I've got step 1,2 and 7 done, not sure about about the rest. For example how do you set a cap, a tanker orbit, a ground alert, how many 'things' make up a SAM site (that works)? Things like that would be useful.
Once they’ve got the FI under their belts then there should be no stopping Razbams third party map development, who knows what we’ll see next? The FI will be ideal Harrier territory in a hypothetical USMC vs campaign.
Unless you're in a radar equipped Harrier optimised for A2A then the Sidewinders are really only there for self defence (or downing hapless L-39s/Mi-8s. Yes aware that sidewinders are not radar guided thanks ;) ).
Find your DCS folder, look for 'bin' folder. Left shift+right click and choose new process window (or something like that). Windows 10 type cmd when the window appears, then type 'DCS_Updater.exe update' and press enter.
Nice stream, I flew into Khasab many years ago, it looked very familiar as did the coast route after that . Have you modeled the polution 'haze' that hangs over the gulf these days?

Typical 3 Sqn...Any jet would have done this to be fair. In the UK this year a Vampire jet ripped up a runway taking off for a display.
I'm sure the Viggen guys were going to implement something like that, you could order them to meet you somewhere on the map? The ability to drop a NATO 'T' (although off topic) and have a nearby tanker for helicopters would also be good.
Although we talk of FARPS, the DCS maps have plenty of airfields, these would be FOBs (Forward Operating Base) and would be where most of the fleet would live and operate during any operation.
A Harrier needs a length of runway/road/matting/hard grass to get airborne with a useful fuel/weapons load, although it can recover vertically after most of the fuel and weapons are expended. IIRC DCS FARPs were designed with helicopters in mind.
In the UK ‘You’ would wear your ‘nite’ helmet and carry the goggs out to the jet for attaching later if you were flying a day into night trip. The difference comes when you use the same Gentex helmet for day and night flying which means fitting an NVG banana bar.
This is a sim though so potentially you could just press the N key and avoid all the hassle.
