  1. pg 316 in the Flight Manual. Mini-SPI in particular. Search for SADL or Datalink for more info in the Flight Manual.
  2. Did you try looking in the F10 menu for any commands? That is a common spot for mission designers to put player controlled triggers.
  3. Guys, just to be clear, I am looking for you to create a short document with your best advice, and help with things that were stumbling blocks to you when you first started. Follow BBQ's lead! Even though they are good advice, I am not looking for the insightful one sentence post.
  4. The wiki sites have been there for a while now, and would be the ideal arrangement I agree, but this forums seems to be the continual nexus for the new pilots, so I thought why fight the tide?
  5. I really like the additional information, points of view, and hearing what other ways you guys are using to manage the fight. Keep it up!, everyone learns when you all put in your 2 cents.
  6. Hi Phil, You are not the first to request a print friendly version. I decided when I started to opt for a more polished, professional look, rather than the spartan printer friendly style. You can cut the text from the PDF, and paste it into a word doc, and then print that out, but you miss the pictures. Thanks for the feedback.
  7. As I have mentioned in another thread, with the upcoming Steam Release, there will be a lot of new pilots coming on these forums for guidance. Some will be veterans of previous flight sim's, but I think the majority will be green recruits. Having that in mind, I would like to provide them a thread they can come to find community created guides aimed squarely at them. I need you all to help me out and please consider making a New Pilots' Guide that has your own advice and wisdom based on your experiences. Please try to provide whatever you create in a PDF format for consistency. Post them here, and please try to remember your target audience, and how it was for you way back when you first met the Hog! We want the Simulation Community to grow, so let's provide a resource for the new pilots that show up. I have created my version, and have attached it below. Based on the response from the Community, I hope to see this thread made a sticky. Guys, just to be clear, I am looking for you to create a short document with your best advice, and help with things that were stumbling blocks to you when you first started. NEW PILOT GUIDE VER 1 04-15-2011.pdf
  8. I have them in my signature line, and on the DCS Wiki site
  9. Well we all are still learning, thats the fun part! I for example, have just been illuminated by a good hearted forum member, as to one of my bigger fubar's...all I can do is laugh, and shake my head. You see, I have been thanking DCS in all my Tutorials, and I really should be thanking Eagle Dynamics. DCS=Game Series Title, ED=Game Company. I will get it right in my next Tutorial. To put how I feel right now in picture form:
  10. I was inspired by a thread that Bahger created, and some great links that bartleby provided (Thank you Gentlemen!) to write up another Tutorial based on the Offset Page of the CDU. I have said it before, and I will say it again....the CDU is the "Final Frontier". So let's put those previously unused Bullseye Calls to use, using the CDU. This Tutorial covers how to take a Bullseye Call from AWACS and turn it into a waypoint you can navigate to, and engage with "great vengence, and furious anger!!" (nod to Pulp Fiction and Tarantino, and Samuel L. Jackson) I hope you will find it helpful, and as always, please let me know if there are any needed revisions or corrections. CDU Offset Tutorial is attached below in PDF format. Good Hunting. CDU OFFSET TUTORIAL 04-14-2011.pdf
  11. Hi Bahger! I believe the BRA calls, (Bearing, Range, Altitude) are provided by AWACS just for your reference to your current position, not the bullseye. Think of it as a personal heads up for you from the AWACS. If the call was for the bullseye it would be proceeded by the "Bull's 120 for 35" instead of "BRA 120 for 35 angels 15 flanking"
  12. Looks great indeed!! Subscribing to this thread.
  13. Do you know you are posting on the DCS Warthog Forum? The A-10C does not have an afterburner, but the GAU 8 more than makes up for it....
  14. Kaiza, do you get the same results in the Windows Controller Test?
  15. NP pal, I had to physically look at both of them before I hit the submit reply button, for a second I was not sure myself.;)
  16. Wow, some great discussion and debate here. The over-arch to me, is that the flight simulation community is a small niche group, and I want to see it grow. Once this sim hit's Steam, we will see a lot of new pilots coming in here. Some will be seasoned, but most will be green. I too realize that this high fidelity, military grade study sim is not for everyone, learning this sim takes patience, dedication, hard work, and perseverance. It is especially hard on the person who has never touched a flight sim before DCS A-10C. But, the reward is so sweet once you have put in the time. Those who do decide to decide to put in the time and effort are going to need Community help. So let's keep building on the outstanding people and resources that we have here already. I challenge you reading this to look back at your journey learning this sim and create something that will help the future new pilots. We can never have too many Guides, Walkthrough's, Instructional Video's, etc. Take a new pilot under your wing and help them out. Doing this, will help keep our beloved Flight Sim Genre alive and ensure more great titles in the future.
  17. Hi RodBorza!.....Welcome Back! You are probably running into the desires of the mission designer, as sometimes they set their missions to not allow labels, or External Views, or your own internal settings. In the Mission Editor you can control the level of External Views. (Look for a check mark in the left hand menu) Just open up the mission you want to edit in the Mission Editor, and save it with a unique name if you want to keep both the original, and your modified version.
  18. Glad to help. Good Hunting!
  19. Hi stilgar99, Welcome to the Forums! Help is here! You will need to use the VHF FM Radio and the Mic Switch Aft. I have put a Radio Tutorial together that I hope will get your questions answered and put you on the right path to realistic radio use. There is a link in my signature below for my Radio Tutorial. Let me know if you have any problems.
  20. The Cougar Joystick has the paddle as well, the difference between the two is the CMS control has a pushbutton function, bringing the number of functions up to 5 on the Warthog Stick vs 4 for the Cougar Stick.
  21. You can switch between them...If you and your flight are on 03 when you take off, just switch to 01 before contacting JTAC. Once you get the data triangle, then switch your net ID back to Group 03 and give it to your flight.
  22. There is a full 1.1.0.7 version up on the DCS main webpage if you prefer getting that.
  23. Hi Noel,....Welcome to the Forums! Please ignore the splash screen version for now...it is not reflective of the version number. If you want to confirm your installed version, just start the Sim, in the Main Menu, open up the Mission Editor, and then up at the top hit MISC and then CREDITS. The version number will be listed there at the top.
  24. "You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to jeffyd123 again" Great advice Jeff.
