Last newsletters are only a summary of the last update changelog. I think it should add recent changes and things comming in the near future. Or at leats different information besides the last update.

Totally agree with this. We get full details of statues, old ruins, hotels but no military structures, sam sites, strategic sites (factories, refinary, etc).

This is needed asap. The only way to make a SEAD mission is with skynet. In the last years, ED has incorporared 2 new functionality to SAM systems; 1. Fire Range reduction: but is useless because if you leave that reduced range after a missile launch, the lock is dropped and the missile explode. 2. HARM "evasion": it has multiple problems. Some systems never turn on again after a harm detection, others with the capability to defend from harms, "shut down" but keep transmitting, so the harm hit them anyway, etc etc. ED, please launch a module for SAM/IADS or something related. That is the only way you will be putting some effort and not leave it in the past, bugged and with limited functionality. Remember that as a figther/bomber/plane, you can engage against air threats and surface to air defenses. So, you are leaving "half" of the possible threats unusable. -
Finally Iraq map was released. But, there isn't a single SAM site depicted. ED, if you will not depict military stuff on your maps, at least give us the chance to make our own with static objects. "SAM Sites Asset Pack" Its a great mod to populate SAM sites. Like you did with Massun92 mod, wich was a great adition to DCS, you should integrate "SAM Sites Asset Pack" or at least part of it.

@Maestro Hi, we appreciate that you keep updating syria MAP. But I dont know why SAM sites have been ignored. There are a few sites depicted. Just 1 SA5 site (4-5 in total) is modeled, but instead of revetments there are bunkers. Would be nice an update of SAM sites. Consider at least the "most important". Turkey: patriot at Incirlik AB and at a hill near gaziantep. Hawk at a hill north east from hatay airport Syria: SA5: kuweires AB, near masyaf, near homs, eats from damascua, north from Khalkhalah AB S300: lakatamia AB, near masyaf Israel: patriot near safed, at haifa

As Acs_dev said, the missile and the radar logic are already done (kirov class unit), ED only has to make the 3d moddels. SAM systems are almost abandoned on DCS; no new systems for years, SA5 wrong search radar, track through terrain, very basic logic (fire at max range, never turn off prevently trying to evade a ARM, etc), totally independent functioning(no iads), they turn on the search radar because they "sense" there is a hostile in the area, so why bother with EWR units, because they dont have any function on SAM behavior. Maps focus on custom churches, palaces, hotels but SAM sites are totally ignored, or when depicted are on hills or blocked by terrain, structure or trees. The few maps that have sam sites, they are totally basic, zero custumization. Sinai is kind of an exception. That could be partially fixed with static objects like revetments, elevated ground or platforms, but we have nothing usefull. Time ago ED released max interception range for SAMs. It could be useful, but if the target leave this "new max range" after missile launch the SAM system break the lock and trash the missile. So, totally useless. Recently they released ARM detection, but some sam systems stop firing but keep emmiting so harms hit them, other systems turn off but never turn on again, other system never turn off. The probability of detection is set to skill, but that is a terrible choice, it should be sey by the user. Again, totally useless. We need asap that ED focus on military things like SAM systems.

Very simple. 2 different batteries close to each other. But you need that they dont engage the same targets. If you put 2 batteries on different groups, they engage the same targets. -
Hi. NASAMS "original template" (1 SR, 1 C2 and 3 launchers (120c), all units on excellent skill) can engage up to 10 targets simultaneously. Tracks: NASAMS no bug: Original template, against 12 targets. NASAMS engage 10 targets simultaneously. After 120c hit the first target the NASAMS engage the last 2 targets. NASAMS no bug extra LN: Same original template but with 6 LN. No differences in engaging targets. NASAMS no bug extra SR: Same original template but with 3 SR. No differences in engaging targets. NASAMS bug 2 C2: Same original template but with 2 C2. It fires 2 missiles at each target, but only engage 10 targets simultaneously. With 2 C2, instead of fire 2 missiles at the same 10 targets, it should fire 1 missile at more simultaneous targets. This same bug was reported some time ago with other SAM system and fixed. It's unbelivable that ED don't tested on all SAM system -
Thank you Ugra, without any doubt you are the best terrain 3rd party. Keeping updating and adding stuff to syria has been awsome. I'm glad that this last patch focused on millitary things. But I think that SAM sites its a debt that this map has. I know that there are a few sam sites already, but this region is full of them in reality. At least you could moddel the most important one, like s300/400, s200 and patriots sam sites.

Great idea, ED please add these radars as a usable unit. SAM functionality its totally abandoned. They focus in moddeling explosion blast to move vegetation over real important things.

The units we have in DCS are not similar to the real military equipment of Argentina an Chile. Would be great to have an assets pack.
