Weta43 haven't you read the whole post , your comments are kinda redondant at this point and by the way in this sim you can fly with labels on.. it is ok it is not girly ;) but it's something you will think back at after more experience flying, and say wow , these guys were right , it's way better without labels just promise me that you will tell the next noob the same in 6 months , i'm getting tired ;)

:) yeah it's tough at first but keep at it it's like in a race sim you don't wanna enter the server and say OK new guy here ,everybody drive slow !! Nahh hit the gas pedal !! you will wreck at times and make friends ;) but you will get better and the community will have one more online

well said GG and furthermore we are saying " trust us friends , take the jump you will have a great time !! " I too at first felt anxious when we took padlock off (we never used labels) but now I wouldn't want to use it , it is so much more rewarding this way .

Or there's an idea .......the new flyers could just learn to ID friend or foe anyway... if you haven't flown online don't bother giving advice to those who do ... and I don't mean 10 or 20 hours worth. don't get me wrong , I still respect those who don't . so no flaming please but look at it this way , it's like a person commenting on a restaurant who has only heard about it from forums or ordered take out from it once or twice ... GET IN THE RESTAURANT AND SPEND SOME TIME THERE BEFORE YOU JUDGE IT LOL :)

We understand the sim as best we can and use it as it stands to prevail in a simulated engagement. Everyone suffers from the same handicap of having the sim not up to reality visually, so what ? We fly we fight and we have fun . Just saying it's in my opinion that it is more fun without labels, more realistic, and more rewarding. But it's fine if people want to use em , it's a game enjoy it the way you want but don't come saying that realistic tactics are doable with them on lol

I agree that the "scalability" of labels is practical to accomodate different customers expectations. If it makes more people enjoy lomac and buy and support the product we all love it's more than cool . BUT , I urge you people to turn those labels off and come fly online where you will experience something wonderfull against real life virtual pilots :) or with others in a coop against the evil ED AI :) C Ya up there

first of all I don't use labels , so if by "you" you meant "I" wich would be in fact you , you should have said "I". ;) OK so if someone would go through the trouble of making the label so minuscule and colorless why use them in the first place ? There is a plane there !! You will get a big rush when you discover it without labels. and since labels are off there is a big chance that guy didn't see you yet !! cool , heart pounding, move in for the lock , take the shot :) HE FEELS THE LOCK, now he sees you (on his RWR not by magic labels) he turns , locks you , your missile reaches him and he goes all fire and smoke . That's what is fun in my book :) Yes I am a LOMAC fighter pilot and no, I don't know any real fighter jock , and frankly , even if I admire their courage and dedication , and value their real life tactics,we are talking about a sim, a game , I don't know why you insist about talking about real life pilots who enjoy labels . It's irrelevant. well there is one and only one reason... it's a show stopper too lol you look outside your canopy and see a LABEL !! lmao that's why you don't see labels online at all , it's totally unrealistic, arcadish and prevents the use of realistic tactics... but hey if you or people want to use them it's fine with me ... Konny is right still lol

I also don't question people's taste , if they want to fly with labels it's fine ... That opinion of yours about FOV is totally unrealistic, the pilot has but to turn his head around a bit to get more than 180 degrees SA in all directions... with labels you see a big blue or red sign 100X the size of the aircraft showing you where it is . There is NO chance you will not see it. and no , it doesn't mean that the defending pilot would see the threat if he just happened to look there with labels off , in fact there is a lot more chances he would not see it , therefore he has to look thru his instruments, radar or EOS system on top of just scanning visually ... Konny's statement doesn't fall flat at all in my opinion. I'd like to hear about those "simmers who are fighter pilots in real life " of yours :P and see exactly where they "all" said that labels added to the sim's realism (in some respects) . ;)

Good idea !! way to go WS504 !! I suggest turning labels off too , If you can't find a plane without labels than it's the second thing you need to teach yourself . (the first being to ID friend or foe)

the MOST important for new people online is LEARN TO IDENTIFY friend or foe , and when in doubt DO NOT TAKE THE SHOT enough "accidents" happen because missiles start tracking another target on the path to the one you have locked :( so make sure what you are shooting at is ennemy and that no friendly is between you and your target . Shooting down a friendly happens to the best of us still , it is courteous and polite to acknowledge the mistake and APOLOGISE , then being double carefull not to do it again . I you do it again , disconnect and reread the manual YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING WRONG. Remember that in rus planes the radar/EOS system will try to track the target when it is losing lock by switching to the other mode , sometimes you think you still have the radar on and no "F" appears on the hud so you are thinking "this plane is ennemy" make sure by turning on your radar again ,ALWAYS turn it on again especially in a close combat mode . you will often be really surprised at the "F" appearing and realise you were about to shoot a friendly. Read the briefing (in fact it would be cool if ED would replace the loading screen plane image with the briefing page while we load :) ) Don't take off from taxi way , act like you are flying a real plane and your enjoyment/immersion will double . the Savage 77th have a help page for new pilot here http://www.s77th.com/LomacHelp.php And those of you who still don't fly online are missing out on a great time ...nothing compares to fighting a "real" virtual pilot . Exactly what I'm getting at... it's too much ... it's exagerated... we have the power to say no, and we have to do it now before it's too late , we are not sheep who are only good for shelling out $$$ so that this and that company become rich ... I'm all for companies making million$ , but do they really have to make zillion$ ? It's like those cable or satellite TV companies , we shouldn't have to pay to watch TV ... they should GIVE us 35 minutes of programming if we watch 25 minutes of advertising... they already make a bunch of money selling those advertisements, but they have started charging us to watch it on top of that and people said ; OK we'll pay !! cause we are sheep !! anyway... I'm ranting and sorry about that my friends but our money oriented society is ruining our environment and our freedom (under the guise of protecting it) and we let them do it and that's what really pisses me off . PCs are one of the most beautifull tools ever invented for creativity ,culture , arts, community etc... we can't let money grubbing companies make it a tool for policing us . I say NO ... I just wish my opinion counted for something

:) the tone of my post is of constructive criticism :) I don't know if starcrap is good or not... I am against invasive programs , soon if we let some companies run free we will have dozens of programs working in the background reporting what we own, update and where we go . It's not because someone sells me something that I agree to let them roam in my personal computer. Yes , I know they got EULAs that say just that but I'm still against it . I want to own the game I bought and be able to reinstall it at my convenience on any machine I may own in the future without having to ask some company for permission to do it. Only us the customer have the power to say NO , enuf is enuf , we like the product but won't rent it or have our privacy invaded by it . If I hadn't been a big ED fan already I would have never bought FC with starcrap . I'm sure piracy is an issue but I don't think it's big enuf to justify me losing my privacy . Funny thing is , it's a big possibility that way more people would have bought FC if it was starcrap free.

I agree that lockon, with advanced AFM on all flyables , bug free and with network optimised for multiplayer and playable on good systems at acceptable FPS would be something ... In the present state of things , and considering that ED went with starcrap activations... I really advise not trying to charge more $$ I love the game and support ED big time , but I won't pay more then what I paid for FC to rent a game . Also I'm sure that if the game ran good and bug free on good computers that a lot more people would jump at the chance to get into a fighter jet given a little more publicity and ease of acquiring the product.(without starcrap)
