  1. Just have a look at the illustration in the DCS manual or the one in the Dash1. Basically they're both pretty much the same. But 180-200 is good, getting slower in the final, until final approach speed is set.
  2. Acutally 60° turns are completely correct for a pattern. Just increase your thrust as soon as you roll into the turn to maintain speed. That way you should be safe from stalls. But: A pattern should be flown at 1500ft (+field elevation).
  3. Or when you switch from a X52pro (or whatever type of stick) to a TM Warthog (or whatever type of stick)! *happyashellaboutmyawsomenewtoy*
  4. Guys, turn off the labels! ... at least for screenshots... ;)
  5. Yeah, they're real classics!
  6. In fact no, but I was in a mission (on my way home) when I took the pics. ;) But I'll do some more shots with higher settings and I'll post 'em here as soon as I have nice ones.
  7. My system is running close to it's limits and the shadows have been one thing that I chose to lower for the sake of a little performance. ;) As soon as I get a new graphics-card, which will be after I saved enough money for a HOTAS Warthog, I'll sure be ready for putting the settings back up. And TY guys, glad you like the pics!
  8. Yeah, I also had a smile on my face at this part. :joystick:
  9. Thats a valid point, but gettin' in contact with the troops on the ground would be great in MP too. :music_whistling:
  10. TY Tyger, will do. But I'd like to see some stuff more detailed in the manual anyway... ;)
  11. As with a lot of topics I ask myself if things like this will be covered in more detail in upcoming versions of the manual. There's really a LOT of things one needs to find out for himself or by the help of the community. At least some links to websites or documents explaining things more detailed would be VERY useful. (CCIP-Modes, TO-TO/TO-FROM/etc. navigation modes, weapon settings,.... and sure some more points).
  12. I wonder why the rounds explode. Always thought they'd fly ballistic and only explode when they hit something.

    Scale modeling

At least it equals that by looking really dangerous. ;)
  14. Ever since all client ACs needed to be put in different groups. I don't think this will change with further updates.

But it's ugly as hell... :megalol:
  16. Aaaaahhhhh...... Got it! TY Sir!
  17. Could you be so kind and tell me how the f#*$ that works??
  18. Not a Shilka but a Tunguska. Great vid anyway... I give up... :(
  19. I'm by far not so deep into aerodynamics as you guys are, but I got to mention, that I think I already managed (accidently) to stall one engine in the DCS:A-10. I was operating the TAD and didn't observe my attitude a while too long when I noticed, that I was about to hit the ground. I made a sudden heavy pull on the stick and the AC got into some strange movements (can't say which kind of stall/spin it was...). After having it recovered I noticed one of my engines loosing RPM, ending up flamed out. Impressive!
  20. Maybe you had that already, but I liked it so much...
  21. @BlueRidgeDx: As Olgerd said, you can choose whether you use metric or imperial system in-game. And if weights remain metric we have a very small problem, don't you think? Functionality of the AC and the ME and capabilities of the AI are way more important than the units. That's all I'm about. I don't say it would be realistic to have everything in metric units, but at least it would be problem I could easily fix myself, other than missing functionalities of the above mentioned parts of the game.
  22. And finally it's not the hardest task to calculate KG to pounds... Same for meters-miles, knots-km/h etc.
  23. What is so hard to understand? DX9 doesn't mean 10 or 11 it means 9!!! 9c to be precise... How many further pages in this thread will it need to get this into everybodys heads??
