  1. Glad you liked the checklist. Thanks for the credits. Checking out your version now...
  2. Hi strtok, welcome to the Forums. The Flight Manual covers the whole procedure and that is the first thing I would refer you to page 318. Then do a search in the PDF Flight Manual for JTAC, to find out more. Second, you can go to this forum sub section http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=130 and search for JTAC inside the Forum. Hope this helps.
  3. Thanks Shu! Did you by chance keep a changelog for this update so I can print only the changed/new plates?
  4. Hey MerlinCH65, welcome to the forums. Just before the Steam release, I started a thread to help answer some of your questions. Hope you find some valuable information in there. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=72125&highlight=pilots+inbound
  5. A10FAN, check out what worked for me, look at post #15 on page 2. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1088765&postcount=15
  6. Hi rss0900 welcome to the forums. To answer question #1, you are most likely seeing the effects of a cross wind on your aircraft. The HUD Drift is normal with a crosswind. #2 is going to be a bit more difficult, can you give me a bit more information? The TGP return to boresight is China Hat Aft short. (Boresight is a technical term for "back to center" BTW)
  7. I know it seemed as though I was "casting a large net" with that explanation, but I have to write to the reader who is not as advanced as you are. But it does apply to you, because if your NET Settings are incorrect, you will never receive your wingman's Mini-SPI. To your issue specifically, all I can tell you is that I have seen the wingman's Mini-SPI come up on my TAD, and it is not from one that I have sent him. It is from a target he has spotted, and I have allowed him to engage. As the Sim stands now, you can not send your wingman out to recon an area, and he would not be much of a wingman if he left your wing! He will report target's he is in range of though. The wingman must have first spotted the target, which means he is within a certain distance from the target. When he can see a target, he reports it. When you tell him to engage a target that he has just seen, then he will reply copy, or negative. If he says copy, you can start looking on your TAD for his Mini-SPI. I would keep the AI wingman in perspective, he is not ever going to be as good as your TGP combined with a thinking human pilot. I use him as a maverick hauler, and sometimes a secondary missile launch warning system. In fact, I try to keep him out of the FEBA, and have him orbit 5-7 nm from the FEBA, until I eliminate much of the SAM/AAA threat. Then bring him in on the lowest threat targets I need taken out.
  8. Avatar, I do not think your NET Settings are correct, so I wrote up a brief review of how the NET Settings work. I hope once you get these sorted out, you will see that your wingman is sending you Mini-SPI's when he is engaging a target. Regarding NET Settings: You have 2 variables in your NET Settings, OWN ID, and GROUP ID. OWN ID=Your position in the group. Since you are the flight lead 90% of the time, your OWN ID is usually set to 01. If you are the wingman in the flight, your OWN ID would be set to 02. GROUP ID=Your Flight Group (You and your wingmen). Your wingmen's TAD icon will be BLUE when your GROUP ID and theirs matches. If the icon is GREEN, then you are not in the same group. GROUP ID is not always set correctly when you start a mission, so check your GROUP ID settings when you start a mission and make note of it. For example, you may start out with your GROUP ID set to 02 by the mission designer, and you can see your wingmen in blue, (you are all on the same Group) but in order to get a SADL Datalinked Target (Red Triangle) from JTAC, you need to be on GROUP 01. So, before you contact JTAC, you need to switch to GROUP 01, then get the Datalink Target, HOOK the target, make it your SPI, and accept the assignment with the WILCO button on the TAD. Now you can switch your GROUP ID back to 02, and then with your SPI Broadcasting ON, your wingman can "see" your SPI, or you can send it to him directly, by hooking him and then hitting the SENDXXX (Where X represents the wingman's Net ID) If your net settings are correct, you will see a mini-SPI from your wingman with a blue line going between his plane and the mini-SPI, when he is engaging a target. You need to look up what the Mini-SPI looks like in the manual, so that you will know it when you see it in your TAD. I hope this helps. Good Hunting!
  9. Ghostmooner, it was mentioned earlier in this thread, but I wanted to make sure you caught it, and understand. Your left and right engines need to be started independently of each other. Wait for one engine to finish it's start up cycle before beginning the other. When you start the left engine, take a look at your caution light panel, and notice the top left light will say ENG START CYCLE. This means that one of the engines is in it's start cycle, when the light goes out, then you can begin starting the right engine.
  10. It may be you have not turned on the L/R Wing and Main Fuel Pumps.
  11. Nasty Sergeant Loudmouth huh? majapahit, dont bite the hand that feeds you!
  12. dont get hung up on whether the laser was or wasnt AUTO before or now, just go back and work throught the tutorial, watch Headspace's video, and RodBorza's advice.
  13. Did you try the Precision Guided Munitions Training Mission?
  14. Just a FYI majapahit, the GBU12 and 10 are both terminally guided to their target by a laser. They are known as LGB's or Laser Guided Bombs. Your job as pilot is to set them up to drop the bomb on a ballistic trajectory that will send it close to the target, and then fire the laser. The guidance unit uses fins to steer the bomb on to the reflected laser energy. A quick google search will provide a much better explanation than I can.
  15. Sniped by my friend from Germany!!!
  16. At the risk of stating the obvious, you do not mention lasing the target anywhere in your description. I drop my GBU 12's from high altitude (>15K), use CCRP, and lase the target for the last 10-12 seconds.
  17. Try China Hat AFT Short = Boresight TGP
  18. Nice start slowhand, but I am asking everyone to put this kind of helpful advice into a PDF document and post that here. Again, we need PDF Guides for this project, not helpful posts.
  19. After your great tip on clearing the CDU Asterisk error, I would really rather see what you can put together in your own Guide, then you can put it in there.
  20. Please Gentlemen!!! can we please keep this thread on topic? I ask that you only post your new pilot guides, or questions about the guides. I really don't want this to turn into a cat herding session.
  21. If your SADL Net settings are correct, your wingman should be sending you mini-SPI's as he engages targets. Look over the TAD section in the Flight Manual to find the NET Settings info.
  22. I agree, but let's see what contributions are put forth. So far, we are a ways from sticky territory, but I have hope that new pilot guides are under development as we speak. Kudos to BBQ for his contribution!
  23. Yeah I noticed the same thing, but I only expected this technique to get me in the general vicinity, and start putting my TGP to good use. Let me know what you find regarding the elevation for a 2D waypoint.
  24. Remember to maintain an altitude that is above the manpad threat, and use your flares when you think you might be in the envelope.
