  1. I still don't see them either. I assume the new vehicles were not yet released? Or is it a specific optional module we need to download? Didn't see one in the module manager options in DCS though.
  2. This is excellent news. Could not successfully install the mods, so getting some of these assets added officially will make it much more straight forward. The quality looks top notch and I am excited to see some new and updated assets. With luck we can get the JAS-39 added officially as an AI plane as there are a number of now more common planes that are just not in DCS, like the Gripen, Rafale, Super Hornet, modern Flankers/Fulcrums. So more new and updated AI planes would be a good thing.
  3. Never had any version install previously. Tried both the release branch and open beta (though I don't have that anymore) installs and neither seemed to work.
  4. Quick question. TO install, it says to do the following: C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\mods\tech Though for me they do not show up in game, but I am using the release branch and not the beta branch. So I installed the files to: C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS\mods\tech And the assets do not appear in game. Do I need to use the beta branch for these mods?
  5. Currently have HOTAS DMS forward & HOTAS DMS aft mapped two a keyboard & HOTAS button to control targetting pod zoom, though I would like to map this to an axis. Would this be possible, and if so, how do I go about mapping it? I was able to map the targetting pod zoom to an axis for the F-16C and it works so much better as I have a slider on my X52Pro throttle that works as a zoomable axis.
  6. Will any of these units ever be added to DCS officially? I assume they won't, but the work on these additions looks amazing and worthy of being added officially in game.
  7. Thanks, I will look into that. Light bounce on the walls and a wood door is enough to throw it off, and sometimes light from a window in the very far left. Should these LED lights be sufficient to prevent that? Blocking all light can be a bit difficult in this room. Summertime reflections seem to throw it off more, maybe the intensity of the light is higher.
  8. About half a year ago I purchased a Grass Monkey IR, the 60 Hz Jospeh II. It works well, except when there is ambient sunlight bouncing off a wall. During the winter months it works well when there is less ambient light, and I mainly use it in the evening after it is dark. But even minor sunlight can be an issue completely throwing off the tracking, even after tweaking some of the settings in Grass Monkey OpenTrack. I am wondering if similar solutions like the Delanclip Fusion Pro or Track IR offer better performance with ambient light, or are they all more or less the same?
  9. Very excited to see an improved Su-25 coming to DCS, and for free. ED must be applauded for this. My main concern of course is still the too accurate enemy ground fire from machine gunners in hummers and APCs. The tracking is far too quick and accurate, and I still have more problems evading BTRs and BMP-2s than I do Shilkas or Vulcans which is not really realistic. I feel like this makes the air to ground harder and less realistic than it should be, and hopefully this is addressed before the updated Su-25 rolls out. I also feel like this may mean a full fidelity Su-25 variant is coming in the future. The flight model is excellent, and the new 3D model and cockpit means a large part of the work is already done. Hopefully we see the new F-15C cockpit/3D model ported over to the Flaming Cliffs version to.
  10. I do like Nevada. Though it does look a bit dated compared to the newer maps the texture pop in is not as bad. And I put DCS on an WD SN850X 4TB NVMe, have a Ryzen 7800X3D, and RTX 4070 Super so my PC is not low end either, but the newer maps like South Atlantic and Kola have long texture pop in when switching views. My other complaint is the massive amount of random cranes everywhere on the map. Just looks... odd. The Grand Canyon is low in detail. I believe ED has said they plan to introduce updates to the Caucasus & Nevada maps. I do hope they make the Grand Canyon look much higher in detail because it always looked poor, which is disappointing. Otherwise the detail is still quite good, and there are some nice airbases like Nellis, Creech, Area 51 and Tonopah. There are many valleys and mountains which makes for good air to air and nice air to ground. Large urban area as well if you want to to air to ground in a large city or air to air over one. It is certainly not a realistic map for combat, but I have enjoyed it a lot. Considering its low price I would recommend it. I also like South Atlantic, which looks amazing, and air to air/anti ship in the mountains and fjords is amazing. The downside is limited air bases for realistic missions. I just bought Kola and may prefer South Atlantic over it despite Kola having many more air bases and being a more realistic for war missions. I do not have Sinai, Iraq or Afghanistan.
  11. Since this patch I cannot seem to lock onto things with the F-16C or F-18C. Even using the HMD I cannot lock onto things with the AIM-9X. In the menu it does not look like my controls were unassigned. Anyone else experiencing this?
  12. Certainly a MIG-29K or MIG-29M would be more popular. MIG-29K would also have naval capability. I understand there might not be enough information to do a full fidelity module on these specific variants, but they would make perfect candidates for a lower level of fidelity. I assume some systems can be used from the MIG-29A/S as well as the full fidelity MIG-29A. I see a place for both types of variants and modules. For things with excellent documentation, a full fidelity module is doable. Where the info is a bit less available, those variants can be done as a lower fidelity module.
  13. This might be a newer model though the pictures claim it is a prototype, not a production aircraft. The SMT in service have the large humps on them. There are other modernized MIG-29s like the MIG-29BM which is supposedly similar to the SMT. Though it is used by Belarus and I doubt there is much info on it, and only a handful exist. A better option for a modernized MIG-29s would be the MIG-29K or MIG-29M/M2. Both are production planes in service in decent sized numbers. MIG-29K is used by Russia and India, while the MIG-29M/M2 is used by Egypt, Algeria & a handful by Russia. If not enough info exists, well, they can be made into lower fidelity modules and I'm sure they would sell. Makes a lot of sense. For those that like full fidelity modules, they can get the MIG-29A, for those that like more modern/lower fidelity, they can get the modern variants. And plenty of people will likely buy both.
  14. The FAQ says it is similar to the FC3 F-15C, early 2000s, though they claim it will have the AIM-9X and JHMCS. Wish they would update the FC3 version to have JHMCS & AIM-9X. Maybe for a FC2025/2026 upgrade?
  15. It would be nice to see, even if limited to a lower fidelity FC style aircraft. Likewise for an Su-27SM/SM2. There might not be enough public info to make the more modern variations, so they can always do a full fidelity MIG-29A and Su-27S, and then later build off those modules and make simplified lower fidelity modernized versions when they cannot be done as full fidelity modules. I'm sure both will sell.
  16. Do we know what time frame it is? JHMCS? AESA radar? Passive Attack Display?
  17. I really hope that we can get the updated F-15C & MIG-29A cockpit and external models for FC, even if through a paid FC2025/2026 upgrade. Likewise, if they can add the JHCMS to both versions. It would be nice if they were doing an earlier model and a current model with the new radar & JHMCS. Kind of like how the F-14 has the A & B models. For the F-35, is this full fidelity? Kind of interesting that they can do one in that level of detail if so. I'd be okay with a lower fidelity version in a future FC upgrade as well. Still, questioning how they can accurately model this in full fidelity. They need to add some more & newer AI units. Rafales are quite popular in the middle east with Egypt, Qatar and the UAE using/buying them. Su-35S, SU-30SM2, MIG-29SMT & MIG-29K as well. Some more modern planes for NPCs/AI would be great. With all the maps being made in these regions it would make a lot of sense to add some more of these.
  18. What reason is that? Is it a lower fidelity level? If so I would welcome it, but kind of doubt they can do one to full fidelity with the same realism as some of the other planes. I would also pay for an FC 2025/26 update if we could get the lower fidelity MIG-29A & F-15C updated with the new cockpit and external models/textures and some other quality of life updates, maybe something like the JHCMS as well. I have to assume we'll also see an Su-27S in full fidelity some day, seeing that the work on the flight models is largely already done and that it has some technology similarities with the MIG-29.
  19. Is there a mod that does this with the FC3 F-5E? Though still it would be nice for this to officially be in game, along with some other upgrades (if applicable). I would even consider other types of F-16s. Like the European F-16A upgrades. I know those would require more systems to be rebuilt, but it would be nice to see some of those added with an option for those that own the F-16C to purchase at a discount.
  20. I feel like if they're charging for artwork and minor fixes they should also bring in a new variant. Example, a number of F-5Es received some moderate upgrades to carry four AIM-9s or AGM-65s. It would be nice if those versions were added in a bundle, for something like $20-30 (depending on the variant/work required) upgrade for existing owners. If I recall a number of countries modified the F-5E after delivery for two extra AIM-9s under the wing and it was a quick and easy modification. Something like that would be nice if it was included, but for the AGM-65 variants I assume more changed to the cockpit and whatnot would be needed.
  21. Nice update. Those screen shots made me remember there are no AI T-62s in game, so it was a surprise to see them even as props. I believe this area is new? Nice set up, a lot of these places make for nice mission settings. Just placed some vehicles and helis around for a quick mission.
  22. This is the USB error I get. A PC restart fixes it, but it is annoying to need to restart my PC half the time I want to use a peripheral. My other issue is short cuts. For some reason when I click a button, in this case Numberpad 0, it always adds control + alt. I don't want a complicated key combo, why can't I just add a single short cut? And why does the short cut constantly reset? Sometimes it works, other times it resets and you have to play around with attempting to lock the short cut to a single button press. The software for this is infuriating.
  23. Using it at night for now. Seems like even minimal (regular ambient sun light, not direct sun rays) bouncing off a wood door are enough to spoof it. More sensitive than I thought. My biggest issue right now is how much I need to turn my head for it to move in game. I would like to do is make it more sensitive to head movement. Lets say I want to look at my 8-0 clock position in game. With my head I am looking at around 10-0 Clock. The problem is half my screen is in my peripheral vision now. This makes off angle AIM-9X shots tricky, as well as flying in general. What settings would I need to use? I am looking under Mapping Properties, what is a good setting for all of the axis? Current example of Yaw, believe this was in the tutorial but need something with less head movement so I can keep my PC screen centered. Other issue is resetting center. Do I need to set a new center each time I start up the program? I assume even minor shifts in the camera will throw it off. Sometimes I also get a USB error when trying to start tracking. A reboot of my PC fixes it, but is there any reason why this happens?
  24. As long as the mission editor is not affected the new Instant Action Generator seems nice. Though I would like to emphasize the mission editor shouldn't be neglected in the future.
  25. Recently got the 60Hz Joseph II Puck from Grass Monkey Simulations, but can't seem to get it set up right even after watching the tutorials. Sometimes I can get it semi tracking, although it has lots of issues with the view spinning and stuttering all over the place which requires a restart of the software. When it does work, it seems like the dead zone/view resets in odd ways. For example if I want to look below the stick in the F-18, it snaps to looking back over my shoulder. Or if I want to lean forward, if I lean too far forward it will again snap the view to the rear. Tried the calibration feature a few times... but can't get anything useful. For mounting, I am not quite sure what we're supposed to do. If I put it on top of my monitor it will be a bit too high and it has problems. Even then I am not quite sure how to mount it, as it is loose and does not seem to have a pressure screw to tighten into place? So it has some slop and isn't quite fixed in place. For light, seems like any light in the room will cause issues. I am not quite sure if that is what is going on but I can't make my room pitch black and don't really want to. Do you more or less have to use this in the dark? The preview of the camera shows some light bounce off of a wood door and seems like it may be trying to track that. And yes the puck is turned on with a battery in it. When I switch it to on I see the 3 IR lights showing in the camera preview, so it does detect it. The tracking is just all over the place and illogical. Is this more or less what I can expect or is there some fix for it? Was hoping for something simpler than VR but this seems to be far more complex and even more finicky which I didn't think would be possible. Edit: Looks like your room needs to be completely dark to use. So night use only, or in rooms without any windows. Even light bounce on walls will ruin the tracking. Even then the tracking has maybe a 3rd of a second delay and head movement/dead zones are awkward.
