There's a lot more to it than that, though. FSX has infrastructure, DCS does not. DCS needs decent ATC for a start.

I'd be very happy with either, but more satisfied with the W if that makes sense. I'm more interesting in it being an ATGM platform. I wouldn't have bought a G, but S or W is certainly something I would considering buying.

If you only do client side you can't guarantee all clients see the same thing. It's unlikely that they will be different, but with this sort of thing if it can go wrong it will go wrong.

No. Why would you need to do that? [/sarcasm] I really hope they improve the multiplayer UI - it looks like something straight out of the 90s. For some reason you have to tell it to connect to the master server despite it being a required action (why not just do it automatically?) and you can't filter anything. I just don't understand why such basic features aren't there.

With difficulty! No, I just use the included stand. Last year when I had no overhead clearance for it, I used to use blutack to stick it to the frame. When it heated up it made a sticky mess but it did the job.

I dunno about the rest of you, but I can see the smoke before I see the aircraft usually. I did have screenshots but I lost them when I did a clean 1.2.8 install. I'll try grab some when I see it happen next. Running a 7950.

Absolutely. I only got to play WTS twice before things got knackered and I loved it both times. There's a distinct lack of quality co-op missions - probably because of things like this.
