  1. My god, a useful comment on YouTube? The world is coming to an end!
  2. Not engine whine, JFS whine. Startup. Should sound like this:
  3. The sound of the JFS whine was never reproduced with the F15 in any of the Lock On games, so it wasn't technically lost, just never there.
  4. I tried that audio mod and the Mk20s lost their sound completely. And they forgot the sound of the JFS on the F15.....

    FSX Discussion

Honestly, I've had more CTDs with FC2 than I have FSX. FSX is just extremely slow to load for me because of the addons. Opening the program takes about 2 minutes. The select aircraft menu takes about a minute to load, and my settings keep getting reset. I blame all my problems on the fact that I'm running Vista.
  6. I too have the strange black panels inside the cockpit, however it only occurs on two missions: A Visit to the Port and Firing Range.
  7. When I launch at stand-off range he shoots the missile down. And the AI wingman is a fudging idiot and gets shot down before he even does anything.
  8. Now that I've pretty much figured out my bombing problem....now I'm having issues with SA-19s shooting down all my Mavericks and shooting me down before I have time to pop chaff.
  9. The urge to survive does nothing against cheating SA-19s :joystick:
  10. You can't. The game is all about the plane, not the pilot. If the pilot were invulnerable and the plane wasn't, you would still get shot down. Making the pilot immortal doesn't make any sense.
  11. That is true, however Norwegian F16s have a drag chute, yet they're the same size as a standard F16. The F15 is larger than the F-2 and it doesn't have a drag chute either.
  12. A spread of 60 with two Mk.20s released at about 4,000ft with CCRP can get me three kills on average. I forgot how the PRS and SGL thing worked. I guess I just haven't been diving in steep enough with the iron bombs. I've tried CCRP with the iron bombs and even with that they fall short. I've always been watching the AI fly straight and level, drop the bombs and have them land in a pickle jar. :P
  13. I'm curious about the drag chutes. The original F16 does not have or need drag chutes, yet certain export variants do, and the F-2 does as well. Do the wheel brakes just suck or something? I've never thought of the drag chute as a good idea....it gets tangled up, you have to repack it, if you jettison the chute it can get sucked into an intake, etc.
  14. The manual refers to "milliseconds" and the cockpit label reads "RIP INTVL MSEC".
  15. Aha. Now the only issue is the render distance of the targets in FC2....they don't even appear at 2 miles :P I'm also having problems with the ripple settings. They worked before but now they aren't. I select RIP PRS, and no matter what time I set, they both drop simultaneously. When I select RIP SGL, with "02" on ripple quantity, no matter what time I set, only one bomb drops. The manual is a little confusing, as it says that the time is displayed in milliseconds, with the maximum being 5 milliseconds, however the maximum number is actually 95.
  16. I have no choice--the pipper won't appear in the HUD until around 1500 feet. Got a video demonstrating that? :P
  17. What if I don't want to hear fake explosions and gunshots dubbed in? :P
  18. Doesn't matter where the target is; on a hill, on flat ground, I can never release my bombs until 1500 feet no matter what altitude I start from.
  19. I'm having some issues with bombing runs--primarily altitude. My Mk82s are constantly falling short, even when I release with the pipper dead center on my target (and sometimes even after my target). With the Mk20 I frequently release too low and the bomblets don't have time to do their thing. I start from 4~5000 feet, but the pipper refuses to appear in the HUD unless I'm in an insane dive, and by the time the pipper does appear, and I'm able to release the bombs, I've already hit 1500 feet and the bomb is just going to dig a hole in the ground. I tried CCIP steering, but it's very touchy so I gave up on it. As for rockets--and to some extent guns--they only seem to work on thin-skinned vehicles. I dive in on a T80, let loose 24 rockets, then nearly empty my gun on him, and the bastard still won't die. Considering that I've used all my AGMs on AAA, I usually don't have those to use against them.
  20. I figured it would sink from all the lead :hehe: It was probably detected and mistaken for a friendly sub until it surfaced...
  21. That is all very true.....however considering that most rockets aren't painted orange.....common sense?
  22. Of course. The US has more planes in the air than any other country, so naturally the number of incidences is going to be higher. It has nothing to do with being a Yankee, it's just statistics. Although I admit after watching one A-10 video.....how the hell do you mistake orange panels for orange rockets?
  23. How is sending two ASW aircraft into international airspace "taking action", and what might they be "taking action against" considering that neither Japan nor the US have threatened Russia? Response against what, exactly? A military exercise that doesn't involve Russia at all?
  24. Sometimes my fingers type faster than my brain can process :P
  25. I honestly could care less about what lies beyond our solar system. It's not like "hey, there's microbes billions of lightyears away" is going to change anything. I'm all for scientific advancements through experiments in orbit, but looking for ET is just stupid.
