  1. Guess we have different opinions on the purpose of a manual . Nevermind, still support your request to have one at tha beginning of EA.
  2. Misunderstanding,... can happen Well, I don't really know when the manual will be ready, but you can search the internet for the Apaches operators manual. It is easy to find and contains probably all information you need (and much more).
  3. He didn't say that early access modules have no manual, just that they are usually not ready at the start of the early access phase. So no reason to be unpolite.
  4. There is a toggle button in the options. Don't remember the exact name. Just search for "uncouple" and you will find it. With that button, you can switch between old and new aiming mode.
  5. Well, if I do it, I have to do it right Still hope they implement my request. Would be enough for me
  6. Try this shader mod: It improves VR performance significantly without too much visual impact.
  7. Can confirm this. Maybe they can fix it like they did with the huey door gunners where the gun sight and vr view were also tied together before. However, in the huey the gun was at least following the vr view and not the other way around like in CA. But I can imagine that it is a little bit more complicated. It makes sense to separate view and gun direction for weapons that are operated directly like a a machine gun on top of the tank or on a humvee. A tanks main gun is a different story. It is operated through a gun sight and if you turn your head, you would just look at the inside of the tank, which isn't modelled. Sure, you can just ignore that detail since CA isn't a real simulation anyways, but then you have a reticle that moves around the scenery and that you might loose track of. I guess the best approach/fix here would be to turn everything black around the gun sight to compensate for the missing interior model.
  8. Think so too. Seems like they already have the necessary interfaces. Hope they got the time to implement it. Using the mouse or flight-stick is somewhat okayish, but using touch controllers would almost feel like being a real door gunner. Only thing that would be even better is a controller like your "hand of god" - However, I don't really have the time to build such a nice piece of awesomeness and also not the space to store it. Apart from that, my girlfriend would probably kill me (using the door gun controller ). Thanks a lot. I really appreciate it
  9. I wonder if it is possible to use VR touch contollers to operate the doorgunner weapons by just grabbing the handle and pulling the trigger. If yes, how can I set it up (is there a mod)? If not, is it planned in an upcoming release, cause this would be absolutely awesome. Otherwise, I have to follow the example of the user hannibal, I guess:
  10. Observing the general situation, my bet is that we get a nice and big release around eastern: new clouds and/or mariana islands and/or DCS 2.7 and/or Hind and/or Kiowa Best would be all together (probably not best for my wallet)
  11. The answer to why is mainly : Budget The question was if one "desperately need" pedals to fly a heli or if it is doable with a twist stick. I started flying the huey with a twist stick. It was fun enough and definately doable, but a lot harder than with pedals and extension. Luckily I have a relatively high hobby budget and baught me some good equipment, but not everybody can afford that. So flying with a twist stick is far from being optimal, but better than flying no helo at all. I can also imagine, that the apache is way easier to fly this way than the huey due to its flight assistance systems. Maybe not as stable as the Ka-50, but easier than the Huey
  12. Not really, you can fly with a twist stick. However, without pedals and a stick extension it gets a lot harder to hold a perfect hover.
  13. Have you taken a look into this thread? There are already some people working on it
  14. In the Ka-50, you can select between AP and HE rounds in flight by flipping a switch. With HE rounds selected, you see small explosions on impact but you can't penetrate armored vehicles. With AP you can. Can't remember if it is the case in the Ka-50, but the ballistics should also be different.
  15. Hello everyone, I started with DCS a few month ago when I baught a valve index and couldn't stop learning/playing since then. I was already reading here for quite a while and finally registered myself today. So hello again :)
