[Official] SimShaker for Aviators

alright, thank you! i am currently doing more research: with the JetSeat app, and there on the Test section, only 3 motors are working: 3, 4 and 6. 1 and 2 (4 motors in total) are completely dead, so absolutely no vibrations under my butt same for 5. just out of curiousity, i guess it was the main platine in the middle that was faulty? -

alright i think i have a mechanical failure only 3 vibration motors work when i test them with the SSA tool … i will have to investigate further tomorrow, cause indont have much time today, but is there a chance that this is a known problem @=Andre=? i will measure the contacts tomorrow, but so far i cannot see anything obvious, like loose strips etc -

hey guys. i have the seat for a few months now and i love it! a few days ago, i actually noticed that there is no ground bump effect anymore. i am not really sure since when this is gone, but i know that it worked when i first used the seat. what also doesnt work is touchdown vibration, neither in the f16 nor in i.e. the hind. i made some custom settings in the SSA app, one profile for every of my planes and helos, but i didnt turn of any setting. besides of that, everything works fine; afterburner, g forces, weapon release, gun, flaps, turbulence, speed breaks, even gear up and down works. i think because of that i can safely say that it is not a mechanical failure of the jetpad. i am always updating the SSA. has there been some change on an update last time? any suggestions? -
casmo meantened in its video, that this is a cementary factory somewhere in syria, and that he already landed there in real life with an apache! it was destroyed in 2019 by some strike eagles. really interesting stuff!

Is there some kind of demo or try-out day for helicopters?
NWGJulian replied to JetCat's topic in DCS: AH-64D
like others said, you can try every module in dcs for 2 weeks, completely free! so, choose you favourite module you would like to try out, go to youtube and find your first basic information. after that, try to find a basic binding profile for your particular joystick and throttle. read into the controls and find out what you need. take 2 weeks off from work. start the trial, download it, set your bindings, and let the fun begin. what i want to say, you need preparation and a good amount of time. in 30minutes, you cannot do anything, thats not how A) helicopters and B) dcs modules in general work. -
+1 i do 100% agree, that canopy foging should be a thing – at least somewhere at the end of the early access. definitelly not at start of EA. it is a thing in the JF17, and i hope it will be one in the F18 and F16 too at some point. it is imho a nice addition to the realism.

i am pretty sure online AI gunner will be possible; there is no reason it would not. it is possible in the f14, in the huey and in the hind. the only problem with the AI gunner will be, that he never ever will be as clever and as accurate as a real human cpg. i am pretty sure that it will be enjoyable with george AI in multiplayer, just like singleplayer, but of course with some downsides. but imho, this is nothing to worry about; a match of counter strike, tetris or mario kart will ALWAYS be better with humans instead of AI … thats what i wanted to say in my initial post -> if you want to get the 100% perfect apache experience, you need a human cpg i am also pretty sure that you will be able to switch seats, go to the cpg slot and let „george“ fly the apache; but just in single player, not in multiplayer i do 100% believe in ED that they will make flying with the AI as enjoyable as with a human buddy

this is the trim hat

btw. in chucks guide, he says: „Gently pull back on the stick to flare and reduce the descent rate. DO NOT level off!“ i find this very interesting, and i think that is why i pull the throttle fwd a tiny bit -> because i actually want to level off; i thought its the whole point of the flare to get a very very smooth and light landing? its just floating for a very short time, very close from the ground. of course, it increases the needed runway a little bit. but i never had a problem with the length of the rw in the viper, and it feels a lot better this way
-
i guess there is a optimal AGL value for when to start the flare? hmmm tbh i think i am flaring too late, not too early
-
very interessting to read that! because, since i dont go to idle while flaring (juust a tiny little bit of throttle), my landings in the viper are smooth as f . . . with throttle on idle, i had some pretty hard landings; flaring didnt seem to help very much, and with the increased aoa i also touched the tarmac with the nozzle. tiny bit of throttle helped a lot to smooth out my landings. but maybe i am just flaring too late, or i am too slow (aiming for 11 degr aoa every time), idk, i am just a hobby viper pilot

first time ever i pre-ordered a dcs module
-
thats just my opinion, nothing more. i think a good working multicrew implementation is way more important that a perfect AI; i think jester and petrovic both work very good, but from what i read here people seem to want „more“.
-
hands down guys, flying a 2 seated aircraft alone with just an AI on the other seat, is and will always be a compromise. i mean what do you expect from an AI? in the end its just an AI. those aircrafts are meant to be flown with 2 humans, thats whats the main priority is and should be (imho)
-
pretty sure you can swap seats. the AI is called george, and will be mostly like petrovic in the hind i guess. however i dont think you will be able to swap seats in multiplayer, but thats not really necessary if multicrew works good
-
i think thats too early. if its similar to the other modules, i should arrive around 28th dec .. but i hope you are right
-
now we finally know, he is called George

got a little bit quiet here and on wags‘ youtube channel, calm before the storm i hope?

i made two seperate sheets now: one for pilot and another for the gunner. the sheet from my pdf above was basically for the gunner (tedac controls). the pilots sheet is obviously a lot simpler, because the whole tedac controls are missing. this is all - as said before - 100% WIP, so expect large changes here as soon as the module arrives. as a non-apache pilot in reallife, there is obviously a lot of confusion about the controls itself, which hopefully gets solved when the EA hits. but maybe they work as a starting point. its also a lot of fun to create such sheets and generally to think into the controls of such a beast! ideas are - like always - welcomed! you are probably right, i should add a legend for it. but to make it short: red means no modifier at all, red is always working, indepent of any modifier state green applies when you put the pinky switch on the throttle forward (it is called „modifier fcr **“ on the sheet) blue applies when you put the pinky switch on the throttle backwards (it is called „modifier tads *“ on the sheet)

to be super honest from my side here: as long as i dont see the ah64 on the dcs website, and as long as i am unable to pay a real penny for it, i dont trust these guys that the apache module is actually REAL! so far, this whole topic is nothing more than a wet dream. as soon as i pay real money for it, i can really know that this whole thing is not just an aprils joke i know, that sounds super weird. but for me this is all too good to be true. i think that is the reason why i am so hyped for the pre order start.
-
if i do that, then i can completely get rid of the pinky switch as a modifier. and bind every fcr and tads control input on an own switch/hat. but i dont have enough switches on my hotas, thats why i made these 2 modifiers. or did i missunderstood something terribly wrong here? my understanding was: as a gunner, you either control the fcr (switch forward) or the tads (switch back), but not those 2 together. just to clear it up, only the green and blue texts are modified bindings. all those who are red, are working independent from the pinkie mod switch.
