  1. Here's a thought for you. If you really like it that much and think it is worth more, buy multiple copies and give them to your friends; who knows, you might get some more people involved in DCS. How's that for sunshine and bunnies?
  2. I'm going to be honest here, I don't like the idea of adding thing new things into the cockpit unless it is going to be added to the 3D model. 2D textures made to look 3D look pretty poor in my opinion.
  3. The only way to fix all DCS crashes is to uninstall the game and burn your hard drive.
  4. I appreciate your work Dragon, but I would rather have smooth FPS than ambiance.
  5. Has the awful accuracy of the Kh-58 and Kh-25MPU been fixed?
  6. Indeed. It's about as daft as your assumption that's there's only 1 or 2 coders.
  7. Coder A is working on AFM because he specialises in physics and flight models. Coder B is working on avionics because that is what he is used to coding. This is why coders work in teams. This technique is known as parallel development. Development teams very rarely work in a single stranded linear fashion, as per your example.
  8. What? Sorry, I can't tell what you're trying to say. :(
  9. A tester's word isn't the be all and end all though. I don't see the problem here. Like I said, your high fidelity models are coming; they didn't deceive you. Granted, it wasn't crystal clear, but I didn't think it was so bad as to make people think this was a bait and switch.
  10. I think some of you have some serious reading comprehension issues: Your "DCS: F-15C Eagle" and "DCS: Su-27S Flanker" are coming, just not yet. Relax people, all in good time :).
  11. I'm interested depending on two conditions: 1) Something other than just AFM; 2) Reasonably priced. Number one is flexible, the second not so much. $40 or $50 would be out of the question, $30 would be pushing it. Of course, this is feature dependent and I would pay a higher price for additional features other than AFM.
  12. Hey all, Got an update on this. The problem has been narrowed down to using RDP to connect to the server. Connecting to the direct console session via something like Teamviewer eliminates the warping.
  13. Too many cooks and all that. Unless OP means parallel development, that is.
  14. Blackshark 2 was a new game in the same sense that Windows 7 SP1 was a new OS.
  15. Like it or not, that's what the author states. For me, it has to be a TOW capable platform or at least something similar that can fire ATGMs.
  16. Please, cry me a river. If you wish to go into the specifics of our generation gap, I'm more than happy to oblige over PM. I've had a quick chat about this with people in my gaming community, who as I'm sure you're pleased to find out ,range from my age to over 40, and their opinion is the same: too expensive. I understand, Sobek. Thank-you for pointing that out. You're certainly right in that regard.
  17. Please, tell me where I said this. And for the record, I'm not even 20, however I am educated in business studies. Furthermore, if you wish to play this game, I presume you belong to the generation which screwed the future of mine up? I appreciate that some of us have different opinions based on different perspectives and experiences. It appears that some of us do not. Good day.
  18. ...which is a silly idea because you can price out a significant portion of your market, which appears to have happened (especially evident in the Russian forums). Blatant, short term greed as demonstrated here doesn't go down too well with the customer base. It tends to leave a bitter taste in the mouth. One of the times this type of pricing strategy is appropriate is when selling a niche product to a market segment with high disposable income. This certainly fits a wide portion of our demographic, but I'm pretty certain more sales would have been achieved if $5-10 was shaved off the unit price, more than likely equating to equal revenue. What I'm trying to say is that although the current strategy provides better control over long-term pricing, I doubt the revenue generated will be that much different. What this likely boils down to is greed vs. customer satisfaction.
  19. $50 is out of the question. $40 would have been more reasonable. I imagine there's quite a few lost sales out there as a result of this unfortunate pricing decision.
  20. Well done, gentlemen. I am truly in awe.
  21. I keep getting a hash error and it seems that the autoupdater doesn't attempt to redownload files that fail the check and just closes (why?). Is there any way I can delete the download cache and restart the whole download operation?
  22. ED has an uncanny habit of reminding me of Fawlty Towers.
  23. Let me put it this way. I always used to attempt to keep the Flanker at arms length by winning the BVR duel. With 1.2.3, that went out of the window as the AMRAAM always seems to fail me unless I'm < 5 miles away or the target is not maneuvering. Neither of these scenarios are good for me as it forces me out of my comfort zone. Now, post merge, the majority of my experience comes from Strike Fighters 2 in the F-4. So let's say against the MiG-17/9, I would always keep my speed above 400kts and fight in the vertical. This would generally work because those early missiles are crap, and I would play boom and zoom. Now fast forward to the era of the R-73, and that no longer works and I can't get away with it. What do I do? Assume head on merge at same altitude, ~600kts, typical mixed loadout for the participants.
  24. While we're on the subject, can anybody share some tips for the F-15 vs the more agile jets?
  25. Don't encourage them, lol.
