Just tried turning Vsync off to see what kind of FPS my machine is capable of pushing out and noticed something a little odd. No matter whether i'm in the cockpit view, external view or in the main menu view my FPS is always 64. With Vsync turned off i was expecting the FPS to fluctuate/vary depending on what's being rendered and especially to max out when viewing the aircraft externally with no other scenery present other then blue sky. At the very start of a mission or if i pause the mission whilst playing the FPS counter jumps to 180, as soon as i start/unpause it immediately drops to 64FPS. It's exactly the same with V2.03, my FPS is capped at 64 ?. The common denominator is my Nvidia 970 graphics card, i've tried various settings but there is no change. I'm guessing that you have to play in "full screen" mode for them to take effect anyway ?. Unfortunately i can't use full screen mode as i export onto a second monitor and i can no longer use SoftTh. Any ideas/suggestions why my FPS is always capped at exactly 64 with Vsync turned off on both 1.5.4 and 2.0.3 ?. Thanks.

Ok thanks.... i'll try that, i just need to spend some more time playing with the INS to get my head around how it works.....early days :).

Today i have learnt how to cold start the Mirage and how to do a full INS Alignment. I'm looking at page 91 in the manual on how to select DEST waypoint's, however it's not working for me. The manual says that in order to select a different DEST waypoint number then you just press DEST 02 for waypoint number 02. What i'm actually finding is that whilst the DEST waypoint number changes to 02 in the PCN display as expected, the actual D/RLT distance/bearings values remain unchanged from those of 01 ?. The same if i select DEST 03 or DEST 04 the D/RLT values are still exactly the same as DEST 01 distance/bearings ?. I have programmed a five point practice navigation route in the ME with a landing waypoint at DEST 06. What am i doing wrong ?, please could somebody point out the obvious :).

Is this mod working in 1.5.4 ?. I understand that in order to get this mod to work you have to change the season to Fall, whereabouts in the mission editor do you do this ?. I haven't played DCS in ages, but i seem to remember that you could use to change the season under the mission briefing tab on the right hand side of the editor. All i can see at the moment is a list of Months, but nowhere can i see anywhere to change the season ??..... i've tried changing the month to September/October but still no desert scenery in game.....please could someone point out the obvious :). Thanks.

Considering this is a beta release it actually feels very complete... Outstanding work PolyChop ..

This might already be possible, but the ability for the commander to have independent control of the collective whilst in "auto hover" mode to minimize exposure time. I know it's possible to control the helicopter from the commanders seat but my idea being that i could fly behind cover in the pilots seat, put it into "auto hover", then swap over into the commanders seat. Having control of the collective whilst operating the HOT 3 controls would enable me to "pop up" from behind the cover and fire off the missile. Once the missile has hit, lower the collective to put the helicopter behind cover again and then jump back into the pilots seat and move.

My guess is that it's a training missile, it can't actually be fired but it has a "live" IR seeker head for practicing.

I've never used Dropbox before to share files so i hope the above two links work ?. -

Mirage verses MIG-21 Just fired off twenty of your Magic 2's with the new .lua file and only 4 four hits. Nearly all of my shots were from the rear hemisphere (MIG's 4/5 'o' clock position). The Magic leaves the rail, tracks nicely until the very point of impact and then loses it and passes behind the MIG. MIG was deploying countermeasures and so i removed it's two CM pods to see if that made a difference. Unfortunately the MIG is still deploying flares even through it has non fitted ??. Possibly the new seeker/slew limit adjustments are causing these near misses ?? -

Spent a bit of time testing your missile mod and compared to the stock Magic 2 my initial impressions is that your Magic 2 has more energy and better performance in general. However that said i have deliberately been firing your Magic 2 at less that optimal angles in my simple one on one dog fighting against a MIG-29 and i think that it's still struggling to pull "G" and turn. I have been using the AIM-9 mod for comparison and the AIM-9 in my opinion tries it's dam-nest straight off the launch rail to pull that "G" and get the kill.......the R-73 is similar and maneuvers very aggressively when it has to. The Magic 2 always hesitates initially off the launch rail for half a second and then starts guiding, if you fire from more favorable angles and distances then this is not so much of a problem. I don't know that much about missiles, but looking at the design of the Magic 2 and the amount of canard and fin area that it has i'd imagine that it's a very capable and agile missile..... i think that your Magic 2 needs more "G" pulling ability. The seeker head in the Magic is also very poor, probably the fact the the radar slaving not working is not helping matters. Many a time i was comfortably behind the MIG-29 with a perfect view up it's tail pipe and my Magic 2 was not seeing it, almost as if the ground crew had forgotten to remove those protective seeker head covers !!!. However to be fair the seeker heads on the AIM-9 and R-73 aren't that much better, sometimes they lock onto the target instantly... sometimes they don't and invariably the guns then become the best option. However i understand that the adjustments you made in your mod were not concerned with the seeker head and my above comments are just my observations. In general i prefer your Magic 2 over the stock one and will continue to use it. Thanks. -

I have installed your missiles_data.lua in the correct location but it prevents my DCSW 1.52 Release version from starting ??. Is this only intended to be tested in DCSW 2.0 Alpha ?. -
Eventually i just ran out of ideas and things to try and so i just deleted my DCS 1.52 Beta installation and downloaded and installed the 1.52 Release version. I now have my K-4 back up and running, it was working perfectly a month ago in my 1.52 Beta, but something has obviously been corrupted in that time. Thanks.

Moderators please would you move this thread to the Payment and Activation section. http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=38 In hindsight i should have started this thread there as i feel it might possibly receive more attention in that forum. Otherwise i'm going to have to start a new thread myself and have to explain the above all over again. Thank you to those of you who have replied, if you have any more ideas than please keep them coming as i'm stuck at the moment. Downloading the whole game (31Gb) again for one module is going to be an absolute last resort !!!... probably not going to happen.
-
Yes i am using open beta 1.52, i tried the multiplayer ACG WW2 server and it will not allow me to select the K-4. I can select the Fw-190 and P-51 no problem.

Thanks for your replies. Haven't had much time to play around with this today, but have made a little bit of progress. By removing the activation key in the registry using the K-4 code from this thread :- http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/Problem_with_Activation I can now activate/deactivate the K-4 module using the Bf109K4_protect .exe. It's saying that i have 8 activation's left. If i have the K-4 module deactivated and start up DCSW 2.0 and start the "instant action" mission then i will get prompted to enter the serial key and then it will load up into the cockpit view. If i have the K-4 module deactivated and i try the same with DCSW 1.52 then it does not prompt me for the serial number and loads directly into the F-10 view. I will probably move this thread into the payment and activation forum, and have a good search around myself when i have more time. Thanks

I tried to deactivate my K-4 module but it will not allow me to, comes up with the error below :- Does this mean that i have used up my activation's,..... but i've only ever installed it once ??.
-
Yes i was definitely set to "player" when i made my own mission in the ME to test. However that should not have any effect on the pre-made "instant action" and "single player" missions that came with the K-4. I will try and deactivate and then re-register the K-4 module. Thanks.
-
Yeah, i've tried starting from the :- Instant action K-4 single player Mission's Created my own K-4 mission and started it from within the editor. All default start in the F-10 Map screen ??.
-
Just checked my control assignments/axis and they were all found to be working ok in the K-4 setup menu. Have tried deleting my C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta folder, unfortunately it's still starting up in the "F10" map view. If for instance i start the "instant action" Take Off mission then all i get is an AI controlled K-4 on the runway.... it's not recognizing that it's a "Human" K-4 ???. Thanks.
-
Have just been trying to fly the K-4 in the "instant action" mission, however once loaded the mission starts in the "F10" map view ?? and i cannot select "F1" cockpit view which it should default to anyway. It's the same whichever "instant action" mission i choose and the same thing happened when i tried a creating and starting a mission from the mission editor (the K-4 was selected as player flyable). The K-4 single player missions also starts by default in to the "F10" mode, i can select the "F2" external view but not the "F1" cockpit view ??. I have tried uninstalling the K-4 Module, doing a DCS repair and then reinstalling the K-4 module but exactly the same behavior occurs. The serial number displays correctly for the K-4 in the module manager. I have no mods installed in my 1.52 installation and the K-4 works perfectly in my DCSW 2.0 installation. Last time i played the K-4 was about a month ago and it was working perfectly. Please could somebody point out the obvious or give me any ideas on how to fix this ??. All my other modules are working fine. Thanks.
