  1. Ok so online testing. Jtac to A10C works well but we knew that. Both played the same mission Offline and got laser Diamond in the HUD using the A10A so the capability is there. Tried same mission online and no Diamond ? That is to say JTAC is ai controlled, no interaction on the radio as per SP but no indication on the ground for the A Tried similar mission in MP with me as JTAC and mate as A10A again no spot. quite frustrating......any ideas ? could it be a laser code ?
  2. 63 yeah got that, Long time ago I was an FAC and we used to lase targets for A10s in Germany. A10s would call "Spot" and we where briefed the Pilot could see a laser return in his HUD. Therefore he could track and drop LGB using the Spot mark in HUD, using laser return from FAC or AFAC with a laser equipped aircraft. I just answered my own question in mission editor. Swapped out an A into place of a C in a little mission I had setup for FAC training with the C. No JTAC interaction in radio but a Diamond appears in HUD over the lead vehicle of a group the JTAC is tasked to attack. So seems like you could lase for the A. Will have to wait til tommorow to try it online with my mate.
  3. Hi guys, simple question, can a JTAC lase a target for an A10A pilot in game ? Will the pilot see the "spot" in his HUD ? Having good fun with a mate online doing the FAC thing
  4. Damn mate, have you been flying at my house when I'm not in ! I quit smoking, but I pull the curtain across the door at the back of the "boys room" Oh honey it's too dark here let me open the curtain ....Track IR goes nuts, The Cat and whines just the same :noexpression:
  5. Way better than the hit and miss way I did it, sorry for not getting back sooner but looks like that was a good thing :-)
  6. Cougar MFDs here, excellent for A10c and Ka50. Limited use in FC3 as I don't think the buttons are I game. However you can map any function you want to them. I have yet to fly the A10A so don't know about the key map yet
  7. I did it with the L-39. Copied some of the SU-17 loadout lines to the L39, can't remember how but I'm at work, when I get home Ill look at it. Problem I had was the lines of text, don't mention what the actual weapon is, so It was a bit hit and miss. I was trying to get the AA IR missile (name escapes me) To make the L39 into an opponent for some dogfighting practice.
  8. I've been holding out for Something, Anything to make the Saitek panels I have work with something other than FSX or FS9. Some where on these forums I think somebody got some info to display on the X52 pro MFD and was working on getting a gauge to work on the Saitek Instrument panel. I love my panels but dear god, Saitek dropped the ball by not letting them function with any other software. I search a lot on a regular basis and thus far, it's not happening. Basically Saitek have offered no support, input, advice, software or interest in adapting their product for the end user. Surprising in a market where multi sim compatibility would probably sell more units ?
  9. Ooh, more info, more info Vampire, tell us of such wonders.
  10. Failed to load :smilewink: Man that just brought back a whole load of memories. Anybody remember the Harrier or AV8B. Sim ? You had to fly off a carrier and fight a campaign over Timor Island ? That was smooth to fly on the earlier PC's. I had it about the same time as Chuck Yeagers air combat.......which we sneaked onto a couple of computers at work ! Wait up I found it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AV-8B_Harrier_Assault Superb smooth and with an absorbing campaign element I really really enjoyed this sim, and that would of been 20 years ago ?
  11. I just swapped out my Triplehead for a a new ATI card and have gone the eyefinity route. I know that's not much help. Point is the Triplehead served me well for 3 years and if I hadn't decided to spend out a bit on a newer card, I would of stuck with it. The effect on my 3 screens is just the same, higher resolution with eyefinity. Plus if you went Triplehead , it only uses 1 output on your video card Leaving you spares for monitors with instruments etc. Cali, I know what you mean, but the wide effect is great, you focus on the centre naturally, but your peripheral vision gets stimulated to, You sort of blank out the monitor bezels after a while. I've been running a 3 (well 4) screen rig for 3 years now and wouldn't be without it.
  12. None of the Wing Swingers can, if you happen to find yourself flying them. I understand that if your where in MP then others would see them swing but you wouldn't. The Migs the SU-17, F14 and Tornado. No swingee :(
  13. Thats pretty much how I got mine setup, though I have 1 7870 card running eyefinity and it works for me. I use Hawgtouch for the UFC on the bottom monitor. Helios is a bit of a mystery to me. Cant seem to get it to input the buttons into the sim. I got the couger MFDs so have physical switches in place. Though as I understand it either Hawgtouch or Helios would do the job just fine if you go that way.
  14. Forgive me if this is common knowledge. I'm moving around my setup/cockpit, Forgot I had the A10 Vc Free version so thought I'd have a look. Now here's the bonus. Regardless of whether you have an IPad or not the PC Server software has an excellent feature for arranging you display, MFDs and such. Up til now I've had to go in and out of the sim and edit the output file to get MFD's in the right spot on the extra monitor I use for them with the Thrustmaster MFD units. With the VC software you can drag them around on screen and alter the size of them and get them aligned without the hassle of alt tabbing and reloading flights. Wish I'd found this a long I've ago. You don't need an iPad to benefit either. Apologies if this is well known but it put a smile on my face today :) Nick PS. Finally got to grips with my X52 pro as well so it's been a win win kind of Sunday
  15. Keep at it CD but RL always takes precedent (I know we dont always like it that way :-) ) You have already provided us with a remarkable tool, I think it s the best thing Ive encountered in 25 years of simming !
  16. Touchscreens I hope this is an appropriate addition to anyone reading this wonderfull thread. If you dont have a touchscreen and think you might like one, a few weeks ago I got one of the "kits" off e-bay from Hong Kong came to about £40 (UK) which is about $60 (US). You have to set about your monitor with an amount of robust dismantling, but Once the seller sent me the software, it was a real easy set up. I got a cheap 17inch LCD monitor from a carboot....ermm and then another LOL. Im going to have to get a second touch kit now we can use the network. In summary, the touch kit I got was cheap and works really well, and brings Hawgtouch/A10 to another level, cant imagine how I got by with out it :joystick: Happy to answer anyquestions....... CD I know this may not be the ideal thread but It seems relevant, feel free to move me Nick
  17. Ok heres how its done in detail (ish) The Shore campaign mission 01 Extract the Mission file drop it on your desktop. lines 790 to 796 look like this blue = { [1] = 16, [2] = 4, [3] = 2, [4] = 3, }, -- end of blue and lines 913 to 930 now look like this country = { [1] = { id = 16, name = "Georgia", }, -- end of [1] [2] = { id = 4, name = "UK", }, -- end of [2] [3] = { id = 3, name = "Turkey" }, -- end of [3] save the file, reinsert it into the Shore 01.miz file and overwrite the original. Open in ME and off you go, chocks away chaps its the RAF. Im guessing that this would have to be done for each of the missions in the campaign but Im not sure yet :pilotfly:
  18. Ok got it ! So far only edited 1 mission The SHore 01. In Notepad++ I extracted and edited the Mission lua. Changed Turkey for the UK You do that at line 921 and 922 and line 793. I can now add UK assetts to the mission. and fly it with them in. What I will try next is adding the UK aswell as the Turks so stand by Uk country ID number is 4
  19. Thanks Cibit, I was faffing around with the editor last night and trying to Add the Tornado, It wont have it just keeps switching to a Turkish A10, Also when you do save it and fly they simply arn't there. You can edit to your hearts content with the original countries in mission. Ok having had a tinker with the Mission file. Which bit am I changing ? and what number is associated with the UK ? in the mission file I found this coalitions = { blue = { [1] = 16, [2] = 3, [3] = 2, }, -- end of blue red = thanks again for help so far
  20. I understand that once a mission/campaign is created it is impossible to edit the countries involved ? In LOMAC you could edit the country an aircraft belonged to in the meinit.xml I How would I do it in DCS A10 ? I want to do this so I can edit the campaign a little to have some RAF Tornadoes flying in support of the US in the Shore campaign. For my own personal perversion you understand
  21. Fantastic stuff boys, it all works great for me and over a network onto 2nd PC too. SO I get touchscreen UFC on main A10 PC and gauges on a second PC. Now got to Re-re arrange my desk !
  22. Hi, got home last night, just found an opportunity to try multi screen goodness. Using the "0.0.0.0" ip address on the laptop and the appropriate IP on the main PC, I now have gauges working really well. No lag that I can see. Have yet to try Hawgtouch on both PC's with the idea of having UFC on main PC second monitor with touchscreen kit and Gauges on second/laptop. So far I am really very impressed....now all I have to do is re-arrange my desk YAY ! thanks C.D.
  23. Good news, it was the right click, properties click unblock of the gauges dll that solved it. All gauges present and correct...now I can sleep, 5 hour drive tommorow to try it out. How am I going to sidestep the girlfriend though ?? Thanks once again CD
  24. Damn hope this isnt getting tedious. Installed as described. gauge dll is in same folder as exe. run as admin all permissions there except special permissions no gaugey :helpsmilie: Windows vista home premium, with SP2 if thats any help, thanks for your patience CD
