WWII Japanese Pacific Theater Naval Order of Battle
seabat replied to Hawkeye60's topic in DCS Modding
Hawkeye, Great Mod as always. You might want to look at the IJN Merchant Ship file though. One of the boats looks like it is on the way to Monster Island to pick up King Kong! seabat -

AI F6F Hellcat, F4u Corsair, SB2C Helldiver all take off from Yorktown and Intrepid. 30 seconds for first plane to launch, 15 second spacing for next 2. Seems I forgot to load the Hornet. seabat

Lets not forget the Marines. seabat

Great Mod Hawkeye! seabat Hawkeye, I tried to load the B26 files but they caused a CTD for me. Tried with OVGME and as separate files. All CTD for me. Other warbirds all work except for dive bomber bi-planes and B26. Any suggestions regarding the B26? seabat

VSN F/A-18D Hornet with F/A-18C Cockpit
seabat replied to josh-109's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
I used OVGME to install on my computer also. I had issues getting it to load so I opened up the zip and extracted the FA18d folder. I placed that folder in my Ovgme folder enabled and it worked. Please note that my OVGME folder is in my saved games directory and not the DCS open beta directory seabat -
Patrick, Is there a way to drop the tail hook as a player? I could not find a command in the control set up and I did not find any other information. I know the AI can land on carriers but I only bolter. I am guessing that with the use of the P51 cockpit there will not be a tail hook command but wanted to ask. I am still having fun with the mod so again I thank you and your crew for making it! seabat

Hawkeye, For your Franklin mod, could you take a look at your runway heights? I noticed that for take offs AI aircraft start higher than the deck. When they start moving they drop back to the deck and continue the take off. I think there is an elevation that may come from another mod. In testing I changed the 20.30 below changed to 16.05 and the planes started at the proper height. -- runways {{-80.00, 20.30, -2.0}, 0.10, 99.0, 25.0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0}, -- 99.0, pictures show what I mean. I used an A4 and an F18 also with the same results. Thanks for the WW2 mods. They are a lot of fun. seabat

VSN F/A-18D Hornet with F/A-18C Cockpit

fun mod. thanks to the creators. seabat -
I am a firm believer of “If the navy provided it they must want me to use it.” On the Marianas map I have successfully use the 1 wire, the 2, 3 and 4 wires to trap. I have also used the ramp, the island, and parked aircraft to stop. I even used an escort ship and the plane guard helicopter but they should not have wandered into my flight path and I deny any and all responsibility for their errors. seabat

There is a CLSID for an MER and 6 ea M117. {6CDB6B36-7165-47D0-889F-6625FB333561} Unfortunately the position of the bombs is not accurate and they overlap. I tried to find a code file for that CLSID but was not successful. I decided to make a new unit payload declaration using a BRU41A and M117’s. It works and the bombs are positioned correctly. I have not got around to repainting the BRU to match the Thud colors. I created a wire map but got side tracked with VSN F/A-18D. I am also searching for a way to get the Thud to drop CBU’s. They sometimes carried 4 ea CBU’s for SAM suppression on the centerline. I can get them mounted to the centerline pylon using a BRU41A and CBU52’s but they will not drop. Wing pylons work fine. Also trying to figure out how to increase the drop delay so they don’t salvo all at once. Thud is still a great mod and thanks to the VSN team for making it available. It is even better flying over the Marianas Map. seabat
