And it means absolutely nothing in terms of module popularity - for starters Phantom was retired when many of DCS players werent born yet or are too young to remember anything about it, it has little popculture presence. If Razbam makes it well the F15 will outsell the F4 easily, just like F18 and F16 outsells something like F14.

Not exactly true since you can land on the ground in navy jets but yeah I get your point. On the other hand A7 seems like a niche module already and I doubt adding USAF variant would increase it sales much but obviously the more detailed modules we have the better.

At glance it looks they are so similar it would be easy to just slap an air force livery on the E variant and be done with it.

Yeah and I am pretty sure ED a company with loads of Russian developers would be more than happy to break Russian laws regarding state secrets or whatnot. They said many times that modern redfor planes are problematic but I guess its never enough. Dont forget to ask why why dont have F-14D too

My point is that from developers perspective there is no much difference between providing a sound file for each radar picked up by RWR and providing frequency data for oscilloscope to show. They can even simulate doppler effect by distorting these frequences accordingly.

If Viggen's RWR can have differend sounds for each radara and its mode I dont see why F4 cannot have different oscilloscope screen readings for them

For me its simple - my squadron buddies will want to fly Hornets and Vipers, so the newest possible versions of an old jet will allow me to fly with them without huge capability gap, but still without fly by wire, with steam gauges etc.

were they allowed to fly them from the backseat? I thought this was only in case of emergency.
