  1. I think he is talking about the Torrent, and the corruptions that come up in the torrent download.
  2. Is anyone else getting a CTD the first time you run this mission on a clean install? I have been getting a ntdll.dll in my Error Report.
  3. For those asking in earlier posts, the 1.1.0.7 Full Install is up on the DCS Home Page: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/ look in the Software Section.
  4. Just one addition to Bahger's post. That's TMS UP SHORT, to hook the white castle, and TMS UP LONG, to make it your SPI.
  5. Go into Options, Controls, Axis Commands, near the bottom of the list is zoom view. Highlight the intersection of the command and your shiny new WH, and then hit ADD. Now a new box will pop up, and you just need to move the slider back and forth until the joystick slider name pops into the box.
  6. I vote for you to finish it to your satisfaction, then release it.
  7. Never a problem with me Black, glad to help.
  8. Get 1.1.0.6 and 1.1.0.7 from here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/ Install the full 06, then patch to 07.
  9. Your instincts were right, but let's first use our TMS LEFT SHORT to acknowledge the message received until we have a clear TAD. With your TAD as SOI, move your cursor on to the red triangle. Then press your TMS UP SHORT once to hook the triangle, and then TMS UP LONG to make the triangle your SPI (a white wedding cake symbol overlays the red triangle if you were successful in making it the SPI) With the triangle now the SPI, let the JTAC know you will accept the tasking, by hitting the WILCO (OSB 19) Now you can let your fellow wingmen/MP buddies know the new JTAC tasking by Broadcasting Your SPI. Press the DMS LEFT LONG, the SPI OFF will turn to SPI ON (OSB 6). Now you can slew your TGP on your datalinked target by hitting the CHINA HAT FWD LONG, and prosecute your attack. Good Hunting!
  10. You are welcome!.....keep up the good work.
  11. Was it FOD referring to a "FOD walk"?---Where you walk the carrier deck/runway for foreign objects that need to be picked up? Foreign Object Debris? http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:US_Navy_070327-N-8923M-157_Sailors_participate_in_a_foreign_object_damage_%28FOD%29_walkdown_aboard_Nimitz-class_aircraft_carrier_USS_Harry_S._Truman_%28CVN_75%29.jpg http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:US_Navy_050720-N-7286M-017_Sailors_assigned_to_the_Helicopter_Anti-Submarine_Light_Squadrons_based_on_board_Naval_Air_Station_%28NAS%29_North_Island,_conduct_a_Foreign_Object_Debris_%28FOD%29_walk_down.jpg
  12. Hi Kane, Just to clarify, the reason for the Tutiorial was as a backup to the "Red Triangle". The datalink red triange is, as you correctly use it, the best way to get on the target the fastest. But, if you have ever had your SADL Net settings incorrectly set by either user error, or bug, you will want to know this method. It is a very empty feeling when the JTAC says "Standby Data" and nothing shows up on the TAD and you are left with nothing. With the Tutorial, you will be able to get on target if you entered the coordinates while the 9 line brief was being given, or by writing the coordinates down on paper. The alternate reason for making a waypoint from the JTAC coordinates, is that you can always use that waypoint later on if you need to re-prosecute an unfinished attack.
  13. If memory serves me right, the DTS system is a Digital Terrain System. From just checking my recollections in the manual for accuracy, the DTS is abbreviated for the Digital Terrain System Application Software (DTSAS) Page 173 of the Flight Manual at the bottom states: "DTSAS Figure of Merit (FOM). The Digital Terrain System Application Software (DTSAS) consists of a digital elevation database. DTSAS allows ground collision and obstacle warnings. The FOM value indicates how accurate the DTSAS data is." This is not to be confused with the Data Transfer System Load Page which is also referred as the DTS Page. So, when you see DTS in the Flight Manual, read carefully and make sure you know which system is being referenced.
  14. Glad I could help you for a change, as I have been enjoying your Airport Diagrams for months!!
  15. Did you get the "Refueling Complete" message from the tanker?
  16. You are welcome. Let me know if you run into any snags.
  17. Hi Mooshim, No worries. You know I am always glad to help. Please start at post 35 in this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=68946&page=4 You can try those methods, but it is a bug to have a UTM coordinate with less than 6 numerical values. Sorry I can not be of more help. Let me know how it goes.
  18. If you were in permanent function mode (there is an F in the scratchpad) then according to the Flight Manual page 362 #3 states: Heading Tape / Scratchpad. The heading tape scale is a tape of increment marks and numerics indicating magnetic heading. A fixed index pointer indicates the magnetic heading. Each mark on the tape represents 5º of magnetic heading, and a 2-digit label is provided at each 10º interval. When text or numeric data is entered on the UFC or CDU, the scratchpad appears in this area and replaces the heading tape and desired magnetic heading. Clear your scratchpad.
  19. I have had a lot of fun hours playing this misson, l am also looking forward to any updates. Thanks Greywo1fg
  20. Cold Start Checklist Updated on Page 1 of this thread. Edit 9: External Light activation was moved post APU GEN start. Version 4.
  21. They will both work. IMHO Pinky Switch AFT requires more knowledge and input from the Pilot, but is more customizable. As you already know, (but for the new pilot here is the breakdown!) Pinky FWD sets the lights to a default configuration, independent of what the cockpit switches are set to. Pinky AFT sets the lights per the dial and switch positions of the Lighting Control Panel inside the cockpit. So if the new pilot jumps in the cockpit and hits the Pinky Switch AFT, and the default setting for the Position Light is OFF, and the default setting for the Anti-Collision Switch is OFF, then they may be confused with the lack of lighting. I hope my logic makes sense. Let me know what you think.
  22. Hi Zeke, Thanks for the feedback. Just so you know, I decided for the new user that the Pinky Switch Forward which sets the lights on without the use of the exterior lighting switches being set on the cockpit panel would be the least confusing. Keeping the new Pilot in mind, why do you think that the Pinky Switch AFT would be the better setting? I will move the exterior light activation post APU GEN, thanks.
  23. Used that method last night with StrongHarm and Scout...worked perfectly. It is a great backup method to the SPI transmit.
  24. Welcome to the Forums Cajun! IMHO, your goal is to become proficient with this Sim, then use the tools at your disposal. Once you do get to the point of being able to use all the general systems with comfort, you will see that you need active pause less, and less. At that point you can "wean'" yourself off of labels if you have been using them.
  25. The Mission Editor has the Gross Weight listed.
