  1. You still have not provided any tacviews or tracks showing this, hence making your claims have no factual basis (as always). Please refrain from posting in this forum section and cluttering up topics with this nonsense, unless you have some actual hard data to show.
  2. Known issue. Will probably be fixed once the new pilot models get implemented.
  3. Do you have a tacview showing that? How do you know when exactly it goes active? Are you sure you werent in the RWR blindspot for a few seconds? It is also very possible that the missiles was active and only picked up your aircraft at a later stage with its beam. So many factors at play here.
  4. PD you can notch. Pulse against the sky or newer PESA/AESA radars you really cant.
  5. I do wonder how this new cloud system will affect existing missions and campaigns since it's template based and not set in the ME like regular clouds (to my understanding). I hope it can be easily applied or automatically translate to those existing missions.
  6. Can you tell us which type is launching at you? And what missile?
  7. Agreed. Hope it gets the same treatment as the A-6 afterwards. Would really fit into that early cold war era that we are getting more and more jets in. A cold ware era scandinavia or baltics map would also be pretty sweet if someone made one.
  8. Oh yeah this would definitely be an AI only thing. The Prowler is literally all classified and way too complex for the scope of DCS EM. Just something to fly from the deck and provide some basic jamming and SEAD capabilities.
  9. Like mentioned previously, we are initially only getting the USS Forrestal (CVN-59) - the others maybe later but that is not decided yet. What I wrote was simply the most logical scenario of how HB could implement the other ships along the full fidelity A-6. And Ranger because it carried the all-Grumman fleet, Saratoga for obvious reasons. Same ship class and same era of 14A's, B's and A6's.
  10. Agreed. It really only happens with an A2A loadout or clean. Thing is a literal rocket lol.
  11. Sure, that's also a bit due to the fact that it's way too fast down low and has no damage modelled if you break limitations. The real one would not exceed 1350kph. ~ M1.1
  12. Well, any plane can take out a single SA-10 or 15 by just flying low enough. I want to see you do that with heavy AAA, IR short range systems and manpads around the area.
  13. Only the Forrestal for now. The "class" was plnned in the beginning but this turned out to be quite a substantial task given all the small differences between the ships. My bet is that we might see another ship of the class with the A-6 or simply much later down the road. Doing all 4 like they originally planned to would take at least a year of hard work, which they are doing for "free" by the way.
  14. Now I'm kinda hoping HB might consider an EA-6A or even EA-6B AI for the full A-6E module - maybe even together with the USS Ranger or Saratoga. Just to really complete that 80's carrier deck.
  15. Hence why the russians rarely fly with the "zyura" HMD and rather use the vertical mode to get a lock and HOBS Archer shot. One also has to consider that a HMD-cue isn't always done under high G. In the case of the Hornet you'd pull the inital 7.5G (or less) max instantaneous turn, have your nose roughly on the enemy and compensate the rest of the lead with the HMD. A Hornet is really at home at low speeds and fairly low load factors where you can point your nose around freely or perform a pedal turn/falling-leaf type of thing. Same goes for the Viper - in lag you might be doing around 9G, looking slightly up or sideways with the head rested on the headrest (technique), which is often enough to "pull" the reticle onto the target. It all comes down to technique in the end. But it sure isn't as easy and carefree as it is in DCS where you can basically freely move your head around under high G and any kind of onset rate.
  16. If you don't mind answering, what is currently the base concept behind Jester LANTIRN? Like, how is it supposed to work?
  17. Afaik. only the pilot can rearm/refuel the jet via the comms menu.
  18. I honestly don't care too much about SWIP as employing those weapons (Harpoon, HARM, SLAM etc.) is fairly boring. Mk80's, cluster munitions and LGB's are the bread and butter of the A-6E and certainly the most fun. The TRAM turret in itself is very advanced for its time and has way better magnification and image clarity than the Lightning pod we have on our Hornet. Let alone the LANTIRN.
  19. If the other guy has no clue it really doesn't matter if he's in a F-22 or F-35 at this point - the other guy could be in a Mig-21. Don't know how much credibility I'd give these tell-tales of "awacs was totally up" and "it was all a set-up". Regardless, having no SA usually gets you killed and I think this is the point the guy is making.
  20. Well, with all due respect, jumping someone in a non-combat environment who is just cruising and isn't fenced in is just cheap. No difference to intercepting an airliner at this point. Would not have happened with an AWACS and other aircraft around.
  21. The F4 was a tremendous plane for its time. I think the best case for everyone here would be if Heatblur did an F-4J or even S after the A-6E. They have the technology, know-how and experience to do such multicrew jets. Would fit fairly well with the Forrestal and potential more ships of the same clsss if HB decided to include them with the A-6. And speaking bout anything but sterile, pre-determined 1v1's, a F-4 or Mig-23 is very much capable of jumping and shooting down a Tomcat or Hornet in a complex, high SA, combat environment. Some of the claimed engagements and shootdown in the Iran - Iraq war show exactly that, as well as the instances in Desert Storm.
  22. From what I've gathered the real one was even worse - especially in landing mode. It's primarily meant for weapon employment - the primary attitude indicator is the VDI.
  23. Same, also due to the fact that the B still lacks the actual B engine instruments thus making the A bit more "authentic". Also that 80's vibe off the Forrestal will be pretty sweet. Well, a 4th gen better outperform a 3rd gen in every area imaginable.
  24. Can't wait.
