Well, I'm not doing anything serious with the A29B, so I downloaded the dev version... At the very least I can help testing... I really like how this mod is going! BTW, Luiz & Team, do you prefer bug reports here or at github ? The airbrake open and close mappings are not working in dev ...

Just started looking at it. Doesn't seem to be native functionality of the CTLD script but it is implemented via triggers and actions with, perhaps, custom sounds. It is an excellent idea that fits nicely with one of my plans about consolidating the JTACs on Range 3... Also thinking of getting rid of the Rockets and Strafing range and Range 3 as well for that. It probably will be one or two weeks for the next update for this mission. Tempted to wait till 2.7 is out just in case it breaks something. Also, I'm working on a historical combat mission that I would like to release these weekend or early next week.

Thanks! I just skimmed thru the video and that is a cool functionality to add to the mission. I'll play with it and try to include it for v1.05. I just uploaded v1.04, in which I started to consolidated the JTAC ranges and added a intervals bombing range.

Looking Good! Don't forget (please!) to add an AFAC tasking to it.
-
I forgot about updating this thread ... Nope, it did not work and I sent it back to Amazon. I most likely will build my own. Thanks for the recomendations!

I'm sure you are not holding the pickle long enough Your spacing is set for 6500ft not 650ft. Note the "X10" above the controls. 2) Piper on target A. And thank you! You just gave me an idea for another range for my practice area

And that did the trick! Thank you!

I just did a quick mission in Syria, one A29B as AFAC (using the CTLD script) and another to attack insurgents... Doesn't looks like infantry fires onto aircraft, does it? This airplane has a lot of fun potential! EDIT: nevermind, they do fire at airplanes. I just tested: put 100 AK soldiers in a 10x10 formations and did several passes... You have to be slow and low for them to fire at you. They manage several hits on my Tucano but after about 20 passes I was still fully functional... Got bored and sent some Browning lead pills their way... Suddenly they lost interest on shooting at me!

Just uploaded an update. Added DS Native JTACS and a target airbase to practice opening holes in runways and taxiways . I'm still learning my ways in the mission editor so, any feedback and/or suggestions are welcome.

I gave up and opted in for the Beta a couple of days ago... No more disconnects and it seems to be performing a bit better in general as of now. YMMV of course...

Some videos here Definitely promising! I put a couple of hours o. it today.

No worries... TMI around very easy to miss or forget something. I just remembered that picture because I used it to setup my HOTAS.

From Chuck's Guide: The Harrier stick is similar to the the F18. Besides some cosmetics, the mayor difference is the position of the SSS and Trim Hat. I use a TM F18 Grip, I had the buttons mapped like the picture. Additionally, I use the A2A Select Switch Left and Right to activate the "autopilot (right = attitude hold, left = altitude hold) I'm a VR simpilot and use the wheel on top of the TM F18 Grip to control the NVGs ... My zoom controls are in my throttle.

Thank you! I will try that.

Hey folks... I've tried the Ottoman Courier Mission 2 a few times and I'm sure I'm missing something but cannot figure it out. I take off, Nightmare 2 rejoins, we do the low altitude pass , get to wp11 and start climbing to angels 15. Get on the horn with Plot and I'm told good pass and asked to contact Range. Switch the the right Range frequency (verified) and then nothing happens... I flight to wp12, 13 and 14 and not a word from the range or anybody....Nightmare 2 is with me... So, what am I doing wrong or missing?

I hope that the quality of the MFDs improves for 2.7 ... I love the Harrier, but this is one of the "turn off" issues for it.

Fellow virtual Harrier pilots, I have learned so much from this community that decided to give a small token back: my practice area in the Caucasus Nothing too fancy or refined. My idea was to have a single place where to practice basic flying skills and ordinance delivery for every single weapon currently in out arsenal and with short duration sorties. You can find it here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3315396/ You will need the fantastic vFG 476 Range Targets Package, found here: https://www.476vfightergroup.com/showthread.php?5304-476th-Range-Targets-Package This mission uses the Range and Autolase JTAC scripts. So, you will get feedback on your bombing accuracy (for some of the targets at least) and you can practice using Laser Spot Search and targeting. Hope it helps and that you enjoy it! Of course, constructive feedback is always welcome! Edit: New version (requires DCS 2.7) here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3316143/

Thanks all for the replies! I ordered one of these from Amazon (very easy to return if it doesn't work and free 1 day shipping): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GR78PCK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Even if it doesn't work for my intended purpose, I might keep it if it works well to control the volume of the PC. Should be here tomorrow. I'll update the thread with the results...
-
Thanks! Haven't considered building it myself (not my area of expertise) but I might... Interesting you mention the audio/video control devices... I've been looking at some at Amazon but what stops me from ordering one is that I don't know if DCS would recognize them or not... I might just buy one , test it and return it if it doesn't work.

I'm looking for a small footprint USB slider (I guess a knob or lever would work too) to map one axis. Does anybody has any recommendation? The intended use is to map the Nozzle Stop axis for the AV8B.

Today, I added a few mk.20 ranges to my practice area to test something I read about them and DCS... The plan was to fly a A2A radar practice sortie with the Hornet (carrier launched), return to an airbase and switch slot to a Harrier in a road based FARP that I also added today to my practice area... Well, Hornet sortie went not so good (radar/tpod/user issue) so I jumped into the Harrier, reamed it with mk 20 and started admiring the FARP... Did a STO, configured the bombs, set course to the target and designated it the DMT. First pass was a 5000' AGL drop in auto... Pickle and nothing felt off the plane...WTH moment... HUD was right, showing what it should. Checked Master Arms and fuze, all good... Weird, checked my control mappings and all good... Well, who knows, lets do another pass and nothing dropped... Long story short, I tried like 4 or 5 passes at different altitudes, leveled, diving, auto and CCIP... Got bingo and decided to jettison the ordinance and get back to the carrier and as soon as did it, I realized that it was a missed opportunity to practice a ship rolling VL... Oh well, next time... Got into the pattern and after the break, my hand went to the nozzle control to set it to downwind leg... Just to find out that my nozzles were already at 50 degrees ... OOOOPPPPPSSSSS

I have (not installed at the moment) a push through AB detent . With 0 curvature, I reach the detent at about 80% RPMs. I did try an user defined curve to get to 100% RPM at the detent but I did not like the feel of the throttle after that, It didn't have enough definition for VL and the force required to pass the detent made the Harrier jump...

Received and installed mine. Ordered it in early January. Installation was easy (no springs to worry about! but that is a different hobby). This is how the warthog should come from the factory! Thank you!!! Now, off to retrain my left middle finger....
-
Yeah, I saw it... No details unfortunately Couple of videos: I don't see any yaw, So I'm guessing roll right with some left rudder perhaps... My landing don't look like those
-
Yes quoting myself to eat my words ... Maybe @netizensmith , @JorgV Looks like we need to bank instead of using rudder ... Found this mission , here, in user files. I looked in the Natops Manual and in "00-80T-111 - VSTOL Shipboard and LSO Manual" and in the VMAT-203 Syllabus and couldn't find a reference on how to do it... Most likely is uder a different subject ... I'll keep looking.
