  1. Looks a bit odd for NVG image, no green (it’s not Video), no grain and you can see the other colours.
  2. I believe most losses were due to the engine stopping, the aircraft operating down to 100 feet which was bird strike territory...thankfully Martin-Baker provided a great ejection seat! We had a few different aircraft losses that weren’t engine related, one chap flew into the ground at night and got ejected, one where the flaps stayed down as the nozzles move back after take off, pitching the aircraft forward onto its back, the pilot ejected and is still the sole survivor of this type of event..
  3. 'We' lost 'quite a few' frames and sadly one pilot in the six years I was on the Harrier force. http://www.ejection-history.org.uk/aircraft_by_type/harrier/harrier.htm
  4. Well...what ever the price, she's now got a permanent place in my hangar :)
  5. uscstaylor you'll be okay, you can be an exchange driver.. :D
  6. Now that's an intro! Thanks for the vid.
  7. You can get to one end of the runway at Luke for approach shots. Check out the CAF museum at Falcon field, they usually have their B17 flying daily.
  8. From what we've seen your AV8B N/A looks stunning, well done mate(s).
  9. Thanks, certainly bought back some memories. Love the the bit near the end where the commentator mentions the bird.. Zeus will we see the upside down arrows on the HUD for hot areas?
  10. I agree, RAZBAM have been great at giving us info and progress pics, much more customer facing than some devs. It will be well worth the wait. :)
  11. I hope that's what they've already been doing. This 'announce then release several weeks later' is a killer. Why not just release into early access, we've caught the hype train already.
  12. Excellent!
  13. Scarves used to be a big thing in the 1970/80s, now there's high neck suits and underwear that makes them obsolete. They were good for stopping flames going on the neck during flash fires.
  14. Good new, thanks.
  15. In real life you'd get rid of the tanks (hence the name, drop tanks) before pulling that sort of G, my guess is that prolonged exposure to high G in real life would cause all sorts of fatigue problems and possibly the mechanical locks on the pylons aren't cleared for that load? My central tank always seem to fall off under any duress.
  16. 60% off F5, nothing to do with Harrier this week.
  17. http://www.pprune.org/military-aviation/414038-harrier-transition-hover.html
  18. Hover stop is 80 degrees nozzle if that was the question?
  19. The witches hat is the depressed attitude symbol. IIRC It's the one in the centre of the HUD in the picture, link below. http://www.harrierpilot.com/apr02/hud2a.jpg
  20. Let's hope they do it justice, it's one of the aircrafts unique signatures. Like the RR Merlin/Packard in the Spitfire/Mustang..which unfortunately leave a bit of room for improvement (on my pc).
  21. I remember those..as I recall they didn't do too much to close the vents.. :)
  22. I see what you're saying and I might be far of the mark here, but as I understood this was a function of the HOTAS software rather than the module? For example my Rhino stick software allows programming of multiple switch positions within DCS.
  23. The what? Think it's the 33 and it won't be clickable cockpit and still very much an FC3 aircraft. The Harrier on the otherhand...:)
  24. Wrong about the Hawk? ;-)
  25. Laarparts and Cott..seems like an eon ago now. :( You?
