  1. So if I delete the software, I should get $60 back into my bank account right? Because my understanding is I paid for a product by prepurchasing it.
  2. I'm considering returning DCS A-10C, but was wondering if there is a time window that I must return it within.
  3. I see the ejection sequence has not been redone in DCS A-10C. I'd like to see my pilot actually shot out of the aircraft like the new ACES seats, and slow down in speed dramatically before the chute opening. As discussed before, DCS/LOMAC's ejection sequence doesn't even come close to fitting the profile of the real ejection limitations. Will limit the amount of deaths placed in the logbook if we can eject properly.
  4. I'm WAY behind on responding to this since I don't subscribe to threads, sorry. No the sound was not taken from that show. The audio from my clip, and the video you posted, are both taken from VFA-122's demo though which uses the same soundtrack per flight.
  5. Well...I enjoyed DCS A-10C beta for only a few days. I'm finding it's still quite limited as far as what's possible. I'm unable to play the campaign without crashes. Several cockpit switches trigger other things to happen requiring many of the key commands to be memorized, including all key commands on the HOTAS which I thought we matured out of after Flaming Cliffs, in-game performance is quite unoptimized, various weapon systems such as the TGP are buggy, and pixelate after bhot/whot changes. Many training missions still lack voiceovers, and the trigger system for event changes is very buggy. Voice comms aren't there yet. And multiplayer isn't 100% yet. This really only leaves you with the quickstart missions that replay the same voiceover in each one, and free flying, which is not a bad thing to have fun with, but it isn't that impressive 7 days later. You can do just as much learning about weapons and flying by reading through the manual as everyone else and not really be "behind" when the final version is released. Hand flying the A-10 isn't that hard at all, actually much easier than the Su-25 in FC. The main thing is don't deflect the stick fully aft, or it'll spin around like an Extra 300.
  6. Go to the main installation folder, go to the doc subfolder in there, and read the main manual.
  7. They're awarded through your score. Mission score/total score. No specific reasons. Although there are indexes based on your rank. Only certain ranks can achieve certain awards with a given score.
  8. Also I'm not sure what you meant by "popping" a capacitor back on. They're soldered to your motherboard.
  9. Agreed that all 5 sound like a bad overclock. It'd help if you also completed your hardware list with the following: -Power supply brand and model. -RAM configuration. (3x2, 2x2...etc). -Cooling system for the overclocked parts. Please also disable your overclock, and then define the state of your BIOS settings, such as: Turboboost QPI CPU base clock/fsb speed CPU Multiplier Load line calibration C1E/Enhanced Halt State SpeedStep/EIST Spread Spectrums Voltages Also can you confirm you've run a Prime95 torture test using small FFTs for at least 1 hour without any failures?
  10. Starting the A-10C is pretty simple when it boils down to what really needs to be done. Initial scan to make sure everything is set to normal/safe. Set up your radio presets if you want. Booster pumps/fuel flow sw's on. Battery on, and inverter on to get some AC power. Establish further AC power with the APU or GPU. Ext lights. Entire engine start is done automatically by moving the throttle to idle. APU/GPU off, avionics/radios on. Oh and the SAS, EAC, and radar altitude on. Boom, done! lol ^ obviously simplified. After 4 or 5 times you start memorizing it, like song lyrics. P.S. It's especially useful to get a flow pattern. (ie. start on the left rear console, and do a quick scan through each subpanel all the way to the right rear console, then back and forth again.
  11. No worries, this doesn't contain any "under 18" footage. Hope it hasn't been posted before.
  12. I'd say option 1 as long as we get a note saying the training mission is complete. Otherwise people start thinking a trigger didn't work right. At least I do...
  13. Sorry I can't help with your FOV settings. You might try looking around in the View.lua file. But that's an awesome projection setup. Never seen such high resolution on a projector before. Usually it's fuzzy and there's an obvious line in the center. Yours is very color-rich and the center line is pretty blended. Although playing without lights on in your room must get old.
  14. Does anyone have another mirror to the Saitek SST software? Saitek's website always takes a good 2 hours to download. I really need the SST software for the 52 Pro on Win7/Vista x64.
  15. Same. I was getting single digit FPS while using the nvidia control panel. After setting everything to use application setting, it's gone up to the 30s.
  16. Switching between whitehot/blackhot/tv mode using the litening pod totally blurs out the MFCD it's on. Not sure if thiis is due to my video card or an in-sim bug. No..I didn't test this in a mission where I added 500 tanks. It happens regardless of the mission. Intel Core i5 750 @4.1 GHz EVGA Nvidia GeForce 9800GTX+ Driver version 258.96 4GB G.Skill DDR3 1333 MHz Windows 7 x64 Ultimate ASUS P7P55D Deluxe Motherboard
  17. I don't know for 100% though. The server has 2 people on it, but it's passworded. //Nevermind, evilnate answered. It's a yes
  18. You can fly multiplayer missions in the beta, can't you? In the multiplayer servers I see a dedicated server running.
  19. No sound in-game at all, but music plays in the menu. I'll try dumbing down my bit depth on my sound control panel and see if that fixes it.
  20. Aaand that's about as long as it took. Seeding now. :)
  21. Big thanks to everyone that seeded. Just got it installed. Time to grab hours worth of food, and check it out :D. I'll return the favor when the initial w-o-w is over.
  22. Could anyone seed for a short amount of time? I have a pretty fast internet connection but there's only 2 seeders right now, each uploading at 20-30 kbps...
  23. It may be a little late to add something like this into DCS:W, but last night I started thinking about something that would in my opinion improve the DCS experience. DCS would be great with sort of a gambling feature that you could enable/disable for the single player campaign. For example, you start out with a low amount of DCS points. If you were to go through the training missions, each training mission is worth extra DCS points based on your performance etc. As you enter the real world missions, you gamble a certain amount of your DCS points. Winning means obviously a much higher reward, but dying would result in losing those points. DCS points would go towards things like logbook promotions, rewards, ribbons, maybe even unlockable media? I think it would add in a bit of suspense when it comes to fighting the enemy. Rather than having an entire map filled with "flaming cliffs" (pun :smilewink:), where it's only a matter of hitting escape-->recover, you really have an immersive reason to try and make it home safely.
