  1. Nice guide there oritpro, FYI although the training mission does instruct you to start operating the radio's before starting the APU, and then switching the APU Gen switch to ON, I would strongly advise against it. Here is why. Since Beta 2 when you switch from battery power to the APU Generator power by hitting the APU Gen switch to ON, it seems to mess up the switches on the radio that you have already set. The closest I can come to explaining it is like a reset, but the switches do not move to you, they still are set where you put them while on battery power.
  2. This is a High Fidelity Simulator of a A-10C. This is not HAWX....You have to work for it. (But the reward is just as great as the hard work you put in) If switchology does not suit you, I do not know what to tell you. Since this is a cockpit that has almost every switch being functional. You have a forum full of questions and answers at your disposal. If you don't understand an answer as explained, just say so..there are a lot of very helpful people here.
  3. Come on guy's don't let fact's get in the way....he has his rant all teed up!
  4. Just a friendly notice KENCO, we can read your post even without the bold print.
  5. Back on OP's topic....+1 for an Iran Map.
  6. Well that's putting the cart in front of the horse....If you dont have the equipment to run this Sim, you would not be buying it. No sense in purchasing something that will not run on your PC. If you spent 1-2K on this Sim, then your PC needed a hefty upgrade. That of course is the story of PC Gaming, Software development drives Hardware development and the inverse is true. Welcome to the never ending quest to having a great PC gaming rig. It's not for everybody.
  7. Yeah I'm clearly not speaking for myself there..or you for that matter, but I had to average it...so the conservative 200 was what I picked.... This Sim is a tremendous entertainment value for me IMHO.
  8. Your relative entertainment value from DCS A-10C is really very good if you compare the hours you will spend flying and enjoying it, to let's say, the price of a movie ticket and some popcorn with a soda. Movie + Popcorn + Soda = $20-25 for approx 1.5-2 hours of entertainment. That's roughly $10.00 per hour of entertainment. DCS A-10C = $60.00 for approx 200 hours of gameplay. That's roughly 30 cents an hour.
  9. If you had included it, then some would be ranting about how the Nellis Map was unfit for release and it made the whole product "inferior"....
  10. Understanding the concepts of Sensor of Interest (SOI) and Sensor Point of Interest (SPI) and HOTAS control names/fuctions were the important foundation topics for me.
  11. Maulkin, remember during the training missions, that you can hit the pause key and re-read a section as long as you like, then when you are comfortable, take it off pause. I did each training mission over, and over, and over until I was comfortable with it. So I encourage you to keep at it, and be patient....it will gel soon.
  12. This is a known bug Gentlemen.

  14. ^^^+1!!
  15. Please!!...I guess you never played Falcon 4, or Arma, now that was buggy! You haven't suffered until you went through the Falcon 4 release. In all my years Simming, I have never seen a complex Study Sim release without bugs. I believe this is the most complex and detailed Sim yet to date, and logically the bug's scale with complexity.
  16. What ever profile you choose, run it "Exclusive" (you can find this setting under the 3 tabs with a checkbox next to it) That will set the TIR behavior to what you have chosen in regards to the F7,F9,F12 bindings. There is/was/ a known bug where other non active profile settings would "bleed through to your active profile. I thought it was addressed in the latest release version, I guess not.
  17. The following SADL Net settings usually get you the datalinked red triangle Setting your OWN ID to 01 and your GROUP ID to 01
  18. Here are 2 more unmapped controls available to you on your TM Warthog: SLEW CONTROL IN---DX Assignment Throttle Button #1 MIC SWITCH IN---DX Assignment Throttle Button #2
  19. You have made a great mission there Bahger, you should be proud! -1 for Warrior not reading that line of the Brief...I apologize pal.
  20. Well I guess that calls for a slight edit for clarification of the Flight Manual if that is the case. Something like..."Weapon Event. Each time a weapon is fired or released, a Z Mark Point is created at the predicted impact point of that weapon. Each subsequent weapon firing or release, replaces the last Z Mark Point." Edited to reflect the current understanding.
  21. Yeah it was VAC, I put it together when I was using the trial version, then that expired and I bought a license. Never got the license to unlock the "Your 30 day evaluation period is over..." message. Sent and received a bunch of emails with Ron (Shifty) but I never got it to work. Ron really tried, and I give him kudos for his efforts. I wish I could have got it to work, and Ron thinks it's UAC related, but I think the solution is a complete reinstall of Win 7 and turn UAC off from the start...I'm not that desperate yet. I don't have the profiles any more, and the one I used was one that was available on the site.
  22. From pg 461 in the Flight Manual: "Weapon Event. Each time a weapon is released, a Z Mark Point is created. Each subsequent weapon release replaces the last Z Mark Point." I would guess your plane's position when you released the weapon.
  23. My default SADL Net Setting when I spawned in plane was set at: OWN ID: 01 GROUP ID: 02 I had my wing in dark blue icon which means he was on the same group id. This needed to be changed to GROUP ID: 01 before contacting JTAC in order to get Datalink Red Triangle. Switching back to GROUP ID: 02 brought my wing back to blue from green. Can you confirm this Bahger? If yes, suggest you switch it to GROUP ID: 01 for both player and wingman
  24. I addressed that with using the word "roger" for the suprise F1 response that I did not have mapped.
