1) Any hint yet that there will be placeable FARPs? I wouldn't want to have to fly only from airbases. 2) In the long BlackShark video, the Black Shark is chasing a convoy of trucks. The lead vehicle, a flatbed with guns, is that in the current LOMAC 1.12a?

Total newbie here...any good tutorials?
ZoomBoy27 replied to Skwurl's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
:wassat: Just to clarify: They are for Flaming Cliffs(FC1.1) including the RWin keys. I haven't seen any difference between FC1.1 and 1.12a in terms of inputs. And the Guides are for reading and printing out; not for playing like Ironhand's excellent stuff. -

what method to align on a convoy? "Help"
ZoomBoy27 replied to vassel's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
ingress route is the path you take into the bombing run. If you plan carefully then you would not need any sudden turns. Egress is the path you take after the bombs hit the target. I tend to use 100% power with full flaps down(~400kmh) and then flaps up as soon as I've finished bombing. It is also a matter of knowing the right type of weapons to use ("Cluster bombs or multiple munition dispecers with a timed delay on drop") and the skill in switching to the right weapon at the right time. For example, for a convoy with AAA, I'd use Vikhr missiles to take out the AAA vehicle from the longest range and maybe another vehicle, and then switch to bombs for the last part of the run. There's quite a work-load that makes the SU-25T's workload interesting to fly. Know what your weapons can do including setting the Dropping Interval that gives you varying bombing spread(V sets Interval). Also get used to switching to Cannon as well You're not using the standard Target/Laser Designation System? I prefer to remap the TDC movement keys(SEMI-COLON, PERIOD, COMMA, SLASH(/)) to the 4 cursor arrows See my Su-25T guide in my sig. -
what method to align on a convoy? "Help"
ZoomBoy27 replied to vassel's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
1st thing - if the convoy has no air defence, pull up and try again - do not force it. 2) Fly with full flaps(Shift-F) on ingress - this should get you extra time over the convoy to align correctly 3) recognize that you need to line up earlier - review the map or spend more time spotting or on the Shkval watching from a distance before choosing an ingress route. 4) if you've made your 1st run - a) Note the Heading and try to get on its inverse b) DO NOT quickly turn back but extend your egress for an extra period of time(extract flaps) and then turn back for your 2nd run -

An interface idea for after? Black Shark
ZoomBoy27 replied to ZoomBoy27's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
As a long-time user of the Mission Editor, I can see the desire to upgrade both AI and the ME. But as Ed is taking the time, on the next project, to do various AFMs, designing and attaching a verbose system is a reasonable use of time as the keypresses have to be analyzed and sent to the AFM anyway. And as it's likely those key-press messages would be used in debugging(showing the current AFM responses), it would be a debugging bonus to have a verbose response in fine-tuning the AFM's and could be easily adapted for gamers. -
Now that ED is working on completing LO:BS and probably gearing up for the next generation, I'd like to return to an learning aid I've posted before. But it's VERY Optional, of course, for the experienced sim flyer. Repeat, Optional and can be switched off When learning to fly a sim, or re-learning, I'd want to get a response to every key I hit so that I know exactly what I've done. Why not? It's modern. In Real Life you do get responses. Maybe not in Big Bold Letters, but in a sim - Why not? Hitting a '6', I should get a message= Air to Ground Mode: Mk82 Hitting a 'D', I should get a message= A2G: Cycle to Mk84 IL2/Pacific Fighters has this with the messages that scroll and then disappear on the Right-hand side. This allows me to jump into any plane, even complex bombers, and play around in the sky while learning. I agree that the deepness of the modern jet doesn't make it an exact comparison but WOW I think it'd make a great difference to learning. It'd be a great help to newbs(bless their little hearts) and those who are returning and trying to get up-to-speed. Since ED is building some systems from scratch with the next project, I felt it was the correct time to re-post this idea. It even might be an aid in debugging, once it's debugged :) I call this a Verbose Response system. See my full Verbose Response Editorial.

you'll have to set the Attack waypoint at least 10 km from the actual target for them to be able to set up for the attack. -

Mission Update - A-10 - Struggle in Crimea
ZoomBoy27 replied to ZoomBoy27's topic in User Created Missions General
V2.01 Struggle in Crimea Mission 21 - Seige Of Bahchisaraj Attached is a re-jigged "Mission 21 Seige" of the A-10 MissionPack. The City items were spread around the city and hidden on the map rather than just being lined up in a HUGE row. It's more realistic but not easier. I've also attached a mission that has no Large SAMS in the Local Area - allows you to get directly to the City. A-10 CitySeigeMissions.zip -

Mission Update - A-10 - Struggle in Crimea
ZoomBoy27 posted a topic in User Created Missions General
With the patch to 1.11 some of my missions came across as broken but I've tracked down a date bug that froze LOMAC on loading. I've updated the missions, by changing the dates, and are here for your A-10 pleasure. See attached Missions 21 and 22. A-10Missions21_22.zip -
I first noticed the problem when a user complained about a loading error in Mission 21 Seige of Bachsaraj The LOADING BAR would stall one-third of the way across and you'd have to shut it down. And the same problem was in Mission 22 But there was no problem in Mission 23 and 24 The mission was built in 1.02 and flown in 1.10 but there'd been no problems; In 1.11 is when I first noticed this Loading Error. I thought it would just be the usual mission compatability problem so I loaded the Mission, adjusted some parameters, and saved it as version 1.11. Same Loading problem. I thought it was having problems loading a model. So I deleted ALL the units and groups and I still got the Loading Stall error. I then started building the Mission totally from scratch and an early version loaded correctly. So I was happy and completed the very large(60 units) "Seige of Bahchisaraj" and got the Loading Error again. OK, I was going to be methodical and started building Mission 22 (Coastal Drive) saving each time I changed the mission. I got to Mission 014 and it functioned correctly and then I changed the mission to day 040/8:00 in Mission Test015 and then I got the Loading Error So I started to play with the starting time. Started it at 040/ 8:00 - Frozen Changed it to 001/ 8:00 - Loaded correctly Changed it to 001/12:00 - Loaded correctly Changed it to 008/ 8:00 - Frozen Changed it to 009/12:00 - Frozen Changed it to 015/ 8:00 - Loaded correctly Changed it to 016/ 8:00 - Loaded correctly Changed it to 026/ 8:00 - Loaded correctly Changed it to 024/ 8:00 - Loaded correctly Changed it to 024/12:00 - Loaded correctly Changed it to 036/ 8:00 - Loaded correctly Changed it to 040/ 8:00 - Frozen Changed it to 039/ 8:00 - Frozen Changed it to 038/ 8:00 - Frozen Changed it to 037/ 8:00 - Loaded correctly There you have it. Please test and correct if possible. See the attached missions Test014, Test015, Test015_changedtime The briefing says the Password is gilliguck but there is no password as I've created the mission from scratch and merely cut/paste the original Mission text. EDIT: My mission testing was done in Windowed mode NOT Full screen TestMissions.zip

Remember to click OK when done changing the time/date. -
Do a Windows Explorer search under the Ubisoft Folder for lua*.dll. There might be a spare copy in C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\scripts\luasocket
