well it sounds like, if you read between the lines from Ninelines post that the delay will be longer than 2 weeks. He states that they will keep us updated on a timely basis and have time to create a series of instructional videos. That sounds to me a bit longer than 2 weeks.

I work in software development to and you would be suprised how accepting customers are towards buggy software but missing deadlines is usually worse. Time to market is usually prioritized higher than having a complete feature set
-
Well it sound like the announcement is bigger than the supercarrier that its about something else something bigger
-
From what I took away is that the update will not only contain information about the supercarrier but other aspects as well.

Is it reasonable for the F-14 to be finished in 2016?
Rayman replied to Jaktaz's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Well I don't think we will see the F-14 in 2016, my estimate would be at the earliest Q4 2017 and this is all speculations but I believe that Viggen will be released Q1 2017 and the F4U in Q2-Q3 2017. Regarding ED releases I think we will only see the Spitfire, 2.5 and Normandy released this year and thats based on the marketing that ED is doing right now and ED has mentioned that the release window for 2.5 is by the end of this year and I don't think ED will release a new map before 2.5 is out, so Normandy will come out after 2.5 is released. Does are the products they are showing and building hype for and based on the information they have given on the Hornet I think that module is far from release. But this is all speculations, most certainly I am wrong on many things and the modules will be released when they are ready but its a bit fun to speculate  -
I am also new to the VR world and would also like to know the optimal settings to get the best performance, I also have a 1080 and i7 6700k, with 16 gb of ram and are also seeing almost the same performance as you. I will post a picture on my settings when I get home. Would be nice if others could to the same.
