  1. When a part of the A10s fuselage or wing or other object obscures the TGP. I think there was a bug that stopped this from happening.

  4. I'm sure this is correct. Whats the point in creating a simulator if you can't simulate because you don't or can't get hold of the data? Personally, I would be happy if we all flew 80's/90's (operationally speaking) era aircraft at 100% accuracy than modern jets at 60% (if that) accuracy.

  7. I think it's an engine limitation. So many emitters being spawned at one time is causing havoc.
  8. I don't know, I think the CA module has a lot of potential especially if it can be opened up to third parties.
  9. As much as it's cool to have a DCS: F15C i'm not sure I'm that excited about it. I find BVR capable fighters and a2a only fighers in general just so dull.

  11. I do agree. The feel of FC3 is a bit random and for the price $49.99 I feel that, if FC3 is meant to be a lighter introduction to flight simming, the price could turn away potential new players. I don't know how popular FC3 is compared to other products but I really think DCS should use FC3 as a carrot to entice new fliers to the sim. $24.99 is a fairer price to pay. Personally I would of paid $59.99 or more for A10C considering the amount of time I have put into it. I really think the price should reflect the overall depth (not necessarily quality) of the product. I understand Eagle put a lot of time and effort in to FC3 but we all know it just isn't the same as a study sim. Sometimes I think it would of been better to release the FC3 SFM aircraft separately as $14.99 modules rather than a package of aircraft that a fair few simmers are not that interested in.
  12. I suppose this is just the start. Now DCS:World is being realised as great platform for third party development we will see more and more modules being added with all the fidelity as A10C if not more so and 'game level' sim modules being marginalised as we see the 'DCS' standard being fleshed out. FC3 is great, but everyone wants to press those buttons and twiddle those knobs. Once we've had steak it'll be hard to go back to burger. (even though I love a good cheese burger! MMm)

  14. I think the 6DoF inclusion is a prelude to a full DCS product of these types.
  15. It's a shame that every ground based object (apart from units) by default is hideous in this sim. Roads, field textures, trees, civilian buildings. Can't wait for EDGE.
  16. You can change the .lua file to adjust the particle emitter to say, throw out the particles at different velocities, heights and how long to sustain the effect for. I've done it before. However, the engine seems to hard limit the amount of time the effect can live for. I wanted to create lingering smoke but the engine culled it no matter what setting I changed.
  17. ECM doesn't even work in this game. It's barely worth bringing along an ALQ pod. You might be turning onto your 3/9 to soon. The missile still has enough energy to intercept. You need to increase the angle in all aspects so that the missile bleeds energy faster. That means 3/9 and a dive or climb. If you're unlucky enough to be shot at twice you probably wont have enough maneuverability after the first one to get out of the way of the second.
  18. In general I think this ancient engine is not that capable of generating effects we come to expect from a 2013 simulation. There are some great mods but it's the engine that's the limiting factor. I'd like to see physics applied to ground units. Especially when being hit by a missile or other object.
  19. I approached one of the ED devs regarding information about the Jabber protocol that ED multiplayer lobby uses with a view to coding a Hyperlobby style application for the community. I was told that they couldnt release the info but a Hyperlobby style application was being talked about.

  23. I'd love an F16 but I think I would prefer the F18 simply because of the carrier ops.
  24. I think there is a bit of a hard limit as to the maximum amount of FPS this sim can push out. I think we just need to wait for EDGE before we see significant FPS improvements across the board.
