  1. I think VRAM optimisation is the win-win, since everyone could enjoy what now is available only for 3090 and 3090Ti users.
  2. I lowered the graphics settings, especially textures to medium and terrain textures to low. It solved the problem. My guess is - it's some sort of VRAM overflow. With lower textures it uses less of VRAM and happens never more to me. The only card that can handle high textures settings now, is 3090 and 3090Ti (both with 24GB of VRAM). Otherwise DCS would load part of the textures to VRAM and rest of these to RAM, and there is the bottle neck I believe.
  3. I didn't plan that landing. It just happened... Navy can on the boat, Air Force can do on the tanker, right?
  4. I don't believe that's an issue. I was thinking it could be since I had the same problem since I bought Orion 2 (I installed it the day DCS 2.7.12.23362 Open Beta from 28.04.2022 was released and there in the update might be the problem, I believe). A friend of mine has TM Warthog like I had in the past and he's having the same problems with FPS drops, so that's exclude Orion 2 from the equation in this case. I've started noticing problems after DCS 2.7.12.23362 Open Beta from 28.04.2022. My guess is - some overflow happens when it comes to VRAM or some problems with RAM page file when there is not enough of VRAM, since the thing that helped me out a lot was lowering a lot of my graphic settings. Before the mentioned update I was pushing my settings to mid-high easy, now I have to play low-mid to not have same issue as the author of this topic and my mentioned friend - which is sudden drops from 45fps stable to 15-20fps and plenty of stutter. That FPS drop would last until I'd using Alt-Tab went out of DCS and using Alt-Tab went back to DCS while it's running (what was probably clearing some resources) - sometime it would bring back FPS to stable 45. If it wouldn't work it would require of DCS restart. My specs: i7-12700K 3080Ti 64GB RAM m2 SSD Reverb G2 Steam VR - Open FSR - Motion reprojection hard locked at 45 (The same issue was with Open XR and its own motion reprojection). Here are settings I was using before an update DCS 2.7.12.23362 Open Beta from 28.04.2022 (high settings) and after that update (lower settings) - to avoid mentioned FPS drops. THat drops would occur on any occasion either Single Player or Multi Player. DCS's hunger for resources is outstanding. The game can take 20GB of VRAM (AH64 on Mariana's Islands for an example). The most modern titles/the newest games - maybe not simulations, but still open world games - would take 4-8GB of VRAM... So, c'mon....
  5. I'm curious how would work OpenKneeboard mod for VR. Basically we can have a real graphic tablet on our leg and using a pencil just write things on the tablet, while these would show up on the virtual knee board in the game. I'm not sure if OpenKneeboard mod can be displayed while on F10 map. anyone has any experience with that mod?
  6. Can we have some VRAM optimisation, please? The game uses some ridiculous amounts of VRAM. Someone did a video showing that DCS can reach out for 19GB of VRAM. Only 3090(Ti) has the room for that... I believe on any other system (without 3090 or 3090Ti) it would reach for RAM to compensate. I know he pushed the setting a bit, but still... Thank you.
  7. Along with the pilot's body coming, could we have an updated ACES II for F16, please? It's wired when after ejection there is suddenly ACES II from A10.
  8. So the way to go is to disable it all the time, right? I think I've heard that somewhere else too.
  9. Any chance hands of that body could be animated according to hands tracking?
  10. The 'two arrow key' on ICP is not switching waypoints/steer-points anymore either on DED or HSD. The only way to change these is to set '4' on ICP and put it manually.
  11. The same now on F16 Orion 2 WinWing throttle. Mavs are unmanagable when using mini-joystick. HSD, FCR, TGP are perfect. I've noticed cool thing on TGP, the bigger the zoom, the slower it moves around. That's smart.
  12. Yep. That's why I always take TGP on board when going out with Mavs. It's so much more precise. But - yet - sometime I wish I had this VIS available just in case, but it's (seems) unmanageable on mini-joystick.
  13. I just gave it a go to see, but no - no changes at mines. Depending on the map I can cap at 30 or 45FPS. I'm trying if I'd get this bug when it would get to 15 suddenly. Maybe you have the same issue. Sometime it drops like that with unknown to me reason. Restarting DCS helps.
  14. I had issues with OXR so I swapped to SVR for a while. I see no more any improvement. Both OXR and SVR gives me exact the same FPS. And OXR seems to be bugged so I get massive drops to like 15FPS from 50-70FPS and it stays there until I'd restart DCS. I don't get this on SVR, so probably staying with SVR.
  15. I don't remember it on 2070, maybe because of 17-25 FPS all the time anyway. Or maybe because I was running without OpenXR back then, I switched to OXR after upgrading to 3080ti. Any ideas how to avoid that? The funny thing is I get the same FPS with SteamVR now and OpenXR, so maybe I should just switch back to SVR. If I uncap FPS, I get 45-70FPS (depends on MP server) both with OXR and SVR. I know I'm pushing my settings/textures/sliders hard, but...If I'd go to lowest settings in DCS I get like 60-70 FPS and a bit of stutter anyway, so I just push sliders up and use motion reprojection. I think I'll go back for a while to SVR and try its own motion reprojection, to se if I get VRAM overflows too.
  16. Thanks for all the help, guys. I'll give it all go and try yours ideas.
  17. Thanks. I didn't know that. It could be a thing. It's just a bit annoying that we need i9th and 3090ti to run it anyhow playable in VR while having any sort of the details to it. I mean i7/3080ti/64GB and it's still bottlenecking every now and then. Then I play the newest games with graphic 100% better than DCS and it's just butter smooth... Thank you for pointing this out. (edit: I'll try smaller preload radius, maybe that would help).
  18. Do any of you guys get sometime FPS drops, like huge ones that require to restart DCS or do some Alt+Tab magic? I get stable 45FPS mostly, but every now and then, playing on MP servers, it would drop to 15FPS. I could do Alt+Tab to switch out of DCS and then Alt-Tab to go back and the FPS would go back to 45, but not always - if these wouldn't then I need to restart DCS. The question is, is Motion Reprojection failing sometime and goes this way or somehow priorities and resources in the system are switched somewhere else and DCS gets less. I have a clean Windows and clean DCS and nothing more installed on my SSD. Cheers.
  19. It could be better or not, I don't know. I think sometime build in solutions works better. I'm having massive FPS drops every now and then , form like 45FPS stable to 15FPS constant. Sometime it helps if I'd do Alt+Tab to switch out of DCS and witch back to it, and FPS would be back to 45, but it not always works and I need to restart DCS then. I feel like it may be something with OpenXR Motion Reprojection. Still I'm guessing now. I don't believe ED would implement it anyway. Flat screen don't need that, VR is too small market yet, to move some developing resources there, so the topic is going to die anyway, I believe. My bad, I changed general setting, not per-game one. I'll give it another go. Cheers!
  20. Unfortunately it doesn't work for VR. It doesn't lock in VR at all.
  21. All right - all my problems with OpenXR Toolkit not working sorted. It appears OpenXR Toolkit needs VisualC++ Redistributables that wasn't with Windows Installation Files, so it needs additional download after installing Windows. https://mbucchia.github.io/OpenXR-Toolkit/troubleshooting.html#missing-visual-c-system-component Thank you for all the help and support!
  22. All right, this is wired then. I have a clean fresh updated Windows 10 Pro, clean fresh install of DCS. I did everything according to the description and it gives me all sort of errors (please, see 2 posts above with the screenshots), and not running if OpenXR Toolkit is installed, but... DCS doesn't care from what partition it is started, so I started my PC from a different partition where DCS is not even installed, but I have all sots of crap installed instead. Then I followed all OpenXR steps from the description in this post, then I started DCS manually in the same Windows system where DCS is not even installed (I just did look for DCS.exe in my games folder on the other partition and clicked it) - and everything works perfect! So the question is, what am I missing on fresh installed and updated Windows with fresh/clean install of DCS? Some Java runtime, some Framework, some file, anything comes to mind?
  23. I forgot to mention, I run Reverb G2. I can't run OpenXR Toolkit in game and I can't set FSR/NIS. I can open Open XR Toolkit outside the game only. When I do, I get this message: "Error: Failed to querry version" and then OpenXR Toolkit would open. I use 1.1.0 version, but older would give the same message to me.
  24. Please, could we have FPS limiter in game, it would be very helpful for VR especially. Limiting FPS helps to avoid stutter a lot. I was using Open XR Toolkit for that, but it's 3rd party software and causes some issues sometime too - yet is showed that capping FPS at 1/2 or 1/3 of VR headset refresh rate is a huge improvement in smoothness of the game. Thank you.
