  1. jaylw. Thanks again! Just what I wanted. Passed IC [x] Caldera
  2. melchionda, That very thing has been happening to me also. It is not off by much, but the ground reference point has moved. Like you, I figured that I was doing something wrong to cause it. And it has happened enough to be really noticeable. The same thing occurs for laser guided rockets. It seems I have kept repeating the same mistake over and over. Typically I use point mode and try to set the SPI near the ground of the vehicle. Just to say, it does not happen if I am changing targets in single attack run. But for example, if I orbit to find a target then maneuver to attack. The TGP can move off of the target vehicle for some reason. Sometimes if I set the SPI on a target and then manually pan the TGP to look at something else, things go wrong. By that I mean if I then try to re-slave the TGP (all sensors) to SPI it gets lost and I have to manually reset it back on target. I have no movie. The TGP may or may not be SOI when I see it occur. The TGP diamond in the HUD may or may not be near the cage position. I have never used the TGP laser to get a more accurate distance. twistking, How do you change the TGP to inertial track mode? 3. Pretty cool even in black and white. I am pretty sure the DCS Litening POD is a work in progress. Movies at the bottom. Caldera
  4. Thanks Guys, The best community! FWIW [ ] The TGP is one amazing piece of gear... Caldera
  5. Hive, I am still having issue with it. If what you say is true then the TGP gimbal would have that same problem at all the times. Not just when manual panning was used. For example, when you roll your aircraft the TGP pans smoothly and quickly. Unless the gimbal reaches mechanical limits. Maybe more of a pan then focus issue, I do not know. It is jittery.... Caldera
  6. LeCuvier, Thanks! This "slew" value I am talking about is a double bracket value on the second page of the STAT menu screens that is set using the scratch pad. It is not a HOTAS command. To find it on the right MFCD: STAT --> NEXT --> Scroll down -->THRTL --> SLEW [ ] The default is 4. This is the default value I would like to change in the lua file. Typically I set this value to 7 as it calms down the slew rate. A higher value is a slower slew rate. (Thank you goes out to Gerry Abbot) I found out that the more mild the analog curve is adjusted to, the worse the jittering gets. So yesterday, I converted my mini analog joystick to act as a digital joystick. This, believe or not, helps the stuttering effect but requires me reset the slew value. It is still hard for me to accept that this is a feature... Caldera
  7. Thanks Guys, I am using a VPC throttle. The quality must be about the same, because I am having the same issue. LeCuvier, Before I began using the analog joystick I was using a digital one for slew. The effect I describe was about the same with the aircraft directly above the TGP TDC. It was jittery as all get out. I am trying the analog slew, because I thought it would be more adjustable. I have adjusted mine as you describe and it is worse frankly. If I remove the adjustments and go default the slew is more smooth, still some jitterness, but it is extremely fast. In my opinion, "Slow is Fast". The cursor moves too quickly and I am always readjusting. Also, I grew tired of having to constantly adjusting the slew rate variable on the STAT page for the digital slew. Depending on the zoom of the TAD or TGP it is out of control for the default value of 4. I had been changing it to 7 and works about the same with a analog or digital joystick. That is the primary reason for trying out the analog slew. Annoying... Does anyone know where to adjust the default slew rates in a lua file? Thanks! Caldera Hive. Thanks we were typing at the same time. If it is a feature it sucks. Why would A-10 pilots in combat want that? Is the actual A-10 joystick analog or digital? Caldera
  8. draconus, You must mean this line: disable_write_track = true Which i changed to: disable_write_track = false And... Now it works. Thank You! Caldera
  9. Hey all, I do not know if this is what some others are observing or unique to myself. I have my TDC slew mapped to the analog mini joystick on my throttle. When I use it with the TGP as SOI it really does not slew very smoothly and is often very jittery. I have even had it begin to slew, then if I release the joystick it will pop back. The effect is much worse with the aircraft directly over where the TGP is looking. It seems to slew pretty smoothly for the HUD and the TAD. Does this sound familiar for anyone else? Caldera
  10. Please have them take a look at the multiplayer section. Caldera
  11. Hey all, Frustrated... I had thought that I should be able to watch my mission track after exiting flight to the debriefing screen. Clicking on Watch Track is just that, nothing happens though. Clicking once or 25 times has the same result. Nothing... Clicking on Save Track is also not working because I get an error message. The error message is: Cannot open file for reading C:\Users\%name%\AppData\Local\Temp\DCS\LastMissionTrack.trk Is there a setting some where that has to be turned on? I am not aware that I ever turned it off at least intentionally. I have not watched a track in some time, as I have been using TacView lately Today I am trying to learn AAR so it would be nice to watch the track to get a better idea on my formation spacing. Am I hosed or am I just missing something? Caldera
  12. dporter. I have had the manual kick my backside a few times. For this game, I have noticed that the manual gets updated later... I saw this information in a video by Wags. Another note in that video by the way, you can also remove/replace the control stick by clicking on the base and some HMD updates. Caldera
  13. Hello. Maybe some of you missed it, but my A-10 is stuck in the wing of the tanker? From my perspective I just tapped one of the tankers port engines then wildly careened to this position almost instantly. Then "Happy as a Meadow Lark" just stuck there. I went and got some more coffee. When I came back it was still stuck as you see it for a photo op. My technique is getting better. The new joystick I have helps allot. The biggest problem that I have is speed control. Example, what I struggle with allot is if I am going a just bit to fast I back off the throttle. The funny thing is that my air speed continues to increase. Then I pull back some more and I am still going to fast. ETC... Same thing happens if I am going a bit too slow. scoobie, I have set the tanker for 220 15000. I am guessing that it flies at 220 GS because I am using IAS which is about 183. I have not gotten the hang of that just yet. Plus or minus about 1 MPH is what I am talking about. That is the speed control zone the troubles me. Knock-Knock, Thank you for the chart. glide, Congrats! Caldera
  14. Now this is flying! Something is wrong with my technique, frustration maybe? Caldera
  15. Hey all, Pretty easy to re-cage. The top right button on TGP MFCD does this (I believe you can also set the default FOV for the TGP with this button). You can map this function to any HOTAS button that you want. In my case, I have it mapped to two locations. I have it mapped to my Cougar. I also have it mapped to my DMS stick on the push button. It is pretty convenient. Caldera
  16. Thanks imacken! For myself, I just received my Virpil HOTAS. It is a big switch from the Logitech x56 and has taken me some time to reconfigure it to my liking. Thinking I am about there. Using the VPC software I was quite surprised to find out that I could make a logical button press from a axis control and still bind that axis independently. I have not been exposed to that before, usually just got one or the other. My mind was already wondering over using that feature for after burner or war emergency power, because I can set it to any value I want. But alas, I only fly the A-10C very much at all. So far, the only thing I am using in that way is the flaps lever on the CM3 for landing gear raise and lower. It just looks and feels right. You can also map the 5 position mode switch to buttons. I thought about using that as a modifier, but seemed like kind of a waste. I am using it as the A-10C CMSP mode selector switch. So far, love it! Caldera
  17. Poppa, I purchased a powered hub, it still happened to me. I am putting the X56 in the ready room. I now have a Virpil on the taxi way and in use. Caldera
  18. Hey, OK, I do get it. I just said it would be nice. As an attack aircraft (air frame) the the A-10 is certainly capable of doing this role, if not actually better than others. On several PVE multiplayer servers that I have tried you are right. Players attacking SAMs is for the most part hit or miss, often miss. There are too many and too effective. They are a formidable defense for sure. From what I can tell most planes with F on them mostly get wasted by the AI CAP with often seems excessive. These are the low population servers, I mostly just get disco'd from the high population servers so I have kind of stopped doing that. As an A-10 pilot I can fly in circles doing nothing or challenge the SAMs for some action during the time that I have. Simple as that... And, just as likely get wasted by the AI CAP. Sorry off topic. Caldera
  19. Eugel, A mistake that I was making. After firing a Maverick, you need to change FOV to narrow for each missile. The default comes up as wide FOV. I just about always use the TGP and start firing at maximum range and the hit rate is very high. Be nice to have ARM or HARM capability for the A-10C. Most SAMs have a longer range. Caldera
  20. Skip, On Caucasus Map I see this effect also. It does happen. What do you have Visib Range set at? Mine is set at High. This is a recommended setting. Caldera
  21. Hey, Where would I find the Release Notes? Caldera
  22. Hello, Where would I find them? Caldera
  23. Hey, I know these are not carrier landing lights... Night time refueling? How do you get the tanker to turn them on? Sorry for the bad picture. The port one has U (forward) and D (aft) The starboard one has A (forward) and F (aft). Caldera
  24. Hello, I have attached three files. I have a problem allot with the TGP and I typically delete the all contents of the FXO file folder and it helps for awhile. I try to do this often, like especially before every multiplayer session where I might have a larger time investment. It seems to always come back, like tonight. In BHot mode the entire TGP screen will go black. In WHot mode the TGP entire screen will go white. In the CCD mode it will mostly fade out and become blurry. I had thought that only zoom effected when I got these effects and it still does. But tonight I noticed that distance to the target also effects it. For example tonight, on two different laser rocket attack runs I fired at just under five miles. Some time after that, as I was flying to maintain the laser on target, the TGP would just go black. During the rocket TOF I believe that I had not adjusted the zoom of the TGP. The laser would continue to lase and amazingly I would still hit the target. All the while, the TGP was totally black. Before I started these rocket attacks the I was having this problem. This happened two times with the rocket attacks then I RTB'd. I can also send the TackView file if you need it. Caldera dcs.log dcs.log.old autoexec.cfg
  25. I don't fly the F-18 as of yet. However, I do not see why it would not work as it does in the A-10C. I would guess that you should map it to the slew axis and try it out. Caldera
