About Bazar->Terrain->Structures->High.
ZoomBoy27 replied to KILSEK's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
The idea then is to find the building/structure with the lowest polygon count and substitute it that for any very complex building. It is likely that after its destruction a simple burning structure would replace it. -
Report it in the Bugs forum with a link to this thread. I suspect a befuddled axes somewhere. Is it just the comms and the rest of the sim flies correctly?

The closest thing you could get to a Active front-line is to add it in the editor. For me, I just put a row of SAMs/Shilkas/manpads that overlap an area that I consider a "front-line" I then add a reserve group(4 or 5 AFVs) behind the line of SAMs/Shilkas/manpads. It gives you a FLOT feel. And then I start to build the mission In one of my Campaign packs, I did that for some missions on the Kerch Peninsular.

Question about TV guided bombs
ZoomBoy27 replied to berkoutskaia's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
In FC, I've followed one of these to the ground. First a parachute deploys, you drift down for a bit, and then the missile engine ignites. cool -
The main documents are located in C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Doc. If you have Flaming Cliffs, look especially for LO FC Quick Start Manual 1.1 (page 48) There's also this mission editor web-page Mission Editor And Merging is also useful. In order to change a single player mission to a multi-player mission, you can change a flight of, for example, 4 planes to 4 multi-player clients with the Merge function. 1) Select and Load the Single player mission you want to convert 2) Save it AS a new mission - new_mission_mp for example 3) Select the Flight that needs converting so that it's HighLighted. 4) On the Edit Menu, select the Merge option 5) Up will pop a list of missions 6) Double-Click on the new_mission_mp 7) What happens now is that a new flight is added as Merged_1 8) SAVE the mission by hitting the Save button at the Top 9) repeat the same steps starting with Step 4 10) When you have done it 2 more times, you will have 4 flights 11) In order to finish the multiplayer, you are going to have to edit the 4 flights ___ a) change the original flight to 1 player and to Client ___ b) the other Merged flights are going to need to have the first and last waypoints changed to Takeoff and Land ___ c) The Attack waypoints and the targets in the other Merged flights are going to be needed to be added back. The Weapon loadouts should be the same

You might want to try the A-10A Realistic Weapons Mod. It seems to fit the bill. Buddy-lasing is not currently programmed into LOMAC. It might be a slim possibility with 1.2 and probably with the Lockon Successor

Can someone help me with Multiplayer?

For converting Single to Multi-player, try the Merge option In order to change a single player mission to a multi-player mission, you can change a flight of, for example, 4 planes to 4 multi-player clients with the Merge function which acts as a Copy/Paste function. Problems with Multi Missions
ZoomBoy27 replied to 214th_Silverfox's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Are you sure that you are listing the mission flyer as "CLient" because that's the type of error you'd get if you leave it at "Player" -
Printable Training Mission scripts

Nice work and nice thinking. I added 1 to your Reputation -
It's fun to fly around in especially the Su-25T. Try my learning Guides in my sig. Very useful.
-
Try the Su-25T with the Advanced Flight Model. A whole new level of flying.

declassifying Swing-Kid's Skywars campaign

Agree 100% - we just need more options. -
I have an idea for a sim but...
ZoomBoy27 replied to 112th_Rossi's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I would suggest http://www.gamedev.net/ - GameDev.net. Their forums are full of professionals who can give you legal, design, and engine advices. They even have a help wanted forum. -
I usually put a SAU Nona in the mission and then target the bridge

The ideal would to have a flat structure(of only 2 polygons) that could substitute for a full building. -
How to start: LOMAC or Falcon 4.0:AF?
ZoomBoy27 replied to mart's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
From what I've played of Falcon4.0 and LOMAC, LOMAC is good to start learning with. The training missions are much superior with in-game text - especially in the add-on pack with voice-over. And I would suggest the A-10 because of its smoother easier responses without having to worry about the radar. But you can still have lots of stuff happen. In your case I really suggest my Up-to-Speed Guide to the A10 Then you can step up to radar management for F15 and the Russian Su-27 and The learning curve on Falcon is steep because that model is much deeper. I'd suggest that you'd start with Air 2 Air only and get a lot of fun out of that by flying only those missions first - preferably on an easier campaign. What I usually do is staple some blank pages together and go through 2 or 3 training missions descriptions in the Manual and record the Highlighted keys. I then fly the training missions. Don't hesitate to ask -
Major Problem with A-10 Helo-hunt Missions
ZoomBoy27 replied to D-Scythe's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Who ever said you couldn't change my opinion? Or I've ever claimed perfection? But I do have to bring up the context in which the Vikhr missiles shots are made. In narrow circumstances it can be effective especially against A-10s and Su-25Ts 1stly the targeted A-10s and Su-25Ts are never going 800 kmh and it is incorrect to weigh effectiveness on relative speeds that are completely out of range for normal operations. 2ndly the Twisting and turning that A-10s and Su-25Ts is practically non-existant. At one point or another coming out of the 5G turn has to happen for these planes and at a low speed. And a helicopter can rotate at a rate that makes any A-10 and Su-25T at the exit point a fat and juicy target - travelling flat and straight and level for the most part as you stated. Anything other than a 3 or 9 o'clock exit point and the A-10s and Su-25Ts are good targets. 3rdly A-10s and Su-25Ts are not fast movers and are more like helicopters than Su-27s especially against a high-speed Vikhr. Don't over-estimate the speed value of a plane merely because it has wings. The targeted A-10s and Su-25Ts are built tough because speed is not their defence. I assume that the reason there are missiles with Radar and IR seekers is due to the BVR capabilitites of the radar and the ability to discern high differential of signal for the IR seekers. In the narrow circumstances of a very close range strike(which we are talking about), the visual is now useful - see the Helmet mounted sight the Russians have and the Americans will have. And at a very close range, range limitations are unimportant. So I ask. I ask the questions because I want them answered not for only "perfect" conditions but for all conditions. A developer will try to answer my questions and we'll have a better sim. -
Major Problem with A-10 Helo-hunt Missions
ZoomBoy27 replied to D-Scythe's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
What specific aspects are superior? Why would a visually tracked missile be inferior to a A2A missile from can be spoofed with chaff and flares? I don't see the Vikhr as any different than a guided TOW missile. The launching platform is stationary from a helo which is superior for very short shots(which are what we are talking about) than any plane that's not at the correct angle of attack at less than 1 km. The no loss of energy in the FM does sound like a serious question - place it into the Bugs forum so that they can investigate it. -
Never heard of this A-10 type crash before in the full 1.1. What sort of controller do you have? And your driver version?
-
Russia is the biggest market - so you'd probably have to ask a Russian user about their impressions.
-
Try the Payment problems forum - you should be able to get the ED support e-mail address - I hear that they're helpful - even to tards like us

Missions go in C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Missions Campaigns go in C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Missions\Campaigns I've made some missions(in my sig) Also check out LOMAC files.com - the downloads section has mission packs And Combat Aces downloads will have more than a few.

Any news on producing 1.2?
ZoomBoy27 replied to 169th_Moose's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
The inaccurate semi-true scuttle-butt is that the Ka-50 has had it's art done and the flight model is roughed out at least. But for the Environment, they are going to have to upgrade a lot of the ground stuff - including some infantry(1 bit seen in the Real weapons Mod(Grenader)). Xmas is a good date for its release but so is any other time between now and the beginning of next year. Some sort of French plane(Mirage) is being evaluated for possible addition but only as an AI non-flyable. There's been no official discussion of a dedicated server or any fancy schmancy extra bit. In the short term, there is a 95% probability ED is working on a large patch to cover a lot of issues - but no one will confirm, deny, or deign to answer. The 1st noise had it coming out in June, but now it should be the classic "when it's done". It should be like the 1.02 was: a patch to get as much covered as possible. Check the Bugs forum to see the issues that have been brouht up and are likely to be evaluated for inclusion. None of the above is essentially wrong or essentially true. My feeling is they might add extra system/bits to 1.20 but they'd have to be tested 1st before a peep comes out of anyone. -
It sounds like it might be a graphics problem rather than a systems problem. I have the exact same card as you and only once have I had that problem. I'd turn off the Advanced Haze and I would lower the Sound Hardware Acceleration. Try the A-10 as well to see if you get the same problem. Try to see if there any difference between Instant Missions and regular Missions. Check out KonKussion's page for tweaking discussion.

There is a new program created by Pat01, called Group Utilities that uses a template mission to add a set of units to a mission. Then add the Missions together with the Create Campaigns from Files Utility. I think you have to number the misions 1.mis, 2.mis, etc. Read the Readme. If you've got the campaign almost completed, you can use the Extract Missions from Campaigns Utility, use the Group utilities and then put the campaign back together. That should be good enough to start.
