  1. Have only played through the first 3 missions so far, but I have to say the writing and voice acting in this campaign is awesome and really sets a new bar for how entertaining those elements of a campaign can be. Never really realized how much more entertaining campaigns could be if the writers didn't restrict themselves to "PG" dialog!
  2. Would be great to see HDR support in the near future. FS2020 for example looks incredible with HDR10 enabled. The great looking clouds and lighting in DCS would be taken to a whole other level with HDR support!
  3. Also just encountered the issue with the SAM.
  4. Am I correct in assuming that DCS still doesn't support HDR? I've been playing it on an OLED TV and it looks pretty decent after reducing the gamma setting to 1.4, but in night missions it's necessary to decrease it all the way down to ~1.1 to get rid of weird looking banding in the sky.
  5. Finished this campaign last week. Played through it on 2.5.6 to avoid issues with clouds and it was a great experience! Best single player experience in DCS I've had to date. Now on to the F/A-18 and Raven One! It seems like pretty much all campaigns have issues with clouds in 2.7. I don't really know how campaign creators code weather settings, but it seems to me that the campaign creators should put some pressure on ED to fix things on their end, so that the previous weather settings are more accurately reflected in 2.7. It doesn't really make sense for all of the campaign creators to have to go back and fix every campaign for something that ED broke on their end.
  6. Just played this mission. It took me probably 5-10 minutes to successfully refuel, then I used the spacebar prompt to tell my wingman to take on fuel. I heard the radio message from the tanker indicating that he was taking on fuel, but after that my wingman just flew in formation maybe 100-200 feet above the tanker indefinitely, and I couldn't get the rest of the mission to advance. Tried time accelerating for a while, also tried flying on to the next waypoints, but didn't have any luck.
  7. This is the same deal with countless other campaigns. I keep saying this, but it seems like ED needs to change something on their end so that weather settings are being displayed as intended in 2.7. It shouldn't be that every single campaign creator has to go back and change all of this stuff.
  8. @baltic_dragon Thanks for the reply. I installed 2.5.6 and have been having a better experience with that version. With how much of a difference there is (skies going from almost completely overcast to almost completely clear), I have to imagine that it is not only your campaign that is affected, but perhaps most of them. Maybe ED needs to tweak something on their end so that old weather settings are still correctly reflected in 2.7.
  9. Clouds really seem to be a big problem in 2.7. I'm finding mission 6 to be extremely difficult because there is a thick layer of cloud just above the mountain peaks that covers pretty much the entire area you patrol, meaning you have to be extremely quick with target acquisition and are really vulnerable to AA. I looked up a video on YouTube of someone else playing this in 2.5.6, and it was like a completely different scenario. They were able to just cruise around at 20,000 feet and get their sensors on target from many miles away. In 2.5 there was only the occasional cloud, in 2.7 it is straight up overcast with an occasional gap in the clouds. What is the best way to work around this issue? Should I just install 2.5 and copy my save games over? Or is there an easy way to edit the missions? Maybe I could just set everything to clear skies until this is resolved. Thanks!
  10. Started the Enemy Within 3.0 campaign recently and also having issues with this. I just played mission 6, and a lot of them so far have pretty thick cloud that covers most of the ground below your waypoint altitudes. Mission 3 comes to mind where you're cruising between waypoints and are supposed to spot burning buildings but the entire area is totally masked by cloud for miles. Mission 6 has the "look at that dam" moment yet again it's just a solid layer of clouds for miles in every direction. Kinda seems like the cloud density settings end up being a lot ticker in 2.7? Definitely adds to the difficulty as you have to get below the cloud layer to engage the enemy which makes it easier to get hit by AA. Great campaign so far otherwise.
