You are dead wrong there Except F-14 is known even to people who have little interest in aviation and in countries that never operated F-4s. I am not saying that F-4 will not sell but Tomcat is like a popculture item similar to X-wing at this point.

I had no idea I can do it in multiplayer.

During long multiplayer sessions in the Viggen I often set up one waypoint just for visual navigation fixing. This is especially useful when I return to the base for rearm/refuel. Will we ever get something like this in an F14 Jester, so I can just tell him "use visual fix now" when flying over known terrain feature?

Naah, in my 6-pilot squadron two people bought the Cat just because TopGun 2. F-4 never got that big of a advertisement in a movie.

Yup, I would choose Ark Royal phantoms over US Navy ones any day, but realistically speaking USN is much much more popular than RN globally.

For me the reason is simple - I love old jets, but people I fly with want the newest ones. Having old jet with newest weapons will allow me to still fly missions with them without compromising anything.

Well, then people who say that want newer versions also want different experience - old non-fbw plane that is still useful in more modern settings in multiplayer, especially now when Tomcat's Phoenixes are so bad when compared to AMRAAMs

Thats a <profanity>ty argument. Why bother making F4 at all if other modules "can do the same missions, just better".

They got APG-65 - same as early Hornets.

Given that F-16 radar is not so great in both DCS and IRL I would say that the range difference could be more than just "slight". At first it seemed like a weird idea to have modern Phantoms, but why the hell not? Especially considering HBs new cooperation with TrueGrit which probably has plenty of sources in German F4 community.

Sadly when phoenix decides to loft to the stratosphere it doesnt matter if the target is aware or not.

I only fly multiplayer. Not fun going with fox-1s against fox-3s.

This is by far the most frustrating thing for me in DCS that effectively made me fly il2 much more often lately. F14 is my favourite module but since the update where Phoenixes act like anti-satellite weapons I simply don't see a reason to fly it.

If this feature appears, it should be possible to ban it on multiplayer servers. I have a chewy dog so I have to keep my rudder pedals locked which means I am too lazy to plug them in every time i fly. I use twist on my joystick for my FBW jets (and the viggen) and never had a problem during taxi.

You would be surprised. Hornet was my first module but I rarely fly it because it feels boring compared to F-14 or Harrier. The only thing that is niche among those is the Buccaneer. But Viggen is also niche and yet is hugely popular.

Amazing how you managed to butcher everything in their names but "SAAB" Tornado is big in Europe. F-111 has many vocal fans too. F-104 - also important plane with interesting flight model. Mig-29A was also mentioned over the years. Or AH-1 Cobra. Britons would probably love a Buccaneer. The list goes on and on.

We already have Forrestal. For me personally resources for another carrier model should be used elsewhere.

Thats BS... I can easily do AAR in the Hornet or Mirage almost with my eyes closed, but F-14 wobbles all the time making it 10 times more difficult. Still I would never use jester to refuel - feels like a cheat. Might as well turn on unlimited fuel in the mission editor.

The fact that you are trying to compare level of completion of these two modules basing on released screenshots. But with two different companies and therefore 2 different information policies that may not work at all.
