  1. Have noticed today that once the SA-19 has expended all it's missiles you can circle around it very close and it will not engage you with its cannons..... it will track you but it will not fire..
  2. Thank you Ricardo ...
  3. Yeah tried it without 1/2 refresh rate....... and it stutters when i cap my FPS at 29 in the autoexecfile.cfg file and use the in game Vsync. If i only use Nvidia Inspector 1/2 refresh rate and don't bother limiting the FPS at 29 in the autoexecfile.cfg then again i get stuttering especially when i turn the Shkval on. However if i limit the game FPS to 29 and use 1/2 refresh rate both at the same time...... it's smooth with no tearing????................... i can't win !!!. Using a EVGA 670 with latest drivers... Regards...
  4. Thanks for the reply and information. I cap my FPS at 29 using the autoexec.cfg file. Im using SofTh because it enables me to run my combined resolution of 1920X1848 in full screen mode. I need to run in full screen mode so that i can then use Nvidia Inspector to set half refresh rate as this program will not work in windowed mode. The above settings i have found after hours of experimentation and give me the best illusion of "smoothness" of flight. I've tried running the sim in windowed mode with my FPS capped at 29 and only using the "in game" Vsync but i get frequent slight stuttering here and there that really annoys me. As much as i like DCS World i have to say that it's the only game that i have probably spent more time tweaking it trying to get it to run nice then i have actually spent playing it !!!!. SofTH is versatile and has made a difference to the overall smoothness and the fact that it is not going to work with DX11 means that we will lose one of our options. Maybe DX11 and full 64 Bit support will make a big difference allowing DCS world to better implement the power of our machines and therefore negate the requirement for my use of SoftTh.... I believe that SoftTh has been made open sourced now and i just hope that somebody else picks the program up and develops the software further.... but your right, we'll just have to wait and see what the future brings in this respect:).... Regards Gunner...
  5. Hello I'm currently using a dual screen setup and whilst using SoftTh my average FPS might be approx 3 frames lower when compared to running the sim in windowed mode..... the sim just runs much smoother using SoftTH. With DX11 compatibility coming in the future for DCS World i was wondering what is the future for SoftTh ???..... is there an alternative solution being developed that offers the same functionality and also compatible with DX11 ? Cheers....
  6. Sorry im 5 days late :( ..... but would just like to wish you a very Happy Birthday peter :cheer3nc:, hope you enjoyed your day... Best Regards Gunner....
  7. Have the same problem, buildings when viewed in the Shkval just disappear when the range becomes 0.6km. Using a Nvidia GTX 670 with 320.14 BETA Drivers
  8. I have to admit to being a flight sim "Gypsy", i tend to jump between DCS, BMS, XP10 and ROF depending on what aspect of air combat/flying im in the mood for... However i always seem to return to the Black Shark, the mixture of low down combat flying combined with the KA-50s limitations makes the flying interesting. Unfortunately in my opinion the DCS World engine with it's fly through trees for both aircraft and munitions is what let's the Shark pilot down...... hopefully things will improve with Edge. Looking forward to the Huey, i'm hoping that it comes with a good selection of suitable missions...
  9. It's easy to reproduce, just take the Shark for a quick flight and trim it a few times and then take your hand off the joystick and press LCTR + T. If your carrying a bit of forward speed then you'll nearly do a loop the loop :).... that's if you don't rip your rotors off first... Since installing this mod :- http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/218201/ i have never had to use the "Trim reset"... Regards...
  10. As far as im aware no..... shame it wasn't a little more gradual and softer as it's very abrupt... If i ever have to do a trim reset i always push the stick forward slightly and that helps prevent the choppers nose from rearing up and slapping me in the face  !!!!. Ive been using PeterP's "unchain rudder from trim" mod for a while now and so i don't really have to use the "trim reset" anymore.
  11. When the F-18 module is released i think you'll do a good trade in these... Might be tempted myself if an aluminium version became available.
  12. roob.... I believe it's this skin he uses:- Available from here :- http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/216944/ I might have to install it myself as it looks nice :)...
  13. Slightly off topic but since we're on the subject of the Hellfire missile I just wanted to ask a question about the missile's capability. I used the mission generator to create a SU-25T missions and I was shot down by a Hellfire missile fired from an Apache. I replayed the same mission again, making sure to make myself a difficult target and the Apache/Hellfire combination had no problem shooting me down I'm I really this unlucky ???..... or is there something wrong here with the DCS Hellfire ???...
  14. Surely you haven't mastered both those airframes already ????... I've been playing the A-10C since first Beta release and I'm still having to refer to the manual... If you have mastered the flying/avionics and systems on the above two aircraft, i doubt the Huey is going to keep you occupied for very long, no disrespect to the developers intended. I'm looking forward to the new Huey and learning to fly a conventional helicopter, but there is still plenty to be learned from playing the old modules yet.... So I'll just have to be patient :smilewink:...
  15. I could be wrong but when you get that error it means that that server is already operating at it's max capacity... Have you tried selecting a different download mirror from a different country for that file ?.
  16. Sorry for cross posting on your thread TulsA, but didn't really want to start a new thread. Just noticed that the Salvo mode for bombs/vikhrs on the 25T are also not working as they used too.... the KA-50 vikhrs are firing ok in pairs. Hopefully they're already aware of this and provide a fix in a future update...
  17. Salvo mode appears to be inoperative as well, can you confirm this Viper ???. Regards...
  18. Thanks for the advice jimcarrel, yeah it's the same with my Samsung, you rename a channel to PC and it makes a big difference to the screen quality. However for word processing/reading text etc etc i still find it difficult to adjust to working on a word document that has been spread over the TV's 37 inches. For gaming however its excellent and have no complaints :)....
  19. The FSSB R3 can be used with the Target software and integrates perfectly ok with the throttle quadrant. In order for it to be be recognised you just need to remove the HOTAS interface board from your original joystick base and refit it into your new FSSB sensor base as shown in the video below.
  20. Where do you set up SLI profiles ???.... in Nvidia inspector ???. I'm currently running a single 670 2GB card driving a 37" Samsung LED TV (1920x1080), SLI'ing is something that i might consider in the future if it's worthwhile... My computer is used for a variety of tasks and i've been using the above TV now for over a year and very happy with it. The large TV is not so good for word processing and reading text etc etc, but then again i spend most of my time flight simming and it's well suited for that purpose... Thanks...
  21. Thanks for your reply PeterP, i tried your suggestion for settings and whilst it's a little better im still getting noticeable Vsync stutter. After a lot of testing (messing around) i have eventually settled for capping the FPS at 29 in the config.lua file and using Nvidia Inspector to set 1/2 refresh rate. Flying low over Butami with my Shkval turned on is quite smooth now with the occasional stutter but i can tolerate that. I've now started using your MOD for the "Unchaining the rudder" within BS2, flying the Shark is much easier now :)... Regards Gunner...
  22. Hello Today i installed a new EVGA GTX 670 (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-195-EA) into my computer replacing my old EVGA GTX 580. With my old 580 i used Nvidia inspector to set the vertical sync to 1/2 refresh which kept the FPS at a stable 30 in nearly all situations. The problem that im having with the 670 is that when i select the 1/2 refresh rate option all is well until i turn the shkval on and then i get a lot of what i call Vsync stutter when in the cockpit view. The FPS remains at 30 and the GPU usage is only about 60% (temps 52DegC) so the card is not really being pushed hard but for me the sim becomes unplayable. If i don't use Nvidia Inspector and use the in game Vsync setting then i get very smooth frames at a constant 60 FPS, until for whatever reason the FPS drops below 60 then i'm getting the Vsync stutter again. I've tried Rise of Flight and BMS and getting good results with those titles, i'm getting good results with DCS too, but i just can't eliminate the Vsync stutter like i could with the 580 by using the 1/2 refresh rate. I've tried many combinations of settings and a couple of different driver versions (currently using 310.9) but nothing is working ... I'm half tempted to re-install my 580 and RMA the 670 even though there's nothing wrong with the card. So any advice on what settings your using for your 670/680 or suggestions on things to try would be much appreciated as i'm running out of ideas !!... Regards Gunner....
  23. Possibly thinking about buying a 680 to replace my 580, the benchmarks that i have seen suggest that it might be a worthwhile upgrade ????. However i'm intrigued by the fact that some of you guys have said that SLI is working for Nvidia in DCS. Would it be possible to SLI my 580 with a new 680 ?, never tried SLI before so i don't have any experience of it. My 580 is a good card and works well so in some ways i'm a little reluctant to retire it just yet...
  24. Yeah no way of getting out of it..... £13.50 clearance fee + £15.48 import tax..... talk about money for nothing  !!!!...
