  1. i did some searching as its an aircraft i consider building myself. [ame]http://nonolight.free.fr/air_cockpit/plan/M2000.pdf[/ame] http://nonolight.free.fr/air_cockpit/plan/photos_M2000/M2000.zip [ame]http://nonolight.free.fr/air_cockpit/1-Ossature-2000.pdf[/ame]
  2. try get hold of this guy. u can translate the page with google chrome. very cool stuff he has made. http://www.aircockpit.com/viewtopic.php?f=97&t=187&sid=a514b7cf8fc18edaba0f218bcd2ddf4e good luck its hard to build these planes as there is many a10/f16 getting most attention.
  3. hey all , just found a microsoft sidewinder ffb2 at the tip shop we plugged the power into it and it did nothing so the gentleman said ahh its no good. i said ill buy it still thinking it needs usb connection and bingo $2 for the stick and i have a ffb2 working perfect. however when i am in my desktop its nice and firm. if i enter dcs 1.5 it still works but isnt as firm as in the desktop. is there a program to tune this kind of thing as drivers dont seem avaliable anymore. cheers.
  4. thanks for your help looks like thats got it sorted
  5. hi all , im from australia and have some friends in greece that i fly with however my friends dont have the money to buy the new L39. i logged into his account and went through the purchasing process only to realise it automaticly switched to my account. so i now have the L39 on my profile twice and we cant find a way to enter a key manually. how can i solve my issue so we can fly together. kind regards.
  6. i managed to get it through the module manager.
  7. having the same issue , i pre purchased and i finally got a day off to give it a try and now i cant. another 2 weeks before i can use it. :(
  8. just bumping this thread , i got busy at work and with life but i finally bought this fine aircraft after alot of debating and im very happy with it. the only issue is finding info on the aircraft. i dont intend to have a 100% realistic simpit but i want it to look mostly complete. if anyone have any cockpit photos showing details of the side panels and measurements that would be great. i think my next step should be learning to use helio and using what skill i have in photoshop to make some gauges for the C-101.
  9. hi guys , i used a home printer to print it out over a number of A4 pages. seems like a realistic size but i have no clue lol. the mfd screens come out to 5.1inch or 125mm my main issue is alignment. id like to get it printed a few times at a print shop as a single peice 1 as it is and 1 inverted to make panels with. should i be able to take the whole pdf manual in and get them to do it or do i have to seperate the page and zoom it to 400% first. i cant figure out how to get those pages on there own.
  10. im waiting for all the people that have been hating on oculus to start complaining once the price is released on this headset. from what i have read there is some fancy tech in it and that comes with a price tag. that is why oculus has made it so far because the average joe can afford it. there are headsets with way better specs then the rift and with the same price tag the rift could be at that point but no one will buy it. i personally think trackir need to make a headset with high res but using there 3 point tracking system so you dont need rediculous fps. on my old vr920 i ripped the tracking unit out and put a trackir on it for best results.
  11. that would be great thanks.
  12. hi all , im very interested in this aircraft for building a cockpit simulator. does anyone have any info on the panels such as dimensions and top down view so i could work on mocking some printable panels up in photoshop. kind regards frogger
  13. i was one of the people that shelled out around a grand for a vuzix vr920. i thought it was amazing but at the same time it was very awkward. for the type of flying i do an oculus will be amazing. i have used the dk1 in some of the roller coaster games and i was pretty impressed and could tell it will be great in a flight sim. at the same time i have once built a pc9 simulator to replicate my favourite aircraft. i didnt get to the point of having gauges but i had side consoles and a projector for visuals. this made doing the simplest things like prepairing for a landing such a joy. my personal opinion is that a full put will always be better if it has the support of a decent income. at least 3 projectors on a curved screen and back lit panels with physical switches and gauges. but for an amazing sensation for under $1000 u cant beat a rift a hotas and a chair with vibration feed back.
  14. hey guys, is there still big delays in the shipping of the rift or have they got that sorted now.
  15. really cool and well priced software. i assume a locked pc license means u can only have installed on 1 pc at a time ? does it have limited installs to a license key for if i need to format ? also what type of projectors are u using ? are they angled down from above to allow u to sit so close ? cheers shane.
  16. they have a print out for instrument bezels on that site. just made my life easier. cheers
  17. does the oculus use accelrometer and gyros for some of the head tracking ? wouldnt this throw the tracking off ?
  18. did a little test to see if I could cut the holes without a hole saw. can do it but a hole saw will be easier/faster/cleaner. although I still think this test bit looks awesome for my skill level :D and up on the monitor with Helios gauge. cheers frogger
  19. ok so ive finally managed to get started on this project. I picked up the scroll saw last week and then had to get some wood. I was having a lot of trouble finding references for the F86 cockpit and was ready to switch to a different aircraft but decided to just roughly design it as it doesn't need to be 100% accurate. just needs to make me feel like im flying an aircraft. took about 3 hrs to draw up the design for the main panel then the scroll saw made quick work out of it. im really quite impressed with this tool, id call it the poor mans cnc machine. all u need to do is get your design printed and stick it to the wood and u can cut some pretty fine detailed stuff. anyway the start to the main panel sitting next to a 24" monitor. next I will build 3d bevels for on top of this panel and cut out the holes. this is an old torch handle ive had laying around , once the torch broke I knew the handle would be useful. this will be my throttle handle. I will likely cut it down and make a wooden top to replicate the real thing. having a cylinder section on the bottem of it to sit inside the metal tube and held in place by small screws in the side. "silly question" looking at the throttle im not 100% sure how the pilot actuall holds it. is it held around the tube and operate the buttons with your thumb and index finder , or would u place your hand over the top like a gear stick in a car ??? regards frogger
  20. hi all , thought id make a thread to help motivate me to progress in a build im planning. back ground is i love small trainer jets and don't really get into combat flying. the f86 is quite basic but also quite a nice looking cockpit imo. talking to a friend in Greece about the aircraft i asked if he had many detailed pictures of the cockpit in his massive collection of stored aviation photos when he sent me this http://www.nmusafvirtualtour.com/media/043/F-86A%20Cockpit.html i couldn't believe my luck. i still need some basic measurements but im sure i can find them. a co worker found out i was looking at buying a scroll saw from work "work at bunnings" and told me he had an old one sitting in his shed and to make an offer. so $50 later i have a vital tool for making a good part of the cockpit. this will be a slow build but something different and fun. so if anyone has any documents on the f86 cockpit such as measurements and manuals id very much appreciate them. regards Shane
  21. I think Logitech need to build something like a replica FA-18 or Su27 hotas with ffb and they will dominate the market. look how well the warthog has done, Saitek have there own style but most flight sim users go for immersion and having a starwars style joystick infront of u covering in glowing led's is the worst thing for that. unless your flying a spacecraft lol. one of my favourite sticks was the trustmaster master flight control system. felt amazing compaired to new ones.
  22. awesome thanks guys.
  23. hey all , hope this is in the right section. my question is , is it possible to have the old Alt_F1 hud only view in dcs. when I do it now it also displays a map or mfd details. thanks frogger
  24. I got to try a dev kit the other day and having used other vr headset's like the vr920 and owning a trackir I was instantly impressed by the headtracking and even the res wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I didn't get to try dcs or anything like it and I was wondering just how difficult it would be to read the gauges in a cockpit.
  25. hey guys , I had a small collection of some of the old sticks in my shed that I had intended to use for a cockpit build. I lost the stick part from a TM mark 2 hotas but currently use the throttle with the guts of an old joystick. it has 6 push bottons and I had installed an analog game pad stick in it which gave me the use of 2 axis for mouse control or what have but its currently broken and I need to get a new analog stick. my current project is fitting a suncom talon f15 stick onto a Logitech extreme 3d pro body. here are some low quality pictures. of what I have so far. and with all its buttons in place, so far it has the 2 hats active and the trigger button , but some of the switches inside are not working and ill have to replace them on the board. its coming along however ive gotten a mental blank and need an idea for the old twist rudder axis that I have available in the stick. does anyone know if there is a real function used on a stick that the axis could be set to , other then that I would just set it to a trim I guess. I also intend to wire the pinkie switch to complete a microphone circuit and have a port to plug a mic into and a wire to run along side the usb cable to plug into the pc mic port. this will allow me to have control of the mic via push button as some programs don't allow this. so any idea are welcome cheers :D
