Benchmark here (DCS World 1.2.4 A-10C module reqired)
Spadje replied to xracer's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
The average is in () and should be next to the FPS counter. -
Nice monitor still about 500 bucks more than my budget on a monitor lol :)
-
I agree with you KaspeR32 but for me, by the time 4k resolution monitors are in my price range I will need a new video card anyways lol.

I run the sim at stock with everything maxxed and it barely scratches 1GB. I guess if you plan on modding the crap out of the sim then go for it, but tests have shown not many games touch 2GB unless you are running 4k resolutions. Even Farcry 3 running at max details doesnt need 4GB and actually performs better on 2GB. This sim that we play is CPU bound more than anything and I doubt it would need it. As you see in the link the 4GB card does not shine until running resolutions above 2560x1600. Source http://www.legitreviews.com/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-760-4gb-video-card-review-2gb-4gb_129062/3 EDIT: Just did some testing and found that it does use 1.4GB of memory yet with everything maxxed out I never stuttered or had any issues. Ran perfect https://www.dropbox.com/s/yswqxu0hhlizdoy/Screen_140415_120536.jpg

I have the Asus 770 2GB card, if you are not playing in 4k resolution there is no advantage of getting the 4GB card. Save the money and go with the 2GB card. It does great at 1920x1080

nVidia 337.50 (Mantle Killer) Driver released
Spadje replied to SkateZilla's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Since it releases some cpu cycles it also helps people like me running older cpu's. The tests are showing increases in DX9 and DX10 applications with older cpu's. To me DCS runs much smoother and has better image quality. -

Running the benchmark.miz found here http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=108231 ( I had to pull the plane up so that the others could not take off) I am averaging 52FPS where as with my old 6950 2GB I was getting 8 FPS single card and 10FPS crossfire with 14.1 drivers.... amazing -

Yeah mainly 700 and up, some people are reporting loss in 600 series but have not heard anything about the 500... I flew around a bit and it never dipped below 60FPS and it did seem to look better. Also my settings are below Textures - High Scenes - High Civ Traffic - Off Water - High Visib Range - High Heat Blur - Off (thought I had it on..) Shadows - High Res - 1920x1080 Res. Cockpit displays - 512 MSAA - 8x HDR - Normal Clutter - 510m Trees - 6000m Preload - 150000m Tree shadows - On Vsync - On Full screen - On Cockpit Shadows - On TSSAA - On -

Would you sell the 2x 7 inch monitors by themselves?

Upgraded GPU to GTX 770 from ATi 6950
Spadje replied to Spadje's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yeah it has doubled most of the FPS in other games and made DCS run smoother, so happy :) -
I cannot believe the difference. I am now able to turn everything up and run at 1920x1080 without it dropping hardly ever. Where as with the 6950 if I got into a heavy fight it would lag out and get down in the teens on FPS. This is an awesome card :)
-
Woot I now have some money to buy DCS Next when I am 50...if I am lucky.
-
Awesome thank you

I did the shift + clicking on the Multiplayer icon and it came up for Combined arms. I was able to deactivate that one but now when I hit shift and click the MP icon it just brings up the game...what am I missing? I am needing to deactivate, moving to a new SSD :)

AMD Catalyst 13.30 beta (14.1?) available
Spadje replied to Mustang's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Just tried placing the atiumd64.dll into my bin folder and I am getting 10FPS less than the 13.12's I am running. This is kind of odd. I have tested this on 2 different systems and they both perform worse with the atiumd64 file in the bin folder. I am running Windows 8.1 16GB DDR3 i7 920@ 3.6GHz ATi 6950 2GB FLeX 128GB SSD Crucial M4 No idea why mine runs better with the 13.12's though. -
I thought the D series cards were for rendering and not necessarily playing games. I remember a friend getting a Radeon FirePro or XL and he couldnt run Unreal as well as the guys running ATi 9700's.

I am currently using it with a Nexus 10 and I love it. I have had my Nexus for a few months now and it is amazing. The resolution is absolutely beautiful and its just an overall awesome tablet.

I just wonder how close ???? :D:D:D

Awesome news, will test out later today :) EDIT: Have done some testing and it is working as it should (once I updated my keyboard commands) Love the product great work so far.

Awesome just gave it a shot, and noticed a problem. When I put 2 different ports in and hit ok and go back into network settings both ports are the same, am I missing something? P.S. Thanks for the update :)

If you use the program I have in my link you wont have to worry about messing with lua files or editing them. You just run the program select what you want to export, drag it to the monitor and location of where you want it to be and then save it. Just read the directions on the page or that come with the program, very simple :) Makes it a ton easier. Even gives you the coordinates without having to dig for them.
