Why and how to use pedals?
Tenebrae Aeternae replied to dlder's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Here´s a bit about fine aiming and maneuvering with rudder in combat. Basic flight you don´t need it much at all in a jet except for landing and take-offs. Pedals are often overlooked, but very very useful to have. Z-Axis in a stick makes you prone for using rudder when you don´t want to, and when you do it eats the precision from the other stick axis. Pedals are pretty awesome to have, even if they don´t seem like the sexiest purchase at first. -
Dear ED, perfect time for a G6

Oh it´s not my preference, just an observation of how things work with DCS. I would like the current birds to have more variants for sure, and as a ww2 standard i´d like to see an early, mid and late war variants + some theater specific variants, whichever of those are appropriate and significant. It´s really damn hard, if not impossible to era match these things otherwise, and DCS ww2 will always stay as a paper thin experience. -

Looking back at things, i guess this is what it comes down to. Unless it´s a different enough variation so you can sell it as a new plane, it´s not going to happen. -
It´s just one of those things.. It´s fun to have historically accurate loadouts, planes and ground stuff.. but the selection of everything is so all over the place, that it´s near impossible to create a historically accurate scenario to play with them. So on the other hand wohoo! accuracy! On the other hand, everything is a constant compromise. Reflecting on that.. unless you are on a personal vendetta, i guess as long as the tower and other important landmarks are clearly recognizable, that´s good enough. If we ever want to get to play the actual map and not have Ugra tweaking minor details until the end of time.

Barthek's CAUCASUS REDONE 2022

This should help you, just instead of these settings, use Bartheks (or make your own.. i prefer very mild adjustments to improve the obvious faults of the game) -

I´m sure we´ll live.. just. -
I think most important is to just have anything you need in the air readily available. I´d check out Chucks guide to get basic mappings done, then play the tutorial missions and go from there. I´ve little by little done adjustments to my mappings when i´ve learned and understood more what i need and how often. Using a custom button box aswell though, so sharing my mappings wouldn´t help unfortunately. https://www.mudspike.com/chucks-guides-dcs/

Okay.. so i´m starting to turn towards the "this will be a really cool map" direction.

I just bought it couple damn weeks ago.. that´s just not right. Great that community is able to pick up though, even if i hate the damn thing myself. Couldn´t get consistent enough results after hours of trying, so i guess my mic and voice just aren´t made for voice recognition.

Pretty unlikely, unfortunately.

I just hope that people understand multicore support will not be the holy grail many seem think it will be. It should improve things somewhat, but that's about it.

2.8 upgrade Options and Control Screens now full page in size.
Tenebrae Aeternae replied to Catseye's topic in General Bugs
Makes life a lot better with a 16:9 monitor. Huge improvement to fit all devices in the screen at once.. was a bit of a pita earlier. Might wanna try UI scaling if (i'd imagine this is a very rare situation) it made it harder for you. -
Yes! Makes it so much better to map controls.
