenever I try to drop a GBU-38 or GBU-12 I get a CCRP INVALID symbol...Why;s this??
