Both Bob and Charlie flew Spitfires, Bob in the Battle and Charlie at air shows. Their opinion is still vastly more believable than that of 'book' experts. The carb problem on a Spit was well known and the guys flew around the problem. As for the 109? No idea, never worked on them.

I noticed Fab is using a Rift,does Helios work with VR? If someone could also remove the canopy arch (or make it invisible) it would make formation keeping a little easier.

It sounds a bit like the ones fitted to Lancasters, if so then it's used as a flame cover and designed to make visual recognition harder at night for the enemy night fighters.

Yes, an overprime or hot start can do this. Always a bit of a shock for the new Spitfire pilot and ground crew..more for the pilot who will get ribbed by the groundcrew at the next beer call. TE311 is a Mk LF Mk XVIe, but over primes can happen on all the flights aircraft...to the unlucky!

Sorry, not a fan of the DCS:Spitfire theme. Anything RAF inspired would be good (yes I know other nations flew the Spitfire thanks) or something like the Janes attack squadron theme or something inspired by band of brothers might be more fitting?

Not a Spit but illustrative of the patches on the IIc Hurricane, and a pic of the Mk.9 before it got repainted, think it had the ports doped...I know the cannon really hurts...when you stand up and your head hits it!. :lol:
