  2. I never opened up the joystick but I did open up the throttle to clean up the pot (see here http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=13539) so I'm thinking it could be something stupid like say an unsoldered wire , try to open it up and see , hey you never know ... but if you do fix it don't blame me for not getting a cougar :icon_madu
  3. Hey I'm no Merlin , althought my G/F tells me I can be quite "magical" at times  but check out lockonfiles.com , many missions to download , be sure to get those for the proper version you are running . Have fun
  4. Yeah I think that's it from what BGP said , but I don't like it , you know I become used to my stick behaving a particular way , I can stay on someone's wing and I know exactly how to move my stick to make my plane react, in refueling it's all porked and doesn't behave like I'm used too ... In other words I hate it lol, I wish ED could explain to us how to adjust or get rid of that particular behaviour .
  5. :( Hope someone from ED could help us modify that curve data for refueling... maybe there's a .cfg or something that could be edited to point to a specified curve fot the refueling sub mode ? I hate the way it's modeled right now , I fly like a retard jerking off ;) (not that I ever saw one lol )
  6. Not sure if this is a bug or if it was modeled this way , when I hit the R key to bring out the refueling boom and pick a refueling station my plane's trim jerks heavily and whole stick behaviour is porked , it responds like it's on valium or something and normal stick movements are minimised to nothing... hope it's not "modeled" this way cause it sux to have my plane's whole behaviour change this way , my plane should respond the same way wether I'm flying, refueling , flying formation or coming in for a landing on the Kuz. Anyone else experience this ? P.S. X-45 in use
  7. Hey Rich , weird problem you are having , it looks like the button is sticking , since you are not using the SST software I wonder how a command could be continually sent from the stick . Try mapping that same button to something that would show up in notepad and see if it is sending all the time. Not sure why you would want to use trim as a button since it would normally trim all the time until you would release the button ,and at release I guess it resets itself to center ? I mapped trim to the front rotary of my X-45 on an axis with a gentle curve and a fat deadzone , this way trim can be applied in a analog way , I can trim a little or I can trim a lot . If you need advice how to set up your X-45 using the saitek software , I'd be glad to help , I can also send you my profile so you can see how I map things , I got the trim and zoom working on rotaries without jitters. good luck
  8. :icon_eek:Nice hair britgliderpilot !! :icon_eek:
  9. Good job Dodger , the page and interface looks great keep up the good work :)
  10. zooming out I found the cause for that unexplained shadow
  11. Sure more details :) but understand every questions are answered on site . There is a help, rules and FAQ section . how's that ?
  12. Hi Thomas !! that would be cool thx :) how's that ?
  13. too much tabasco sauce in that last chili batch ...:wc-smoker what ? ohh that's not what he meant ... :icon_redf soooorry  talking about matches TAW and S77th just had a match last saturday , man that was fun , nothing like a real match to make the old adrenaline pump work again :biggrin::biggrin::biggrin: a big Salute to TAW :icon_pidu  One thing that is really fun in a lomac league match is that you will NEVER see anyone ditch their plane to avoid a bad stat record , people fight to the end with honor .
  14. me too , after all my hardwork modeling it :icon_wink :horseback:horseback:horseback:horseback
  15. In my opinion it's better to delay , especially to include the trees as BS is a helicopter sim ...
  16. Good analogy :) let's put the "personal" back into the "PC" if we let all these software developpers install crap on our computers we lose all privacy . Furthermore who's got just 1 piece of software installed ? if every stupid program we have can scan me to death and report back , how slow will my computer become ? how many things are running in the background ? How many moronic programs will give themselves permission to report/update or whatever everytime I open up my comp or connect to the internet. I especially like those programs that you can't turn updates off , once a week , once a month but no off switch ... I have to wait in freakin line to access the net ... It's a trend , a bad trend , I say no to it . There's even a fridg that connects to the internet to supposedly report in to the manufacturer if it has gone berserk , but I really know it's counting how many beers I had and chooses just the right time to send me e-mails to improve my credit or dick size . Technology is a good thing , let's put the money grubbing corporations back in their place and say no to privacy invasion .
  17. Using "weighted" calculations is just lying to yourself IMO , if those guys that showed up once got a perfect K/D ratio so be it , they earned it , they weren't killed were they ? It was the truth as it happened . Can't get any better than the truth . Looking at those stats we can make our own opinions of the real meaning , let those guys show up again and try to maintain it . I so hate the banks that use "weighted calculations " to screw you over interest on mortgages ... ohh BTW the firts 10 years you only pay interest and your capital doesn't go down ... now bend over ;)
  18. thx man , good to know :) lol , wasn't too bad , if it lasts ... and think of all the alcohol I can buy with the money I saved ;) I think the pot for the rudder must be attached to it right in the top part of the throttle , If you have a very small screwdriver I think you will be able to get to those 6 screws under the handle. If not you will have to remove the throttle from it's base to free it some . Also you will need to remove the screws from the grey part of the handle (the cover) no other screws in there but I think you won't be able to separate the handle in 2 if you don't. it's worth the try , if it's not working properly now . Good luck and let us know how that went . also like IguanaKing said maybe you could get a spare part from saitek if you need one , support forum is here ; http://www.saitekforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=75
  19. Hey =RvE=jr !! yeah , it's down ...
  20. happy to report that crossing fingers worked :) It's working again !! cleaning the potentiometer did it . hopefully no one else is going to have to go through it but if you must here's the break down ; 1- remove 4 screws from the top of throttle (allen key) 2- remove 4 screws from the bottom of throttle 3- remove friction screw from bottom of throttle 4- separate base from top of throttle 5- remove screw opposite where the friction screw hole is , watch out not to lose the spring when the plate falls off . 6- look for spring 7- remove 2 screws that secure pot from throttle shaft 8- the pot is attached to a plastic plate that slides into grooves, slip the whole thing out . 9- remove the nut that holds the pot on the plastic plate . 10- there are 4 metal fold down brackets that hold the 2 parts of the pot together , unfold them gently , you can unfold just 2 completely and leave 2 barely off and lift one side and slip it out of the other 2 .(reduces risk of breaking one) 11- there is a disk that rotates on a friction plate , that disk has 2 parts that touch the friction plate , the pin that holds all together looks like it is press fit there , I didn't take the risk of removing it , was pretty sure I would never be able to replace it there . without disasembling ,the only way I could think off for cleaning between the disk and plate was to wet a piece of paper with the cleaning solution (either spray or rubbing alcohol, I used magnetic head cleaner )and slide it between the 2 and rotate the pot through it's full motion , make sure you insert the paper between the 2 parts that are touching the disk . I did this a couple of times , wetting a couple of pieces of paper on both sides with a Q-tip . 12- use the Q-tip to clean what you can reach of the disk . 13- reverse steps to put back together 14- look for spring 15- test using the control panel hopefully this will work for some of you as well . will let you know if it lasts .
  21. ok , found this "how to clean pots for servos" and I'm going to give it a shot http://www.m3sc.org/servo_pots.htm#Servo 3 crossing fingers here
  22. Thanks for all the help guys , I really appreciate it , hope I don't have to scrap it too. I pried it apart (finaly lol) guess I was just too scared of breaking it , it's open now and I've taken the pot out ... that thing is sealed (I guess that's normal , never saw one) I don't have cleaning spray , does compressed air work ? if not I'll get some spray tomorrow , and.. dumb question lol : where would I spray it ? where the rotating shaft sticks out maybe ?
  23. when I apply throttle, power doesn't come up regularly anymore , when I look in the calibration screen while bringing the power up I see the red line fluctuating and often coming down to zero when it should be gradually going up . tried opening the darn thing ... removed all the screws from bottom and handle and friction screw, I still can't split the base apart to have access to the insides , maybe it is possible to clean the mechanism or sensor ? Must be a way to open it up ? also I saw a pic in a previous thread showing a modified X-45 throttle (buttons were changed ) can't find the thread :( anyone knows who did this ?
  24. guilty :) and thx lol --------I can't find the thread but it was something about new ubi projects and we had just lost the R27 EA and I was missing it ;)
  25. Great news !! thx Olgerd any picture available yet of the new map ?
