  1. Thanks for your work, the Mirage is my go to aircraft, even if I suck at A2A :)
  2. The screeching 'flying chicken leg'. Great views from the bubble and great for airborne FAC.
  3. Hov'vering will be a challenge, wonder how that will work with Hotas set ups? I suppose on a twin throttle set up one could be nozzles.
  4. Around the same timeline as the Gr.5 (AV-8B) and Gr.7 (AV-8B NA) mattebubben, except you guys had the better performance engine up to when we got it with the Gr.7A. At least strafe will be an option
  5. Holbeach, although a sad picture it could have been worse, those are ex NSW wafu Harriers. ;)
  6. At least it's still a Harrier. Thanks for the update, really looking forward to this one.
  7. Does anyone remember the cold war map from Tornado? That was pretty small but detailed (for the time) but contained a good spread of targets, road airfields and natural features. A similar map would be great for Viggen and Cold War NATO / Warsaw Pact aircraft. Perhaps the map could have pre placed targets and a complete set of training missions from basic flight, weapon employment (with a2g range features/scoring) and advanced multi aircraft missions, then once you've completed these, an awesome euro campaign. You don't have to do all the training to get access to missions, so, no grind.

Just pretend you're on exchange like quite a few USMC GR.7 pilots.. :)
  9. Ah, TIARA. Wondered when she'd get sold, looks like QinetiQ have had a clear out.
  10. Looking good already :)
  11. Just in case we're running low on Harrier vids.. [ame] [/ame] [ame] [/ame]
  12. Thanks. Is there a version without the music?
  13. That was insightful. Don't worry, I understood it and I'm sure most did, thanks for the update, new to me.
  14. Well said that man :)
  15. Not if there's an S400 anywhere near you that a l/l Harrier attack hasn't nailed first Sweep.. ;)
  16. Well said Brixmis, I'd rather the GR7 as well. But failing that, even an AV8A would do!
  17. Quote "am hoping for 30 second water bottle rule enforcement" was what I was referring to.
  18. DR I seem to recall it was 90 seconds of demineralised water, did USMC have different rules? Might be wrong, it's been a few years.. :)
  19. Great stuff, Just missing the much chanted advert for "Allan's snack bar!"

What is the real RAF Harrier without a gun that shot down a supersonic aircraft? ;) The best bomber in the airforce, but only if you judge it on the result of the 'Batemans' bombing contest..we would put a bid on a pilot to win, and normally a Harrier pilot would win. One man one fan...

Mmm..the Sea Jet. It would be class, and the earlier (less ugly) version would open up a new map (FI), then we'd need a GR.3..and Mirage 3, Canberra, SkyHawk, Pucara... Jet Thunder on steroids!

Brixmis, we have something in common too, but it has more to do with what crashed!

You're quite right. The Brits worked along side the USMC in a few places and had a few of their exchange guys on the squadrons. Perhaps you know them, or were one of them, you seem well informed. Brit were also night attack. Personally I'd like the GR.7 as it's something which did a sterling job in the FRY, Iraq and Afghanistan despite it's differences. Small scope doesn't have to be boring, the Brit Harrier will bring a lot to the party. DCS unfortunately doesn't seem to model the kind of joint ops set up you refer to so perhaps the UK Harrier will be good enough. I'm just glad someone is finally going to bring a fly able Harrier to DCS. At least we won't have to simulate bits dropping off the UK aircraft?

RAF Harriers were originally land based although they were no strangers to carriers either. The GR.9 had a bigger engine than the GR.7, not the AV8B. You would not lose naval ops with the GR.7 as it operated from through deck cruisers as well as land bases. The GR.7 often flew support for Royal Marines, and there were also a few RM Harrier pilots. The only thing we'll miss out on imho is the cannons. Can live without those though.

Gr.7 please. And two skins, one with a red, yellow and black fin cap - and one with a yellow green and yellow. No need for the others ;)
