  1. Hi Ice, Since you are using the TrackIR, you can "free-up" some redundant key assignments. You can clear your cockpit view key assignments which are the numpad if memory serves me right. You can also clear the arrow keys as you have a joystick to do that job.
  2. You heard wrong. (from the FAQ Sticky at the top of this forum) Q: Will DCS: A-10C use all cores on my CPU? A: Not fully. It does include the new sound engine which operates in a separate thread, and does take advantage of some DirectX threading features when running on Windows Vista or 7. The recommended specs are high because this Sim pushes hardware pretty hard. If you don't have the Sim and have not run it on your machine, I suggest you do so. That way you will see first hand how it taxes your system.
  3. I would have said "count me in" until I saw Helios paired with touchscreens. I now believe that that is the direction I will go as it can change with me. As much as I would like a dedicated A10C physical switch pit, the reality is I can not afford it.
  4. Greb, here is a link to the Mission Data Card that I made. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=61044&highlight=Mission+Data+Card It might give you an idea of some of the different types of information that can be put in a briefing. Pictures in the briefing also help add to the immersion. Your creation of a "living airbase" is the best immersion factor I have seen in a MP mission to date...
  5. Just tried out MP version with myself alone first, then with 2 others joining. Love the airbase activity! As the only MP client the AI aircraft taxied and took off as you designed. When 2 others joined my MP, the F15 seemed to get stuck in his right turn from his apron start up point. This caused the KC135 to get stuck on his taxi to runway 30 before he gets to F15's position. Addition: Just tried it again, 2 of us going in to MP. Same behavior as before with F15 Ford1-2 getting stuck, then KC135 stopping behind. While we were both on the ramp finalizing our start-up, the guy in the server with me crashed to desktop and once his jet left the "world" the F15 moved ahead, and then the KC135 did as well. So it's something to do with the 2nd Client position that is interfering with the AI taxiing. Maybe move the 2,3, and 4 client parking spots to the left of the first client parking spot.
  6. All changes will revolve around 2 ideas. And these 2 ideas can be changed independently for each of the 6 axis described above. First is changing how much X degrees of physical head rotation translates into X degrees of "in game head" rotation. You can make your own head movements more or less drastic in the game. Lastly, is that you can change how the TrackIR presents your head movement in terms of smoothness of tracking. You can adjust it to be a near 1to1 representation of your actual head movements or a smoothed out representation. All of these things are in the TrackIR Manual.
  7. With confirmation that the stickers are missing, I would now suspect that you got a pair of version 1 MFD's there.
  8. The version number is on a white sticker on the bottom of the base. If neither of your Cougar MFD's have this required white sticker, I would call up TM and let them know that you got 2 MFD's from Costcentral that had the stickers removed.
  9. Deephouse, can you do me a favor, look on the bottom of your Cougar MFD that went bad and tell me what the Version Number is? I heard Version 1 devices had problems like you describe that forced TM to revise the Cougar MFD's and put out Version 2 devices.
  10. Hi Rextar, I'm sorry, I am not quite following you. To reiterate, I advise to not use the F1 thru F12 keys as functions in the TrackIR profile you use for DCS A-10C..... as DCS A-10C uses these keys in the Communication Menu.
  11. I would advise you go in your TrackIR software and confirm a few things. First look in the window that shows your 3 green tracking dot's and confirm that they are roughly centered in that screen. If not, adjust. Second, confirm that you are not getting any IR glint sources in your room behind you that the TrackIR camera is picking up. These are the source of many problems. Such sources are the Sun's reflection off of a picture frame, a fireplace, or other open heat source. Third, consider moving your TrackIR camera to better capture your full range of motion. The relative positions of your cap and the camera should be near to the same plane. Test your looking down tracking in the software after trying the things above and try to localize the problem. If you can not improve it, you might also try changing the Pitch axis to make it more responsive to a smaller input of your head. Hope you work it out.
  12. Yeah downhill sure is the right word. Shame too since it's such a beautiful State. I hope that when this "social experiment" that has been evolving here the last few decades finally brings this State to it's knees, that no bailout follows. That would only prolong the inevitable and waste more taxpayer money.
  13. I hear ya Greb! I am 46 years young, and was born and raised in California. I have seen my State and Country change so much in the last 20 years that I hardly recognize it anymore. Your right Greb, John Wayne would not survive the P.C. filters of today. I hope that you Greb, Mac, and all the others on this board who volunteered to serve our Country know how much I appreciate the sacrifice. Thank you....Thank you very much. Now back on topic.....GI Joe spent hours fighting some of the best "battles" in my back yard. We must be near the same age Greb, as Lincoln Logs, Lego's Army Men and Hot Wheels were my childhood toys as well.
  14. Yeah, let's keep it real.....I dont know how you brought our fine men and women in the United States Armed Forces into this, but that is not where I or the others were going with the conversation. But since you took it there, let me be clear. I am not talking about a man/actor, John Wayne, but the ideals he portrayed on screen. The others can speak for themselves, but I myself would welcome the return of some of the principles in the General Population that John Wayne's Characters espoused. Many of these principles, are rare to find outside of the Military Institutions, and that is what I lament. Such things as Honor, Integrity, Morals, Ethics, and a Never say Die attitude, to name but a few, are becoming an endangered species in my humble opinion.
  15. Looks great Headspace! One question, will binds for the Radio and Key Settings; Radio 1, Radio 2, and Radio 3 need to be keyboard combo's or can they be Direct X Button Assignments from the Warthog Throttle Mic Switch? I ask, as I do not want to use Target if I can help it.
  16. Hi Ryrrar, First off, welcome to the fourms and congratulations on purchasing one of the most immersive PC peripherals in my humble opinion. Follow Sobek's advice, he is right. The axis are set up like this: Yaw is turning your head left/right in the horizontal plane from a fixed position. (Think turning your head left/right to look to cross a street) Pitch is the vertical axis that models your head looking straight up at the sky and back down at your toes. X axis is the horizontal, shift your head position left/right on the horizontal plane. (think shifting your head to the left/right in a seat to see around the head of a person in front of you in a theater) Y axis is the vertical, raise your head position up/down on the vertical plane. (think sitting up higher in a seat to see over the head of a person in front of you in a theater) Roll axis is like tilting your head from side to side. (think putting your left ear to your left shoulder and right ear to your right shoulder) Z axis is the zoom axis and it models you moving your head closer and further away from the camera. Regarding the F1-F12 keys, avoid using these for anything in TrackIR with DCS A-10C as the Sim uses them for the Communication Menu. Hope this helps.
  17. Thanks for the Multiplayer Greb, and man, talk about quick feedback response, you take the cake Greb! Rep inbound Sir! The Multiplayer will need some more combat if you feel you can add it in keeping with your vision of the original mission. You are so right about the Duke, and the Men of that Generation, It's up to us now to try and step up, and fill those shoes.
  18. Would you consider making it a 2-4 player Multiplayer Mission?
  19. Worked for me in Firefox, very nicely done!
  20. Since the TrackIR replaces the need for standard in cockpit view keys, I deleted their key assignments. (If memory serves me they were default to the Num Pad) I used the Numpad * key as my TrackIR center and I unchecked the Enable box for the Pause and Precision as I do not need them, and the F keys that are bound to them are needed for the Radio Interface. The rest of the unused Numpad keys were put to good use being assigned to map out the UFC (Up Front Controller) to my CH MFP.
  21. Seeing as the Sniper ATP's are now hanging on Station 10's in the real world; http://warthognews.blogspot.com/2010/02/eight-more-10cs-from-81st-fighter.html http://www.armedforces-int.com/news/lockheed-martin-sniper-pod-makes-combat-debut.html any comment from DCS if this pod will be modeled in the future?
  22. Epokha, please read this tutorial (updated links to tutorial in post #53) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=61349&page=6 Make note of the part of the tutorial about WHEN you start using your radio's to program in the presets.
  23. Hi Chicki, thanks, as for the PM, I replied today. If you need any more help, just ask. I will be glad to assist.
  24. Hi Cougar, Just finished flying OP2, had a great time. Thank you. One thing, Chevy Flight A10 starts in the Hardened Aircraft Shelter with it's nose going thru the Shelter Door. Upon mission start, the Shelter door swings open, and it flung the A10 around facing back into the back of the Shelter. Can you move the spawn point back?
  25. Getting your wingman to engage targets with weapons has to do with one thing....the wingman must be close enough to the target to call "contact" Once the wingman "see's" the target, then orders to engage are successful. Now what that range is exactly, I do not know. But it seems to be around 4-5 NM.
